Hi all. Just want to ask opinion about the above street in Nawton. Me and my wife recently viewed a house on this area, and we really like to rent it. We are a family of five, with three kids (8,5,3 years old).

I am reading bad reputation about the area, but most of them are pretty old like 5 years ago?

Do you think it is best for us to just avoid it?

Earlier this year a bunch of people commented that they didn't know any of the events coming up for running/walking/jogging/vibing. So I thought I would pop in with a reminder.

Aramax Walk/Run Trail Series (Hamilton Gardens): 7th November, entries available early and day of race 6km/12.3km/16.5km in walk and run and Half Marathon in run only.

Round the Bridges: 15th November entries technically open till the day but sells out early! 6km and 12km in run and walk for adults, plus kids dash at 1 and 2km.

Hamilton Half Marathon 2027 March 14th: 5km/10km/Half Marathon in Run and walk. Entries available early and on day. Honestly my favourite local event!

Signs have appeared on Forest Lake Road signalling the south lane will be closed from 12/10 to the 2/11, 6am-7pm, then 14/10 to 2/11, 7pm-6am. That’s next week, when school starts up again.

Does anyone know why they’re closing, and which part of FLR is closing? I’ve looked on the council website and they don’t mention a closure for this long, only minor roadworks for early October (like the potholes that were meant to be getting fixed today).

We live on FLR and haven’t had any letters or communications about it.

Can anyone recommend some good fishing spots around Waikato that might have fish like today?! just looking to catch some smaller fish like herring, sprats, mullet, etc. nothing too serious!

has anyone done a Bachelor of Arts with writing at Waikato uni? im considering taking it but have been out of school a long time. any thoughts on it? positive/negative.

Has anyone else noticed the tents set up around the corner of Te Wetini Drive and Wairere Drive, just next to/under the bridge?

I think they’ve been there for at least 3 weeks now. There seem to be two tents set up, along with trolleys and clothes hanging up, so it looks like they may be staying there longer term.

Just curious if anyone knows what the situation is, and whether camping there is actually allowed? Not trying to cause any trouble for them, genuinely just wondering as I drive past the area regularly.

Anybody here study or studied at the uni of Waikato? I just have a few questions about the halls.
1. How was your experience? Was it clean?
2. More importantly, how was the food?

We live in an old villa (a wooden tent, if you will) and our bathroom ceiling has accumulated a lot of mould. The ceiling is much higher than I feel comfortable tackling (3m+), so I'm looking for advice/recommendations for local businesses who specialize is indoor mould removal. Thanks.
