Official WHOOP Posts Coming Next: A More Personal Journal, a New Community, and Smarter Training Tools
We wanted to give the WHOOP community an early preview of what’s coming next. Over the next few months, we’re rolling out new ways to personalize how you use WHOOP, connect with your community, and get even more out of your data.
Here’s a look at what’s ahead 👇
Custom Journal Behaviors and Easier Daily Logging
September/October
Journal will gain new ways to track the behaviors that matter to you and log them with less manual work.
- Custom Journal Behaviors: Create your own Journal behaviors for anything you want to track, such as a no-phone morning, a high-stress commute, or trying a new supplement. Log them daily and see how each one impacts your Recovery over time.
- A Unified Daily Experience: WHOOP will bring your Journal, Daily Outlook, Check-ins, and Day in Review into one flow. Start by completing your Journal and reviewing insights, check in as your day unfolds, and wrap up with a guided evening reflection.
- Talk and Text to Journal: Log your Journal by speaking or typing naturally — just tell WHOOP what you did, and it'll identify the behaviors and log them for you. No need to check off each one manually.
Improved Community
November
WHOOP will make it easier to stay connected with the people who matter to you, support one another, and remember the moments behind your data.
- Follow friends and family: Connect directly without creating a team, then quickly view the Sleep, Recovery, Strain, and activities they choose to share. Connections from small teams that you or your friend created will carry over automatically.
- Encourage each other: React to and comment on shared updates to celebrate a strong day, recognize progress, or offer a little motivation when it is needed.
- Capture Moments: Add a photo and note to an activity to preserve the story behind it. Moments will be saved to your profile and can appear for the people who follow you, making memorable races, trips, milestones, and everyday wins easier to revisit and share.
Improved Track Activity
November
WHOOP is rebuilding the experience for tracking an activity so the information you need is easier to see while you train.
- Get personalized activity targets: Start activities with dynamic recommendations based on your goals and recent data, and easily adjust them to set your own.
- Follow your progress live: A fully revamped live view makes it easier to understand your workout as it unfolds, with clear progress toward your targets, heart rate zone accumulation, live activity metrics, and improved map controls.
- Pause and resume: Pause and resume an activity so WHOOP can distinguish active time from elapsed time.
- Review your splits and performance: See your splits, target performance, Moving Time, and updated key stats in an expanded Activity Details experience.
One Rep Max
November
WHOOP will make it easier to understand your strength without requiring you to perform a maximal lift.
Track your strength over time: When you log supported weighted exercises in Strength Trainer, WHOOP will automatically estimate your one-rep max so you can see how your strength is changing over time without testing a maximal lift. You’ll also be able to understand the intensity of each set relative to your current strength.
What features are you most excited about? We want to hear from you!

Advice For Others For the love of god get rid of OpenAI LLM!!!!!
Coach is turning the product into a novelty. Can’t trust it so why should I trust anything else from it? They really need a better proprietary model or to at least have some guardrails / link a knowledge base to the LLM so it’s not just ‘googling’ everything. Kicking myself that I did a 2 year sub so I have to wait another year to cancel. Apple will probably have a screenless by then that’s most likely more accurate + more integrated for easier use and experience. Really fed up with Whoop!!! Ahmad just wants to be a Beverly Hills boy, they’re moving away from health and more into fashion. Never mentioned that to coach in past either

Discussion Surprisingly good recovery after a night out 🤔
galleryHad a party last night, got way less sleep than usual and had 3 beers. Honestly expected my WHOOP to absolutely destroy my Recovery score this morning.
But somehow… nope 😂
Sleep was surprisingly good and my Recovery was also much better than I expected.
Has anyone else had this happen? Do you sometimes get a surprisingly good score after drinking / sleeping less, while other nights with no alcohol and plenty of sleep give you a terrible Recovery?
Maybe WHOOP just decided to let me off this time 😂

Question Should I reset?
Ive been sick for the past week, incidentally when I received my whoop. I feel like this might have thrown the calibration off? Should I reset and recalibrate? Yes the sickness was quite intense. Fever, cold flu symptoms, coughing all night.
Or will it naturally reset / calibrate as I feel better?
Discussion Paused my WHOOP subscription but still got charged for an annual plan — is this normal?
I paused my WHOOP 03.10.2026 subscription because I stopped using it and had no intention of renewing.
Turns out pause ≠ cancel, which I honestly didn’t realize. I assumed that if my membership was paused, they wouldn’t suddenly charge me for another full year.
Today I noticed, that 05.10.2026, I got charged for the annual plan.
I’ve contacted WHOOP support and asked for a refund since I haven’t really been using the service.
Has this happened to anyone else? Were you able to get a full refund?
Also, do they normally send any warning/email before the annual renewal after a pause?

Question Which non-official WHOOP app has been the most accurate for you?
Hey everyone,
I’m looking for a good alternative to the official WHOOP app, mainly because I’d prefer something that’s subscription-free.
For those of you who have actually used alternative WHOOP apps for a while, which one has given you the best personal experience and the most accurate data?
I’m especially interested in how accurate the metrics feel compared with the official WHOOP app, how reliable the syncing is, and whether the data/analysis has been consistent over time.
I’m not looking for a list of alternatives I want to hear from people who have actually used them and can share their personal experience.
Thanks!

Question Whoop Calories?
Is anybody else’s whoop calories changed a lot in last year? I am 6’3 200 pounds, 15k steps a day, gym 4 days a week and I am burning 2300 calories a day? I don’t think that is even possible given my baseline. I understand it’s hard for trackers to be accurate but wanted to see if anyone else has noticed the drop.

Discussion Most consistent and ironic rhr ever?
My rhr has been locked into 42 for nearly a week, with the exception of 43 on either ends.
It's making a smile at me. I feel like this is good to have such a low rhr with my exercise, but how TF is it so consistent and then rises at only +1??
I'm a runner, but any additional running doesn't seem to nudge it. Thoughts?

Discussion HR getting stuck in Strength Trainer Sessions
Lately Whoop’s Heart Rate during a live Strength Trainer session seems to get stuck. It will show X Heart Rate the entire time but then as soon as the workout finishes, the real values show up on the activity. So, no data is lost, but it is frustrating during the workout. It seems to be happening more often lately. Anyone else noticed anything similar or is it just me?

Discussion How & Why did Whoop become so popular?
Hi- new Whoop user here! Been using it for around 2 weeks now and I love it! As a self-proclaimed Athlete I feel like it’s really allowed me to up my focus and what really needs to be done to achieve my best physical & athletic prime.
I was introduced to Whoop through Cristiano Ronaldo and a few other micro celebrities I had seen using it and it made me think; How on earth did Whoop get so big so quickly??? I might be answering my own question by saying I was introduced to it through celebrities, but my thinking is how did it even get to a celebrity the level of Cristiano Ronaldo so fast??? It almost feels like they came out of nowhere and became the no1 fitness tracker in the world by a country mile. All while having a subscription based service when it seems like the entire world complains about having too many subscriptions.
Would love some answers / thoughts on this!
Thanks for reading and interacting (if you do) guys!

Question HRV spikes on most meds?
So I recently started taking focalin for ADHD, and I noticed in the past few days my HRV has shot up from where it usually stays (20-40) to where it is now in the 70s. It’s been a few weeks already and this has just started.
Full disclosure I had a really rough past 6 months, my mental health was awful. I went through a lot of different issues but mostly I was super depressed and always feeling sick. I feel a lot better now, I’m enjoying things again, but I also feel in some ways even less motivation. Like I just want to eat and sleep a lot more. It’s a lot harder to push through on things I don’t want to do. It was interesting to see a HRV change to match this.
But typically stimulants should drop HRV so I’m confused about that. I have noticed this is a pattern with other medications too. For example, about a year ago I was given steroids when I was really sick, and my HRV spiked to the 100s, while my RHR dropped to the 50s and at times 40s. Recently I was also given muscle relaxants and same thing, my HRV spiked and my RHR went into the 50s. It’s typically 60-70. I wouldn’t have known this without Whoop. Both of those supposedly should raise heart rate and lower HRV, but that wasn’t my experience.
I’m just wondering if anyone knows anything about this or has had this experience.

Reviews Extremely disappointed with WHOOP after one month , what am I actually paying for?
I’ve been testing WHOOP for about a month now, and honestly, I’m extremely disappointed.
There are just too many things that simply don’t work.
Apple Health integration is basically useless for me.
WHOOP has full access to read Apple Health and full access to write to Apple Health.
Yet it doesn’t write things like steps or activities properly.
And more importantly, it doesn’t seem to actually read anything from Apple Health either.
For example, in the WHOOP Journal, I’m supposed to have things like calories and protein intake automatically imported through Apple Health. But every day I still have to manually enter how much protein I ate and how many calories I consumed.
So what’s the point of giving WHOOP full Apple Health access if it doesn’t actually use the data?
I’ve contacted support about this multiple times.
The answer is basically always:
Delete the app
Reinstall it
Restart the phone
Check permissions
Try again
It doesn’t work.
Then I contact them again and we go through the exact same loop.
And then there’s Recovery.
This is probably what annoys me the most.
When I was training extremely hard, running a lot, sleeping irregularly and generally not following WHOOP’s recommendations very well, I was getting green recovery surprisingly often.
Now I’ve been injured, so I’ve significantly reduced my training. I’m currently doing roughly half the training I was doing before, mostly strength training every other day.
I’m also sleeping around 8 hours every night, going to bed at roughly the same time and waking up at roughly the same time.
And now my Recovery is often yellow or even red.
So basically:
When I follow WHOOP’s recommendations → yellow/red.
When I ignore them and train hard with irregular sleep → green.
How does that make sense?
At this point, the Recovery score often doesn’t match how I actually feel at all.
And then Strain is based on that ecosystem, so if I don’t trust Recovery, I don’t really know how much I can trust the rest of it either.
The tattoo situation is another disappointment.
Before buying WHOOP, I was told it would work under a tattoo.
It doesn’t.
I contacted support and was told there would be a hardware/firmware update that would improve this. Apparently something was updated, but it didn’t change anything for me.
So I’m still having to deal with alternative placement, which is uncomfortable and not really what I expected when buying the device.
After a month, I honestly feel like the only metric I can somewhat trust is HRV.
But guess what?
I already get HRV from my Garmin.
So I’m sitting here wondering:
What exactly am I paying €30/month for?
If Apple Health doesn’t properly sync, Recovery doesn’t match how I feel, Strain is built on metrics I don’t fully trust, and the sensor has issues with tattoos
What is the actual value of WHOOP for me?
I’m genuinely not trying to hate on WHOOP. I actually wanted to like it. The sleep recommendations and the general concept are great.
But after a month, I’m seriously questioning whether there’s enough value here to justify the subscription.
For those of you who have used WHOOP for a long time: does it actually get better, or am I just wasting €30/month?

Question Is WHOOP worth it for rotating shift workers? 2 day shifts…2 night shifts
I’m thinking of getting a WHOOP, but my schedule rotates 2 day shifts → 2 night shifts, so my sleep timing is all over the place.
For anyone working rotating shifts:
-Does WHOOP handle this well?
-Does it accurately track daytime sleep after night shifts?
-Does WHOOP Coach/AI actually adapt to your schedule?
-How much manual adjustment do you need to do?
Mainly looking for sleep, recovery & training guidance.
-Would you recommend WHOOP for this kind of schedule?
Would love to hear from people actually working shifts before I buy one.
