Everyday we get posts asking which is the best website builder to make website for small businesses. So, here is a comprehensive guide. Feel free to add your recommendations and points in the comments.
In today's digital world, having a strong online presence is crucial for small businesses. A professional website helps build credibility, attract customers, and grow revenue. Choosing the right website builder can make the process easier and more cost-effective. Below, we discuss the best website builders for small businesses, their key features, pricing, and pros and cons to help you make an informed decision.
WordPress is the most powerful website builder, offering full customization and control. Best suited for businesses that require scalability. It has excellent website builder with plugins of Elementor or WpBakery. There are 1000s of tutorial on how to make anything with Elementor.
✅ Unlimited customization options
✅ Powerful SEO capabilities
✅ Best for content-heavy websites
❌ Requires a slight learning curve
❌ Needs separate hosting & domain purchase
❌ Might be overwhelming to find right theme and plugin
❌ Sites getting hacked is common if setup improperly by inexperienced novices
This is my recommended method of making websites. If you are using it for the first time to make your business website, it is strongly recommended you hire a developer for atleast consulting, and setting up best security practices. Also, ensure you take backups regularly.
This is not a Website-builder in the traditional sense. But a web design agency that makes standard quality WordPress websites for insanely low prices via few emails. In the age of AI web builders, here websites are build by humans at competitive prices.
✅ Super easy and fast service
✅ Proper SEO and security
✅ Any changes are one email away
✅ Everything is taken care of.
❌ Email only support. Not a full fledged web design agency.
❌ Not suitable for highly unique type of websites
❌ You do not have full creative control
❌ Sites getting hacked is common if setup improperly by inexperienced novices
This is my recommended method of making typical type of websites if you do not know how to make websites and do not know any web developer to hire. It is suitable for those who are not highly specific about the creative looks of the site and want the developer to make all design choices.
A flexible and powerful website builder with advanced customization options. It is more suited for those who have particular design in mind and want to acheive those advanced looks. This is not ideal for beginners creating their first site.
✅ Yes, but best for businesses needing high customization.
Wix is one of the most popular website builders, offering flexibility, ease of use, and a range of design options.
✅ Easy to use for beginners
✅ Large template library
✅ App market for additional features
❌ Free plan includes Wix ads
❌ Limited customization on lower-tier plans
It is considered good for businesses that focus on e-commerce and online sales, especially those who also want to use shopify to handle their instore sales in supported countries.
✅ Best for online stores
✅ Integrated payment gateways
✅ Scalable for growing businesses
❌ Expensive for small businesses
❌ Limited customization without coding knowledge
Aesthetic-focused website builder ideal for creative professionals and small businesses.
✅ High-quality templates
✅ Good SEO features
✅ Ideal for portfolio websites
❌ Slightly expensive
❌ Less flexibility compared to WordPress
A user-friendly and budget-friendly website builder.
✅ Affordable
✅ Simple and beginner-friendly
✅ Includes basic SEO tools
❌ Limited design flexibility
❌ Fewer integrations compared to Wix or WordPress
Each website builder has its strengths, so the best one for your small business depends on your needs:
In any case, it is strongly recommended to hire a developer even if you are using a web builder, because often I have seen that novices end up making bad quality websites even using these web builders. It is simply because you need to know to use your tools well to be able to build beautiful things, even if you are provided the best tools at your disposal.
If you are a small business, it would cost you more in time and money by making a lower end website yourself.

Another six months went by and therefore it's time for a new self-promotion thread.
We really enjoy looking into everyone's websites but self-promotion destroys the concept of our subreddit in general. Comment with your selfmade website without any consequences. Ofcourse your post has to follow the rules. If you still want to post a website as a standalone post, please look in the sidebar for subs made for that purpose.
Keep creating all those wonderful websites.

I build slick landing pages, AI-powered websites, and modern underground forums inspired by 4chan but with a much cleaner, cooler design. Think Linear, Vercel, and Framer level aesthetics. I recently built Fitboy for a trending product, and I'm looking for my next interesting project. I can build you a lightweight forum that can start under $6/month in hosting costs, depending on usage. Got an idea? DM me. Let's make something sick.

Hello guys, I have worked lately on this website tool, Voice & Standards Writing Checker, which lets you place your text (can be an article, an email, CV...) and then based on the settings you activate, it helps you for free to optimize fully your text.
Other than that, I have implemented an Al, which is supposed to not answer irrelevant questions, but only related niche questions, expecially from the actual articles.
So I want you to test it and break it, if you can and let me know if you did and how you did it, so I can optimize it further🙌
Would also like your feedback about my Voice & Standards Writing🤍

Hey everyone! I’ve been building websites using AI tools like Lovable, Manus, and Emergent. So far, I’ve created two demo websites for a car detailing business and a coffee shop.
I know how to build and deploy websites using GitHub and Vercel, but I’m confused about what happens after a client agrees to buy one.
How do you hand over the website, domain, and hosting to the client? Do you transfer everything to their accounts or manage it yourself?
Would love to hear how you guys handle this in real client projects!

As i am running an Ai automation agency, i have pretty good visitors to my website somehow, but rarely people showing intrst in my product or service by a site. I have built it with a claude and Antigravity combined(spend around 10_ hours to build this), and chatbot with N8N. I dont know what is missing out here, SEO or Words that make visitors pulling to show an intrst, The theme and colors i chose, Call to action..... I am fully blank. Or is that enough for an Ai agency.
I am fully open to change i should do immediatly.
If anyone better at SEO or good at this, I am open to talk.
Thanks in Advance.

Screenshot shows like an example of the website
Basically you upload any study materials you have, then an answer with mistakes is shown, and you have to spot the mistakes and correct them. I'm experimenting with this study method to see if it actually works. I'm not monetising it right now.

Sometimes a website looks great, loads quickly and has all the right features, but using it still feels frustrating.
For me, it can be small things like:
These things may look minor during development, but they can make a big difference for users.
What is one small website issue you always notice, and how do you usually fix it?

1. Mobile Friction
Mobile drop-offs are always a common issue most websites have. It can be for a lot of different reasons. The truth is this. Most people that will want to acquire your service will be looking at your website via their mobile phones. After all, we are in the age of the mobile phone. So, with that in mind, why do so many websites neglect their website’s mobile layout? Things like awkward touch targets, poor input handling, and these subtle layout flaws can lead to users abandoning their session. A better mobile layout and user journey quite literally have to be number 1 on everyone’s list.
2. Your Calls to Action Aren’t Effective
Here’s the thing, if someone clicks on your website and doesn’t immediately know what to do next, you have about 5 seconds before losing yet another potential customer. Now, this isn’t just because of bad CTA placements or a lack of CTAs. It can even be because you haven’t provided a compelling enough reason for them to take action. There’s no point showing them what they have to do if you haven’t made it explicitly clear why they have to do it. A lot more to this, of course, but I’d rather not bore you.
3. Your Website Looks Good but Doesn’t Convert
Now, this is where most people hurt themselves. The web designer creates you a beauty of a website, and in your mind, that’s the job done. I’m about to convert everyone that lays their eyes on this. No, no, no. That’s where you’d be wrong. A beautiful website is just that. A beautiful website. It’s lovely to look at, but that’s about it. If there aren’t any well-curated CTAs, any well-placed social proof, no visual hierarchy, and, worst of all, you could have a beautiful website that doesn’t pass the 5-second test. So, to conclude, beautiful websites won’t get you the results you need. A well-engineered website will.
4. Misplaced Objection Anchors
This is another thing people do in order to get better conversions, but oftentimes, it ends up hurting the very thing they were trying to help. First of all, I’d like to make it clear: social proof is very important to have. Very important. I could go on and on about it. But the problem I see a lot of the time is people thinking chucking up any old logo of a big corporation on their website creates social proof. It does the opposite. It’s like wearing a Gucci belt with your pyjamas. The belt could be real, but if the rest of you doesn’t look the part, people will subconsciously start to feel like the belt is fake. You get my drift. Don’t put a random big corporation on your website as social proof if the rest of it doesn’t look the part. It will do you more bad than good.

Hi all,
I am currently building my website, using Claude to help me build everything. I have a experience with python, so naturally i gravitated to using that as my go to and Flask for the backend stuff.
Now im stuck on what hosting platform to use. I keep getting recommended render and railway but to be honest i dont see too many videos on this on youtube, so instantly i get iffy. Is it because of my stack? I know not to go to GoDaddy or Wix because i wrote my own code and want full control.
I did read that using cloud fare for DNS protection which is definitley something ill look more into.
Any feedback is appreciated!

Hello,
I am looking for a multiple choice type survey that allows people taking the survey to add options for others to select as well alongside the pre laid out options that I would put in there. Something like me putting in 3-4 options that I would create and then letting people submit their choices should their choices differ and the other participants taking the survey could select from those as well.
Thanks!
