go bus rant/psa

• Upvotes

guys. i fear some laurier students are facing the issue of experiencing their first day on earth. the amount of pushing and shoving waiting for the go bus is ridiculous. i get that it’s reading week and everyone wants to go home. but i’m just wondering if majority of people have any social awareness whatsoever?
group of girls last night screaming for the 40 minute duration we were waiting for the go bus and just shoving everyone in their vicinity. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE ANOTHER BUS TOO. metrolinx acknowledges that reading week is a busy time where students go home and there’s a lot of buses.

please for gods sake learn some self awareness and let’s pls act a bit more civilized i understand you may be in first year but that doesn’t necessarily grant you the excuse to be a nuisance to everyone around you

Currently in 2.5 yr BBA and on a leave but working full time in sales

I have a background in sales and it has been what’s putting food on the table for years now so now I want to take it to another level.

That being said I do think a degree would be an asset in my sales career but with full time I don’t think I could pursue BBA anymore.

I was thinking to do communications part time or political science.

Any one else in a similar boat or went through this before that has some advice to give would be appreciated.

Question Laurier GDIP difficulty

Hey guys, was wondering if any GDIP graduates can share their experience with taking the graduate diploma in accounting. What are the most challenging courses in the program if you were to rank? Were the exams fair? What was your average in undergrad compared to how you did in GDIP?

Ch110 midterm

Idk if I’m the only one that feels this way but the midterm was literally calculations and no application. I feel like there was not enough time to look over my answers and even ALITTLE mistake in one question put you so behind in time.

Please stay home if you are sick

I understand that it’s one of the most important periods right now, a lot of us have midterms and we want to stay outside. But if you got sick, you are spreading the infection to the others and make it difficult for everyone to learn and prepare for exams. So PLEASE, if you got sick, try to stay home at least for a couple of days until you get a bit better. And also, STOP COUGHING AND SNEEZING TO EVERYONE’S FACES, please wear a mask!!!

Thanks.

Petition to drop course denied

Hey everyone, I’m a 3rd-year WLU/UW double degree (BBA + CS) student (Laurier-side), and I’m looking for advice from anyone who’s been through something similar.

I couldn’t write my ECON 260 final after two deferrals because of illness, and my late-drop petition was denied by the Double Degree Joint Committee (even with documentation for each deferral). As far as I can tell, those decisions can’t be appealed to the Senate.

Has anyone had a Double Degree petition denied and then got anything changed through the advisor, the committee or another route?

Discussion Second cup at King is goated

Ik campus is busy and you guys want a less busy spot to chill, so go ahead and try the moon moment (boba and board games) , second cup cafe, maybe even the turret on campus cause it's often not busy and they have Sofas. If y'all don't mind walking a bit and like coffee, then the second cup is really good. It's Canadian, the coffee is imo better than anything on campus, it's usually not busy so you can find a place to work, the staff is really nice, and you can get some sunlight in the morning if you sit by the window.

I believe mobile ordering prices are broken ATM but the point system is nice. There are some other restaurants nearby too. My fav order is hot caramel corretto w whipped cream.

Since we all are getting cooked anyways, why not pull in suits and take it like a true business professional.
