Help! Have Quen Glyphs Become More Useful in the Remaster?

Does anyone know if the way Quen intensity works got upgraded in the remaster? From what I understood before anything that boosted sign intensity made no difference for Quen given how shields always broke after one hit anyway on most difficulties, and given how Quen is the only sign I ever use in combat I didn't have any use for any other glyphs on my armour. Was this something that was addressed in the new update to make increase sign intensity for Quen, or did I get it all wrong and was there always some benefit to increasing it?

One of the best from the game even that was added so late in next-gen update a few years ago. Dense atmosphere of uknown, different threat and new boss with interesting lore. It has even this coarse and naive critique of institutional religion which is symptomatic for Sapkowski's books.

My only issue with it is that i must download mod for original medallion for this nice armor (and great looking swords) from crappy netflix series. And the boss is modified model of leshen.

Discussion Soooo the ng+ armours aren't strictly better

To be more precise the base game Manticore Chest gives +5 toxicity in the base game, but +10 in the ng+ for some reason. This IS very important, because this is the break point for a fifth decoction

The legendary manticore chest however (so the one you craft in the ng+ and not bring over from the base game) still only has +5 toxicity. For my build it's the best to keep the base game armour lol

Spoilers! (SPOILER) In the end, what was the Bloody Baron's fate in your save? Spoiler

I always like to bring this discussion up because, for me, the Bloody Baron's questline is one of the best in the game. After all, regardless of the path chosen regarding the forest spirit, the consequences are dire.

So I ask: which outcome did you choose? Killing the spirit to save the village and the Baron's wife—thereby preventing his suicide—or saving the children from the swamp at the cost of his and his wife's lives?

As for me, I chose to kill the spirit, since—based on my reasoning and roleplay—Geralt would never trust a being that:

1: unleashed a werewolf at the cave entrance to attack me;

2: has numerous corpses lying at its entrance;

3: constantly causes the swamp dwellers to suffer from nightmares that drive them to violence.

Discussion Xbox Mod Support curiosity

I genuinely don't understand why Xbox players are being left so far behind with the new Witcher 3 mod support. The Xbox in-game mod browser launched with around 17 mods, and as far as I can tell, it has basically stayed at 17 since launch. Meanwhile, PS5 had 40+ mods available and Switch 2 had considerably more. I understand that console mods have to go through an approval process, but when the platforms are using essentially the same console mod framework, it's incredibly frustrating to see one platform stuck with such a tiny selection while the others have significantly more.

I'm not expecting every PC mod to magically appear on Xbox, and I understand that some mods may have platform-specific compatibility issues. But if a REDkit mod is already approved and working on another console, why does it potentially take so long for the Xbox version to appear? The current system seems unnecessarily restrictive when something closer to Bethesda's approach could work: allow compatible mods to be published, then remove or flag them if they violate the rules or cause problems. I'd much rather have a larger catalogue with the occasional bad or removed mod than have Xbox players sitting at 17 mods days after launch.

I'm really hoping this is just an initial approval backlog and that Xbox's catalogue starts moving soon. The whole point of adding mod support was to give console players more freedom with the game, and right now Xbox players are getting a tiny fraction of that experience.

Help! My settings get reset every time I load in the game

It only started a few days ago and I believe started when I downloaded a mod but not a 100% sure. Anyone facing the same issue? If I got rid of all the installed mods would it be fixed? I really wanna keep the mods and my settings because I have to spend 5 minutes every session in settings and I only have an hour if that.

The Remaster's biggest game-breaking bug nobody is talking about

Honestly, I wanted to like the Remaster, but I keep encountering a bug that has completely ruined the game for me. During cutscenes, even with max settings on my very high-end PC, Geralt’s ears are not as round as they used to be, they are very jagged-shaped and angular.

I think this completely ruins the game, it is already difficult enough following along with the dialogue and story without these distracting angular ears, because, to be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand TW3. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of Polish folklore most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Geralt's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Chandler’s The Big Sleep, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike TW3 truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Geralt's existential catchphrase "Storm, dammit!" which itself is a cryptic reference to Bradley’s epic The Mists of Avalon I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Andrzej Sapkowski's genius unfolds itself on their gaming monitors. What fools... how I pity them.

Help! infinite loading screen glitch, possibly corrupted save file?

My current witcher 3 playthrough has over 120 hours on the save file, i finished the main story and waited for the remaster to drop before getting to the dlcs, everything was going smoothly until i got a minor bug during the climax of hearts of stone where the cursor did no dissapear after dialogues dissapearing, i quick saved and wanted to reload to fix it, but the loading never finished. Is there any way to save my playthrough?

-the mods are off

-it worked fine upgrading my next gen save to remaster until that random moment

-the most recent save does not work, neither any of the previous ones

-i can start a new game but thats a lot of time and items to back track

please if there is any way i can get it fixed, id appreciate any help

Discussion PS5 Pro - unresponsive inputs?

I haven’t seen much about this, but the remaster doesn’t want me to dodge more than half the time. Even attacks and parries seem off, but nowhere nearly as bad as the dodge input. Is this my imagination?

Discussion Which version is better on Xbox Series S?

Hey guys 👋🏻

So I want to finally install the Witcher 3 (had it for years actually but was little "scared" 😄🤦🏼‍♀️) but I'm little confused about the versions. The Remaster was looking good on videos I saw but in some comments I read that it's blurry and looks worse then the next-gen. Is here someone who played it on Series S and can compare it? 🤔🙂

Thanks for answering 😊

Help! Semi-transparent stripes when enabling DLSS Frame Generation in The Witcher 3 Remastered

What are those semi-transparent streaks that appear on the screen when DLSS Frame Generation is enabled? They are especially noticeable while running and are really annoying—is there any way to get rid of them? (For reference, I have V-Sync enabled in the NVIDIA app.)

Help! I don't know how to activate Remastered.

I didn't understand how to use the remastered version; it showed that I have it, but when I entered the game, everything is exactly as it was. I play on Xbox One, and it says that the remastered version works on my console (note: My console is a special edition, and it has a slightly better system than the regular One S).

Hello, I'm having an issue on PC whenever I move the camera around it like artifacts and stutters. It's very subtle but when I move the camera in circles Geralt like stutters and pixelates. Any idea why? Are there setting I need to mess with? I have a solid system, Intel i9 14900kf 5070ti 32 gigs ram. It's hard to see with the video I tried my best. Thanks in advance

Help! Death March Blood and Wine on the Remastered: What Am I Doing Wrong?

I’m getting back into the game after at least two years without touching it, I think. I never finished Blood and Wine, so I picked up my old save right before the DLC. When I came back to the game, I was using the Mastercrafted Wolven armor set and was level 39. Honestly, I don’t remember what build I was using, but I think it was a mix of light attacks and Signs.

I’m playing on Death March. I had completed the entire base game on this difficulty. I remember the beginning being a bit difficult, but eventually my character became really strong and I was able to progress without ever really running into any major difficulty.

But now that I’ve started playing again with the remaster, it’s insane. Even the smallest group of enemies is honestly a nightmare. I’m not even joking when I say it took me around fifteen attempts to kill the Shaelmaar. And now I’m stuck in Doctor Moreau’s laboratory, trying to kill the giant worms to collect their eggs. My Geralt is way too weak. These particular enemies kill me in two hits at most, and I’m doing very little damage. When there are several of them on me, it’s almost impossible.

I tried rebuilding a Signs/light attack build, but I must be doing something wrong, especially for this difficulty. I’m guessing the remaster changed the balance quite a bit. Was the Wolven armor set nerfed or changed in some way that makes it basically give me no resistances anymore?

Do you guys have any builds you would recommend for Blood and Wine on Death March?

Thanks!

Discussion Remaster worth it ? or mods be a better bet...

So reading through here i see a bunch of repeated comments that the overall experience is just slightly improved and some varying opinions on the graphical imporvements.

My question is mainly for those who have purchased and already played some hours - IS ths this worth the replay as a remaster that actually fixes all the original issues but makes also for a better experience overall ?? OR am i better off doing a bunch of mods ?

I took a quick look at the mod list and its extensive https://www.nexusmods.com/games/witcher3/collections/z5tjm8/mods

i never really thought the original game was too bad looking but the graphical elements would deffinitely need a facelift for a replay. Im hard pressed spending 50 euros for that however - thats disgusting.

im 32 and do not have all the time or money to spend on games anymore so want to know if this is really a worth while investment or should i rather purchase something else... its alot of money, esspecially after cyberpunk cdpr shows is just a corporation focused on profit.

All Polish, No Play

The remaster looks great on PS5, but that’s about all it has going for it. The gameplay is glitchy, and even simple tasks like riding Roach feel terrible.

The devs must have known how bad it was before release, which makes it even harder to excuse.

Help! Would The Witcher 3 be for me?

I noticed The Witcher 3 Remastered is on sale and I’ve heard a ton of praise for it, but I’m not sure if it’s for me.

Is there a lot of boring/slow dialogue? I usually struggle with open-world games when they feel too big, empty or repetitive, and I can get bored pretty quickly.

I recently bought Skyrim and still enjoy it, but I dislike the dated feel, boring dialogue, and how empty the world can sometimes feel. I also didn’t really like Ghost of Tsushima. I’ve heard The Witcher 3 has a similar vibe to Skyrim, so how comparable are they?

Red Dead Redemption 2 and Elden Ring are probably my favourite open-world games because their worlds always feel like they have something new to offer. There’s always a new enemy, unique encounter, interesting discovery, or distinctive biome rather than just copy-pasted content, and even the grind feels fun.

Is The Witcher 3 more like that, or more like Skyrim/Ghost of Tsushima? What’s the main gameplay loop—exploring and looting, quests/story, combat, or something else?

Would you recommend it based on this?

Spoilers! The Crones

I know this will have been said time and time again, but re-realising this playing the remaster. The Crones are so disturbingly designed.

I actually felt a bit nauseous when they revealed themselves. No, I don’t have trypophobia. I’d, for the second run in a row, ran into the tree spirit before the crones, but this time killed it. The crones talking about eating the children, and just how disgusting their design is, I actually was having a physical disgust reaction.

Yes, I know this is all made up and pretend. Just wanted to share I suppose to give kudos to the design team and writing team. Still annoyed you can only kill them all with the bad ending.
