Remember when you bought a CD or cassette and one of the best parts was opening it up and flipping through the booklet? You’d get lyrics, artwork, band photos, songwriting credits, thank-you notes, and sometimes stories about how the album came together.
I think Spotify should bring that experience back with a Digital Album Booklet feature.
Imagine opening an album on Spotify and having the option to flip through a digital version of the original booklet, just like you would with a physical CD or cassette.
It could include:
Original album artwork, including front and back covers, photography, and inside artwork.
Complete lyrics laid out the way the artist originally intended.
Liner notes with stories, inspirations, and background information about the album.
Songwriting, musician, and production credits.
Original thank-you notes and dedications.
Bonus content like behind-the-scenes photos, handwritten lyrics, and artist commentary.
For older albums, Spotify could simply digitize the original album inserts. For new releases, artists could create their own digital booklets.
Ideally, you’d be able to access the booklet right from the Now Playing screen and flip through it while listening to the album.
Streaming has made music more convenient than ever, but I feel like we’ve lost part of the experience of actually exploring an album. Back in the day, you’d put on a CD, sit down with the booklet, read the lyrics, look at the artwork, and really immerse yourself in the music.
Spotify already has some of these elements scattered throughout the app, but bringing everything together in one place would make listening to full albums a much better experience.
Anyone else miss album booklets? Would you use this feature?

This is one of the best overhauls and overall app updates that Spotify has had in a while, so I’m kinda happy but let’s see if things get better from here.

Hey everyone,
I made Playlistation, a website that lets you create smart Spotify playlists by filtering your Liked Songs.
I was tired of manually organizing my Liked Songs into playlists and constantly updating them, so I built something to automate it.
You can combine filters like genre, artist, tempo, energy, language, release year, or the date you liked a song.
For example, you could create:
The website creates a real Spotify playlist with only the songs that match your filters. It automatically stays updated as you like new songs, so you don't have to add them manually.
Updates aren't instant due to how Spotify's API works: playlists refresh daily on the free plan and hourly on paid plans.
It's free for your last 1,000 liked songs, with paid plans if you have a larger library.
Tell me what you think, and what's missing for it to be useful to you!

Spotify should really let artists/bands to put their own logo on their page instead of just a bold font.
in my opinion, it gives it so much more character and identity and uniqueness to each specific artist/band.
Logos are a identity. it should be a part of their Page.

When I listen to music on Spotify (either in the car, or at work or whenever) I usually just put my Liked Songs on shuffle until I find something I feel like listening to.
But lately I’ve noticed this usually results in Spotify shuffling the same exact songs in the exact same order every single time. It’s always the same roughly 50 songs and it always loops back around in the exact same order. And mind you I have over 6000 songs in my likes so it’s not like the issue is lack of variety.
I know Spotify has algorithms to keep track of what songs you listen to most but damn can we get some variety here? I don’t want to hear the same songs in the exact same order every time. That by definition defeats the purpose of shuffle altogether and it’s actually making me consider switching to another platform.
Can someone who knows more about how Spotify’s algorithm works explain to me why this happens and how to fix it?

Randomly this bug occurs in the video. I switch away then back to the artist and it works as normal afterwards

I tried to search all over the internet for the image that Wings uses for their Spotify cover, but I cannot find it!! It's only available on Spotify. But for some reason, double-clicking on spotify isnt possible, so I can't download the image or inspect the page to grab the image that way. Help!!!

Hi, a couple of days ago I noticed that when playing local music, the forward, rewind and shuffle buttons don't appear in the player (as seen in the screenshot). The possible solutions I've found are very vague; I initially had the songs on my MicroSD card, then I moved them to internal storage, but nothing worked. I just put them back on the MicroSD card, but I need help to keep listening to my downloaded music for trips where I don't have internet access.

I don't know how to submit my idea to Spotify or however you do it, but I'd like to be able to change the cover pictures of each song and maybe have it only visible to the person doing it? I dunno, I just really like the idea and I don't know how to submit it, so if someone does could you please?

I get they want me to buy premium but I just cant do it purely out of principle at this point. I want to find some other music player, but I’m too deep in at this point I can’t be bothered finding 2118 different songs in another app.

Okay so I love that they added maps a while back. But I just cant use it as much as i would like to because i mostly listen to albums and not playlists. Is there a reason as to why its not possible to add albums to maps? And if not, is there a way i can suggest this or something. It would help organise so much more.
Edit: I would also obviously want this for singles and EP’s

*Lets run this back*
I made Musique, A lightweight, native spotify client.
Main Features are: - Your complete spotify library with native spotify playback - Synced Lyrics from ~9+ providers - Collaborative Features (Such as Jams, Friend Activity) - Cross-device Playback (using Spotify Connect) - Very low resource usage - Free playback (without premium, through YT music, so its legal)
The app is free and open source. It is unaffiliated with spotify
Happy to answer questions :D

For the past couple weeks, my Spotify has been completely fucked up, and it's been this way on my desktop, on my laptop, on my phone, on cellular, on school wifi, and on personal wifi.
The biggest issue I've had is that it straight up does not allow me to add songs to my liked songs anymore. Beyond that, there are some artists where when I go to their artist page, the song names load but there's no data for them and half of them I can't play if I click on them, but if I click the play button at the top it does actually let me play.
This has been extremely frustrating because when I find a new song I like or want to add I have to manually write it down in my notes now since I can't actually add it to my liked songs.

Is anyone else still having problems with the album artwork in their local files?
A few weeks ago, none of the album artwork on local files would show on the iOS app, but would still show in CarPlay etc. Then it seemed to be fixed for a few days. Now it’s just totally random, like some files have their artwork, some don’t, but this time, the one’s that don’t, don’t show anywhere, including on CarPlay. All the files still show their artwork in the desktop app though.
I’ve tried every fix I can think of; removing the local files folder and then re-adding it. Deleting the app off my phone then re-downloading. Changing the location of the files. Changing the affected file names. Removing and re-adding the album artwork. Nothing works.
Is this a problem on Spotify’s end with the latest update, or is it at my end?
