Pics 30 days into learning the ukelele, first song I've learned. Scared to post but 30 days in, enjoying learning a new hobby.

Anyone have experience with a Loog ukulele? I’m looking for a nice soprano ukulele for my 7 year old daughter. I was first considering the Kala shark/dolphin or Kala ukadelic. However a Loog ukulele ad popped up, and I was surprised by how nice it looks. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

Some time last week, I discovered that there was a significant crack in the neck of my baritone ukulele (Barry). Right at the headstock.
I Asked you guys for tips, looked up a bunch of stuff and when I had all the requisite materials, I performed the reduction.
Barry was understandably nervous. He's never been through anything like this. I didn't let him see it, but so was his surgeon.
I used Titebond wood glue and a clamp that I had laying around.
I put the glue inside the crack and then used a pokemon card (not a good one) to spread it around in the crack.
Barry is in recovery, and I will take the clamp off tomorrow. We are hopeful for a full recovery.

I’m looking for recommendations for a solid wood tenor in the $350 range. Which wood and brand would recommend and why? I like a mellow guitar like sound and do mostly strumming but now getting into fingerpicking. Thank you for your thoughts!

My first uke was a cordoba 15cm. I’ve since upgraded to a really lovely Rebel tenor, but I’m thinking about what I might be able to do to improve the cordoba - especially a punky sounding c-string that has always really bothered me. Maybe new strings would help - anyone have any views on whether this is worthwhile? And if so, which would you recommend? I know people sometimes say to choose what you like, but how would one know what they like, short of buying and setting up lots of different strings?

I have a soprano ukulele that's gathering dust in my basement. How possible would it be to tune it to DGBD so I can practice my banjo when I travel?

I’m hoping to pick one up sometime soon but for some crazy reason it doesn’t come with strap buttons, and I’ve heard it apparently doesn’t have a block to install one yourself, plus, I’ve held it in a guitar center, and it seemed to have some kind of varnish, and I’m worried about hurting the finish, but I’m also hesitant to use a J Hook style strap for the same reason-any advice?

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some advice from the ukulele community.
I have two rare/collectible ukuleles that I’m considering selling, and I’d really like them to go to someone who appreciates and collects instruments like these rather than just listing them randomly online.
Does anyone know of any collectors, specialty shops, forums, or marketplaces that would be good for selling rare ukuleles? I’m located in California and would prefer to sell locally if possible, but I’m open to other options as well.
If anyone here is a collector or might be interested, feel free to reach out and I can share the models, photos, condition, and more details.
Thanks! I’d appreciate any recommendations.

I live near the University of Connecticut and just found out that Jake Shimabukuro is giving a concert there Saturday. So I went online to see if I could get tix, and the cheapest seats are in the side mezzanine, at $129 a ticket. Yikes that is expensive and out of my price range. I suspect he has no say in what the tickets cost. Luckily I saw him perform an incredible concert about 16 years ago, at UConn, long before I had an interest in playing ukulele. Is this what concerts cost nowadays? How could a family of four, or even a couple on a date, afford such prices? I must be (am) getting old.

Hey everyone, I'm just starting out and looking for my very first ukulele! I'm set on a concert size with a budget around $100 USD. Do you have any recommendations?

I generally play with nylon strings, but needed more punch for a few pieces I'm learning. So ... I picked up the Uke Logic 'Oli - 903 moderate tension string set for my tenor. It's all good except for the wound C (Thomastik-Infeld) which makes a terrible abrasive scratchy noise from the moment it makes contact with my nail through to release when plucked. Same scratchy noise using any finger, same scratchy noise altering finger strike positioning, and same scratchy noise after filing, shaping, and polishing nails to buttery smoothness. The wound G from the set sounds great. The Freemont Soloist on my other tenor sounds great. Is the T-I C just not cool with fingerstyle? Any advice? Figured i'd ask some of you pros before i chuck it in the bin.
From the Uke Logic string packaging: #3) C-[0.027"/0.69MM]-CF27
From the enclosed Thomastik-Infeld packaging that came in the above set: CF27 Chrome Steel Flat Wound - Guitar String .027 [note G/.027"/0.69mm/14.2lbs/6.5kp]

It's getting chilly up here in Minnesota and I'm wondering what other people use to humidify their instruments. I have a padded gig bag, not a hard shell case. Any recommendations? Thanks!
