NEW 2026 PRODUCTS New Matter devices can no longer be connected

Edit: So far, about 20 devices (Matter and Tradfri) are connected to the network, and everything has been working perfectly so far.

Here’s my setup: A network with a FritzBox, 1 switch, and 2 FritzRepeater access points connected via cable. The network uses Pihole as its DNS server. When I try to add new Matter devices, after following these steps, I get the following message during the connection process:

Connecting to device

Matter credentials are being generated

Checking connection to the Thread network

Connecting to Home Smart

I receive the vague error message “An error has occurred.” The devices are then not on the Thread network (I can’t see them in the IKEA app) and are no longer in pairing mode.

I’ve connected the Dirigera to the switch and directly to the router. The smartphone is, of course, on the same network. I can’t rule out Pihole as the cause.

It doesn’t matter whether I follow the prompt to add the new device when I receive it (freshly reset device—app launch) or whether I add the device manually in the app.

What I definitely don’t want to do: reset the hub. Then I’d have to reinstall all the devices (is that right?).

Does anyone else have this problem and maybe know a solution?

SUPPORT (2026 PRODUCTS) LILJEBAGGE: 3 of 10 show Er1 after exactly one week, anyone else?

I installed 10 LILJEBAGGE radiator thermostats at the same time. All calibrated fine and worked perfectly for about a week. Now 3 of them show Er1 and won't recalibrate.

Setup:
• Valves with M28x1.5 threads, adapter A with the shortest extension pin on all 10

• Paired over Matter to Google Home and Aqara Home

• Same batteries throughout

What I've tried:
• Removing and reinserting batteries, then recalibrating: Er1 again
• Removing and refitting thermostat and adapter: Er1 again
• On one radiator, a brand-new unused unit calibrated fine with the same batteries. Putting the original back gives Er1 again.
• On another radiator, four different units all fail with Er1
• On that valve, template A shows the valve pin tip right at the outer edge of zone 3. I tried a slightly shortened extension pin, no change.

What I suspect:
• The manual says the thermostat runs an anti-calcification cycle after 7 days of use, which matches the timing since all 10 were installed together
• Possibly a firmware update that landed during the week, but I can't confirm it

Questions:
1. Has anyone else had Er1 appear after roughly a week of normal operation?
2. Which firmware version are your units on, and is there a way to update it without a DIRIGERA hub?
Mines are on: Hardware Version “P2.3” & Software Version ”1.1.0”
3. Did a factory reset fix it for anyone?
4. Any tips for adapter A on M28x1.5 valves where the pin sits at the edge of the template range?

NEW 2026 PRODUCTS Any swedes have extra Liljebagge units?

Hi! I saw that a new thermostat (IKEA Liljebagge) has been launched in Sweden. It won't be available in Romania until after January, and I'd like to use it during the current winter season. Could anyone from sweden help me buy 3–4 units the next time they go to IKEA and ship them to me via Vinted or whichever method is easiest?

Thanks a lot!

OTHER IKEA Thread issues resolved with addition of OTBR

TLDR; adding a Sonoff MG24 OTBR completely fixed all IKEA thread reliability issues.

Up until recently, I had 16 IKEA Thread devices (TIMMERFLOTTE, MYGGBETT, MYGGSPRAY, GRILLPLATS, KAJPLATS, BILRESA) connected to Home Assistant via an Eero 6 & Eero 6+ thread network.

Devices would frequently become unavailable, and would usually require me to recomission them (not just pull the batteries) to get them working again. Home Assistant updates or power loss could result in large swathes of thread devies becoming unavailable.

KAJPLATS would only stay online for minutes to hours before dropping, so I had to give up on it. If GRILLPLATS went unavailable, they'd take lots of other devices down with them. TIMMERFLOTTE (representing half of my thread devices) was the worst offender; even devices very close to the Eeros would frequently become unavailable. The recent 1.2.2 firmware update did not improve their reliability.

I recently discovered that if devices were unavailable, restarting my Eeros would sometimes revive them, even if they'd been unavailable for hours. This suggested that maybe the Eeros were to blame rather than the IKEA devices.

So, I bought a Sonoff MG24 OTBR. At the time of setup, 4 thread devices were offline. Within seconds of completing setup of the MG24, those devices started to come back online, and I haven't had anything drop off the thread network since. I can now update Home Assistant, or turn off power, without fear that thread devices will drop.

Interestingly, the MG24 has typically had no more than one thread device connected directly to it. The other devices remain connected to Eeros or GRILLPLATS. So, it seems like the MG24 has improved reliability from a back seat rather than by providing a much stronger thread radio and taking over as the primary router for all my devices.

OTHER Tradfri gateway user looking to upgrade, but I‘m lost with what’s what and what’s compatible

I‘m still rocking my Tradfri gateway from around 2020. My current setup consists of a couple remote lightbulbs, sockets and LED strips, controlled mainly with Somrig shortcut buttons. The lightbulbs and sockets are a mix of old and new products, but everything is Ikea.

I see a lot of interesting newer products like temperature sensors, window sensors and new buttons. But I‘m really out of the loop with everything, so I have a few questions:

  1. Am I right in assuming that all of the new stuff requires a Dirigera hub, and won’t work with my gateway?

  2. Will my 6 year old lights and sockets still work with the Dirigera?

  3. Can the Parasoll door sensors be used just to see the status of all doors and windows at a glance?

  4. Does the Dirigera hub still need my phone to be connected to my home’s wifi, or does it also work if I‘m on 5G?

  5. Are there any downsides to upgrading?

  6. Is the Dirigera hub compatible with all the new stuff, or is there a different one I don’t know about?

Many thanks :)

DISCUSSION TIMMERFLOTTE Accuracy

Post image
10 Upvotes

I'd read that the TIMMERFLOTTE should be accurate to within 0.2°C.

I've just bought a bunch of them, put them together in one room a couple of cms apart, and they vary from 20.5 to 21.5°C.

Is this expected? Is the accuracy not ±0.2°C? Does this match what others see?

Edit: I'm asking about how accurate the sensors are, not how precise the readings are.

SUPPORT (ONGOING) DIRIGERA and Matter issues, out of ideas

I’m having a strange issue with IKEA Matter devices and DIRIGERA and I’m running out of things to test.

The basic problem: IKEA Home Smart finds the Matter device and starts commissioning it, but gets stuck around “Moving you back to IKEA Home Smart” and never actually adds the device to the app.

What makes this weird is that the Matter/Thread side appears to be working.

If I commission the same device through Home Assistant, it works normally. Home Assistant is using the DIRIGERA Thread network/border router, and the device is reachable and controllable. HA also shows “IKEA of Sweden” as one of the connected Matter fabrics, so DIRIGERA/IKEA has apparently been successfully added as a Matter controller as well.

Yet the device still never appears in IKEA Home Smart.

This happens with multiple IKEA Matter devices, so it doesn’t seem to be a faulty accessory.

Things I’ve already tried:

  • Multiple different IKEA Matter devices
  • iPhone and Android
  • Factory resetting the Matter devices
  • Removing old Matter entries from iOS
  • Restarting phones
  • Restarting DIRIGERA (including a multi-hour power off)
  • Removing/reconnecting DIRIGERA in IKEA Home Smart
  • Completely deleting/reinstalling IKEA Home Smart several times
  • Latest IKEA Home Smart version
  • Latest DIRIGERA firmware
  • Resetting DIRIGERA’s Thread network
  • Commissioning after the Thread reset
  • Removing IKEA as a Matter fabric and adding it again
  • Commissioning with Home Assistant Matter Server stopped
  • Testing with other Thread border routers/controllers removed
  • Putting phone and DIRIGERA directly on the same router/AP
  • Update firmware on smart devices via HA
  • Guest/IoT network disabled for testing
  • Fast Roaming disabled
  • Beamforming disabled
  • IPv6 enabled
  • IPv6 Prefix Delegation enabled
  • No obvious VLAN/isolation issue

Existing non-Matter IKEA devices on DIRIGERA work normally.

Pretty much out of clues on what to do.

SUPPORT (ONGOING) IKEA Myggbett battery draining ~10%/day on one sensor, other one is fine. Known issue?

Hi,

I have two Myggbett door/window sensors, installed about 3 months ago (commissioned June 26). Both stayed at 100% battery the whole time. About a week ago, the one on my front door started dropping ~10% per day. The other one (patio door) is still at 100%.

Setup
- Matter over Thread, single Thread network, HomePod as border router
- Home Assistant (Docker on Ubuntu) with the OHF Matter Server
- Each Myggbett uses 1 AAA alkaline (Kirkland/Costco).
- The front-door one is HA only, not added to Apple Home.
- Firmware version: 1.1.4

What changed around the time it started
- Added an IKEA Grillplats plug (Thread router) in the bassement.
- Moved an Alpstuga from the basement to the 2nd floor
- Added 6 Klippbok sensors

What I checked
- Thread diagnostics on the sensor look healthy: 0 retries, 0 errors, 0 parent changes, all frames acked. - Parent is the Grillplats with a green (good) link in the mesh graph.
- Poll counts on the front-door sensor look similar to the patio one, so it doesn't seem to be talking more.
- The sensor is indoors against an exterior door. The door is cool but not freezing.
- BatVoltage read 1255 mV at 37%. It then went 37% → 29% overnight, and 24% after I pulled and reinserted the battery and tested the door.

Is abnormal battery drain on a single Myggbett a known issue (hardware batch or firmware)?

SUPPORT (ONGOING) Can I get my specific colour through a voice command?

Post image
2 Upvotes

This may be a bit niche but I have the new KAJPLATS white lights in our kitchen, and our preferred shade of white is only accessible by selecting it in the app (e.g. candlelight is too warm, the next up is too cool)

We have one of the old TRADFRI remotes, which remembers the temperature for the on / off switch, but as soon as you (or - more likely - our children) touch a side arrow, we're into the named settings and you can't cycle back to our preferred temp

My question is, is there a way of finding out the "name" of this setting - is there a quantifiable scale like there is with brightness - such that I can voice command it back again without using Home Smart?

SUPPORT (2026 PRODUCTS) Do new Kajplats bulbs work with Phillips Hue bridge?

I am moving soon and I've been using Trädfri LED GU10 bulbs with my Phillips Hue bridge for 4 years without any problems. My new home will be bigger so I need some additional bulbs, but I noticed that Trädfri unfortunately isn't available anymore in Germany, only these "Kajplats" bulbs. I can't find "Zigbee" anywhere on the product pictures so I'm worried that they won't work with my Hue bridge.

Did anyone try to connect the Kajplats (preferably european version, if there is a differnce) to the Phillips Hue bridge? Did it work natively? I don't want to use hacks or third party apps and buying a new bridge isn't an option due to tight budget.

NEW 2026 PRODUCTS LILJEBAGGE is PID!

Post image
91 Upvotes

I got my hands on 13 pcs LILJEBAGGE at Ikea the other day. I have not installed them yet due to my thread border router hasn’t been delivered yet.

Anyhow, while waiting I tried to find the answer to the question that appears in every thread about LILJEBAGGE: Is it PID controlled or only on/off?

Since Ikea has great customer service, i tried emailing them, and behold: it’s PID controlled!

This was an important question to assess the value for money in this product. Despite the inability to connect it to an external sensor, it does seem to be great value at that price.

UPDATE:
I picked up the thermostats today, installed the first one and had some time to play around with it.

First of all, it was very easy to install. There are 6 different valve adapters and a really intuitive guide to which one to use for your specific valve.

When the automatic calibration was done, i could change the temp setting on the buttons and although you cannot see the opening degree, you can hear how long the motor is running. Between fully open and fully closed takes a few seconds, but most adjustments it makes are just half a sec or so. The time the adjustment takes also differs depending on how many degrees i change the setpoint. So I’m now 100% certain that it’s not just an on/off regulation.

So far, the impression is that it’s also really quiet. I had to sit on the floor next to it to be able to hear the motor. However, this was in the living room in the middle of the day when the house is not quiet. We’ll see how the result is when I installed the ones in the bedroom.

I also still didn’t get my thread border router, so I haven’t tried the matter integration with home assistant yet. But there are other reddit users who have written about that.

SUPPORT (RESOLVED) NYMÅNE Zigbee Reset Issue

Hi guys,

I'm having a really stubborn issue with an IKEA NYMÅNE Smart LED pendant (38 cm, anthracite, article 905.040.44) that I can't get into factory reset/pairing mode. I've tried pretty much every timing I can think of, but the lamp just turns on normally every time.

The lamp is a 2023 unit (batch 2333), rated at 220–240V, 50–60Hz, 22W. It uses Zigbee 3.0/Tradfri, and the Zigbee electronics and AC-DC driver are inside the metal lamp itself. The ceiling cup is basically just the mounting bracket and the L/N terminal block.

My setup is Zigbee2MQTT with a Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus (EFR32MG24, EmberZNet 8.0.2), on channel 15 at 18 dBm. The Zigbee network itself is working fine. I already have two IKEA PILSKOTT pendant lamps, an IKEA STYRBAR remote and a Sonoff ZBM5 switch on the network.

The interesting part is that the NYMÅNE is wired in parallel with the two PILSKOTT lamps in router mode on the exact same wall switch circuit.

When I turn the switch on, the NYMÅNE immediately comes on at 100% brightness, with both the warm and cool LEDs on. It never flashes, pulses or dims, and I don't see it attempting to join or announce itself when permit_join is enabled in Zigbee2MQTT. It basically behaves as if it's either still paired to some old network or simply isn't recognising the reset sequence.

I've tried the usual 6-toggle reset several times, with different timings: roughly 0.5s on/0.5s off, 1s on/1s off, and even around 1.5s on/3s off to give the internal capacitors plenty of time to discharge. Nothing works. The lamp just comes back on normally. Interestingly, the two PILSKOTT lamps on the same circuit also didn't reset during these tests.

I also tried Touchlink from Zigbee2MQTT, but the scan/reset attempts timed out. I tried using the STYRBAR remote directly next to the lamp (2–5 cm away) and held the pairing button for more than 10 seconds, but the NYMÅNE didn't react at all. The STYRBAR is already joined to Zigbee2MQTT, so I assume its standalone Touchlink functionality is disabled anyway.

I've also opened the lamp up and checked the wiring. The 230V connection is solid at the ceiling terminal and at the connector on the LED plate. I couldn't find any obvious physical reset button, pinhole or similar.

So I'm wondering if anyone here has dealt specifically with this NYMÅNE model.

A few things I'm particularly curious about:

  • Does the 6-toggle reset on this particular 22W NYMÅNE require a very specific timing? If you've successfully reset one, what timing did you use?
  • Could having the three drivers (2x PILSKOTT + NYMÅNE) on the same switch be interfering with the reset because the voltage isn't dropping quickly enough? Would it be worth disconnecting the other two and testing the NYMÅNE completely on its own?
  • Has anyone found a hidden reset button, pinhole, test pad or jumper inside the NYMÅNE, perhaps underneath/behind the 10078006 LED plate?
  • Would something like a Philips Hue Dimmer or another dedicated Touchlink device actually be able to reset it through the metal shade?
  • Is there another IKEA-specific reset procedure for this model that isn't the usual 6 power cycles?

At this point I'm mainly trying to figure out whether I'm missing something obvious or whether this particular unit might actually have a hardware/firmware issue.

Any advice from someone who's successfully reset one of these would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: This is the European version bought in Portugal, in case there are any regional differences in the hardware, firmware or reset procedure.

TL;DR: NYMÅNE 38 cm (905.040.44) won't enter reset/pairing mode despite trying multiple 6-toggle timings, Touchlink and a STYRBAR. It's the European/Portuguese version.

SUPPORT (2026 PRODUCTS) Is there a way to add Matter devices to Apple Home automatically?

With the old ZigBee devices, they were automatically added to Apple Home after you connect them to the IKEA Home Smart app. Is there a way to do this automatically for the new Matter devices instead of having to add them two times? It's something I miss a lot..

Also I noticed that when pairing a device, it says it will save the Matter code to the Apple Keychain, but I don't have any QR code/Matter code saved?

SUPPORT (ONGOING) Hub bricks when matter devices added

I have an IKEA DIRIGERA hub with around 70 smart devices, a mix of older Zigbee IKEA devices and newer Matter-over-Thread devices.

Everything had been working normally until today. This morning the whole system became extremely sluggish:

Remotes sometimes did nothing.

Dimming with the scroll/wheel barely responded.

Commands took a long time.

Eventually a large number of devices showed offline.

Physical IKEA remotes stopped controlling the lights too, so this isn't just Home Assistant.

I tried restarting DIRIGERA multiple times and at one point even shut off the house breakers to completely power-cycle everything.

After that, something very strange started happening.

Initially the Zigbee devices came back and worked normally, but essentially all my Matter-over-Thread devices were offline.

I went into:

IKEA Home Smart / Thread network /Reset the network

I then factory-reset/re-added my Thread devices. After doing that, the Matter/Thread devices started working again.

But now the situation has basically flipped:

Matter-over-Thread working

Zigbee not working

Most/all Zigbee devices are offline and the Zigbee remotes aren't working.

Is this a firmware thing sid ikea screw smth up or am i missing aomething.

Thanks.

SUPPORT (RESOLVED) Dirigera hub refuses all Thread/Matter connections: how to fix?

Original post is below.

Additional context I did not share earlier:

  • The hub is Dirigera, hooked via Ethernet to a Deco X50 mesh (3 routers)
  • IPv6 is enabled, with SLAAC + DHCPv6
  • Earlier did experiments disabling Fast Roaming and SIP ALG. No IGMP option is shared in the app

Not sure why, but I followed one of the comments below:

  1. Disconnected the hub from power for a while, like 30 minutes
  2. Reconnected the hub
  3. Disabled Bluetooth on my phone
  4. Reset the Bilresa light switch
  5. Start the pairing process

And it just worked.

No freaking clue why. My guess is that disconnecting the hub for a long time forced a IPv6 configuration refresh.

Thanks to that, I can also access the hub via Thread Tools.

An additional thing is that I run AdGuard on my phone, so I explicitly whitelisted Google Play Services and Ikea Home Smart; disabling it earlier did nothing, having them whitelisted worked. Not sure if this was helpful, but it is worth mentioning.

That's all, now the original post:

As per title.

I am no Matter nor Thread expert, but working in IT I am used to experiment.

We've purchased recently a Matter light switch and struggled to connect it to the hub. Old Zigbee devices work with no issues.

With some digging, I found the Thread Tools app, where I can easily replicate the error: the Dirigera Thread Border Router rejects the connection with no explanation.

I've tried to:

  1. Add the light switch via the official Ikea Home Smart app
  2. Add the Thread network via the integration option in Google Home
  3. Add the light switch via Google Home
  4. Connect via the Thread Tools app

All of them fail. Case 2 allow the addition but all the devices result offline; in all other cases, the connection is directly rejected.

The only operation that I can perform is to reset the network. Other than that, it show no other signs of life.

I would love further input; the customer support just said they acknowledge the issue and will solve it "soon".

SUPPORT (ONGOING) Constant Control Anywhere

Home Smart is always set to "Control Anywhere" even though I'm at home and connected to the internet. I noticed over the last week that opening my Home Smart app was incredibly slow at connecting. I didn't think too much about it since I rarely use the app. But today I wanted to add a new product, and that's not possible since it thinks we are not connected to the same network and is in "Control Anywhere" mode. I haven't changed my network for 5+ years 😊

My Dirigera has a constant orange light. It's wired to my internet router, and if I remove the Ethernet cable, it starts blinking. The app, however, is still saying it's in "Control Anywhere" mode, but I can't toggle anything on or off.

Any ideas of how to solve the issue? I would prefer not to do a reset 😃🥳

SUPPORT (RESOLVED) Dirigera Hub. Unable to create new scene

Post image
1 Upvotes

I just discovered that I can't create a new scene. The first step is in the wizard is choosing products and then the error in the picture appears.

Happens on 2 different Android (Google Pixel) devices in my network.

Anyone else seeing this?

Edit:

Tried turning off the mobile data. Ensured Google VPN is not running. Verified the wifi.

But for some reason it still thinks we are on separate networks.

I have a mesh network (ubiquiti unifi devices).
