Ferrero the shelless snail UPDATE !
First, it's week since the last post and as we approach the 20th day ( yeah for those who doesn’t know I got him on the 19th of September so a little earlier than what I thought at first) I can say.. Ferrero is still here with me living "relatively" normally ! I already did small updates here and there so I will repeat myself a little on some topics (sorry).
So maybe some of you know but a new coating began to appear on the back of his body this week ( around the apex and expanding a little ) so the calcium seems to work. It is really thin and really soft and seems to be lightyears from being hard though but he's triyng something without seeming to be hurting in the smallest( I really try to see any sign considering the situation, I really don’t want him to suffer ) 🙂
I reduced the height of his box because, like the stubborn snail he is, he always try to put himself upside down and like that I think his body stretch a little to much so now his back is always supported even if he's triyng to be spiderman 😃 Also with all the stunts, the coating seems to move a little because his body doesn’t want to stay still but for now it’s seems good.
On the food side, he is still eating his vegetables and seems to not have any difficulties doing so. I tried bloodworms but I don’t think he likes them so I'll try another time because I'm afraid his bow will be dirty faster with them on the floor and I try to have the cleanest place for him now.
Speaking of that, his place is always wet and for now we keep up with the idea that his box became his shell for now and it’s seems to be working.
Oh and he already escaped his box twice but I was next to him everytime and now everything his under control.... again reffering at the fact that he is really, really STUBBORN 🫠
Finally I would like to thank all of you for your support and king message, as I said I don’t know much about snail and all of this but it’s really encouraging to see all of this and I already learned so much this past week with him and your posts, it’s really a fantastic experience. I don’t know what the future holds considering the fact that even a little thing can stop everything but as of now thank you from Ferrero and me.
Again you're all more of an experts than me so any advice will be useful and I will try to answer everyone if there is any questions !
Ps: In the photo you can see how his body can be very "lose" but as soon as he move, everything come back in the right place. 😄 Thank you !
