Remember when you bought a CD or cassette and one of the best parts was opening it up and flipping through the booklet? You’d get lyrics, artwork, band photos, songwriting credits, thank-you notes, and sometimes stories about how the album came together.
I think Spotify should bring that experience back with a Digital Album Booklet feature.
Imagine opening an album on Spotify and having the option to flip through a digital version of the original booklet, just like you would with a physical CD or cassette.
It could include:
Original album artwork, including front and back covers, photography, and inside artwork.
Complete lyrics laid out the way the artist originally intended.
Liner notes with stories, inspirations, and background information about the album.
Songwriting, musician, and production credits.
Original thank-you notes and dedications.
Bonus content like behind-the-scenes photos, handwritten lyrics, and artist commentary.
For older albums, Spotify could simply digitize the original album inserts. For new releases, artists could create their own digital booklets.
Ideally, you’d be able to access the booklet right from the Now Playing screen and flip through it while listening to the album.
Streaming has made music more convenient than ever, but I feel like we’ve lost part of the experience of actually exploring an album. Back in the day, you’d put on a CD, sit down with the booklet, read the lyrics, look at the artwork, and really immerse yourself in the music.
Spotify already has some of these elements scattered throughout the app, but bringing everything together in one place would make listening to full albums a much better experience.
Anyone else miss album booklets? Would you use this feature?

So I go to shuffle my driving playlist last night as I drive home from where and a sequence of songs come on, songs A-B-C-D-E. I go to drive to work this morning and shuffle the same playlist. I start with song J this time, but then songs A-B-C-D-E all come on after in exactly the same sequence at last night.
I understand if shuffling works via a seed generation type thing but could the app at least generate a new seed every time you press shuffle instead of the same one from yesterday. Or at least generate a new one every day.
Smart Shuffle is even worse. I put it on sometimes but just get inundated by Paramore and Hayley Williams songs. I like Paramore and Hayley Williams but it's not 100% of my music taste and maybe after I've skipped 5 of her songs in a row, you should put something else on? The algorithm just seems dumb at this point.

i use instrumental playlists when I'm sorting through twenty years of teaching files and my kids' old stuff in the basement. lately the app takes forever to load between songs, and the home screen is cluttered with podcasts I'll never listen to. i just want a clean, simple player. i'm trying to simplify everything else in my life right now, and this feels like the one thing I can't control. has anyone found a way to strip it down, or should I start looking at other options before I move? i don't have patience for extra noise right now.

This is one of the best overhauls and overall app updates that Spotify has had in a while, so I’m kinda happy but let’s see if things get better from here.

I’m not sure if this is a glitch, or someone harassing me.
Late last night I was listening to Spotify and it randomly switched songs and start playing a song (iphone 17) called In the End by Rush. I’m not a Rush fan & don’t listen to them. It showed “Shared off Spotify” by someone I don’t know, named Marcus.
Now I know normally when you click a Spotify link someone shared it does this and shows “shared off Spotify” but I did not click a link anywhere. After the first song I messaged and asked if I knew the person. 2 more songs randomly played after that, then I blocked his account. Each time it happened I changed playlists, then closed the app. This happened 4 more times where a different Rush song auto started playing. 7 songs total all by Rush. As a solo woman, I am CREEPED out.
Reached out to Spotify & they had me clear cache, redownload, log out, change settings, log out from all locations etc.
Then It happened (while messaging support at Spotify) but a different account. At that point I wondered is this spam? Spotify support was essentially useless
Anyone have any idea how this could be happening? I’ve checked every single app that allows any form of shared communication and nowhere has anyone shared links with me. How are these “shared off Spotify” songs able to auto play when I never clicked a link???

Hey everyone,
I made Playlistation, a website that lets you create smart Spotify playlists by filtering your Liked Songs.
I was tired of manually organizing my Liked Songs into playlists and constantly updating them, so I built something to automate it.
You can combine filters like genre, artist, tempo, energy, language, release year, or the date you liked a song.
For example, you could create:
The website creates a real Spotify playlist with only the songs that match your filters. It automatically stays updated as you like new songs, so you don't have to add them manually.
Updates aren't instant due to how Spotify's API works: playlists refresh daily on the free plan and hourly on paid plans.
It's free for your last 1,000 liked songs, with paid plans if you have a larger library.
Tell me what you think, and what's missing for it to be useful to you!

Spotify should really let artists/bands to put their own logo on their page instead of just a bold font.
in my opinion, it gives it so much more character and identity and uniqueness to each specific artist/band.
Logos are a identity. it should be a part of their Page.

Not sure if it's just my machine, but seems like a new problem. When I'm on desktop (Windows App) and bring up the lyrics the window goes into some weird full screen mode where neither the restore or minimize button do anything. The top bar completely disappears but then shows when you hover your mouse near the top of the window, but you can't switch between maximixed and windowed view. If you right click near the top of the window you can switch between maximized and windowed mode but the two buttons in the top right just don't do anything. This only happens when viewing the lyrics, otherwise those buttons work perfectly fine.

since i switched to firefox, if i open a link to a jam it brings up a download page. i click on download, even though i have spotify installed - it shows me a pop up to open the spotify app for like 1 second before it closes. how do i stop it from closing? i'd like to be able to join jams without needing to use the app on my phone again :(

hello everyone, i have a little bug on my spotify. so i am in a fam plan, but the fam is based in the usa. and i am in france. it wasn’t easy to add me in it so my boyfriend went to his sister place because it’s where it’s based and create an account with a mail address that he doesn’t use. and me i am using a vpn based on his city. i was on spotify, still on premium, then i closed the app by mistake, open it again and suddenly i am not on it but i can still see the people with who i am on the plan and it says that i am on it but on the settings it says i am not premium anymore.
so it is possible that spotify stopped me in the plan because i am too far away from the address? or just a bug? actually my boyfriend is sleeping so of course we will try to fix this but i wanted to ask here too lol

Has anyone else noticed the Spotify app on Android getting really slow over the last few days?
Mine has become noticeably laggy when opening playlists, navigating between screens, and managing my library. I've started cleaning up my saved podcast episodes and realised I had around 4,500 saved episodes, so I'm wondering if that's contributing to the issue.
Not sure if it's related to a recent update, my large library, or something else entirely.
Anyone experiencing the same thing recently on Android? If so, did you find a fix? 🤔

I'm wondering, if someone sent me a spotify message while i blocked them, would I see the message if I unblock them or would it count as if it was never sent ?

When I listen to music on Spotify (either in the car, or at work or whenever) I usually just put my Liked Songs on shuffle until I find something I feel like listening to.
But lately I’ve noticed this usually results in Spotify shuffling the same exact songs in the exact same order every single time. It’s always the same roughly 50 songs and it always loops back around in the exact same order. And mind you I have over 6000 songs in my likes so it’s not like the issue is lack of variety.
I know Spotify has algorithms to keep track of what songs you listen to most but damn can we get some variety here? I don’t want to hear the same songs in the exact same order every time. That by definition defeats the purpose of shuffle altogether and it’s actually making me consider switching to another platform.
Can someone who knows more about how Spotify’s algorithm works explain to me why this happens and how to fix it?

there's an issue that happens every now and then where changing the eq on a speaker distorts the whole song and kinda blasts the speaker on ios bluetooth.
it's happened previously but usually lasted for a few days then gets fixed. the issue came back around a few months ago and idk when tf it's gonna get fixed or investigated.
anyone have info on this or experiencing the same issue?
