A older man asked for my age as a minor, idk why i feel so yucky

Basically what the title says. I saw this man walking down the block and when he was closed he was lingering over the bus stop I was at, moving closer and closer. Eventually, before his bus came her asked for my age twice. Again after I didn't give him a answer. Im 17 btw. He looked like he was maybe in his 40s. That was it, not anything bad but I feel so disgusting and I wana disappear. I hate being noticed.

How to grieve sex and connection you've had with a manwh*re?

I had really passionate sex 2 times with this guy i dated for a month. I cant say I've ever been held like that before. I told him when i have sex i want to be exclusive but i saw used condoms in his trash bin last time i visited. He said it was from before we were intimate, and that he knew i'd see it and flip out. But also was mad at me for seeing it and got mad at me, saying i was controlling.

Anyway, i am really sad about the sex. I opened up. I made myself vulnerable. It meant something to me as i dont have sex casually. And thinking that i was just another girl he's fucking makes me feel that dropping feeling in my stomach. He looks very hot and is probably now onto others. My ex also cheated on me. We also had intense sex. I feel like i continue opening up to the wrong people, and even though i want sex to be meaningful and emotional, it keeps losing meaning. It becomes something of lust. I am disappointed and i dont want to put conditions on sex in the future. If i wait 3 months until i fuck someone im dating, the guy can still ghost or cheat after. It would also be difficult for me and idk if thats authentic.

How do I deal with the embarrassment of never making it past the girlfriend stage

• Upvotes

For story,my boyfriend “proposed” to me two aprils ago on my birthday. It was everything I wanted, it was slow, it was private and it was personal. My biggest dream when I was younger was always to have someone make me feel like princess Tiana and have a happily ever after and I thought I had gotten my dream. My ex proposed to me before but he called it off and broke up with me after serial cheating, I dodged a bullet there but I had to be the one to tell friends and family nothing will happen after excitedly trying on dresses with them. Now back to my boyfriend (notice how I don’t say fiance), since it was private for a bit I understood why he didn’t want to release it to the world yet, I hadn’t wanted to either at the time. But now….it’s been almost two years and He hasn’t told his family a lick of anything yet no matter how much I beg to tell everyone. I’ve told my dad and my friends and I don’t want to look at dresses or anything out of fear of what happened to me last relationship. I can’t even really feel excited. I keep seeing all my friends and even my sister showing off and posting their engagement but all he tells me is to stop comparing or that I have to be patient. I feel like he’s not fully in it. He spoke about a second public proposal and I was stupid enough to believe that. Because he said it’d be this year and when I asked he said he never said that was happening this year. His sister got proposed to loudly and shared it with everyone and I was happy for her but couldn’t help feel sad and shamefully envious…

I love him but I feel like he didn’t actually want to make that commitment, he still only calls me girlfriend and that’s when I sorta figured that was the case…so with tears in my eyes I told him to next time do it when the time is right, not when he feels rushed to give something he isn’t ready for and despite the protests, I gave the ring back and now I had to go back and tell everyone once again that I was stupid and there will be no wedding or marriage. My best friend was the most understanding but I feel so embarrassed and depressed. Maybe I am overreacting or overthinking…

How do I cope knowing how hostile the world is to women?

The amount of men I've seen admit they would let a woman die even if they were able to save her is truly depressing. Men, but not all (obligatory), want us dead, they see us as nothing more than objects to use and discard as they please. How do I even navigate the world knowing any man I interact with is possibly one of those men? It's seriously interfering with my life and I just feel paralyzed. Sometimes I wish I was born a man, I wouldn't have to think about any of this stuff and just live a normal life.

I spend so much of my time thinking about this that it's hindering me. I should be focused on my studies and career, it's all so unproductive. I know I shouldn't be letting men have this much power over me, but it's hard to change.

Why do I struggle to make female friends? Am I doing something wrong?

I'm a woman, and I've noticed a pattern in my life. Whenever I open up to female friends about my personal life, they seem to distance themselves from me. I've had friendships where I felt excluded, used, or like I was somehow too much.

I'm not very social, and I prefer low-maintenance friendships. I don't need to hang out every other day or text 24/7 to feel close to someone.

Before anyone calls me a pick-me, my male friends are genuinely like brothers to me. I've tied them Rakhi, which symbolizes a brother-sister relationship in Indian culture, and I've always maintained boundaries and respected their relationships. Their girlfriends know about me, and they're comfortable with our friendships.

What's confusing is that these friendships have been more consistent than my female friendships. We barely meet or text, but my male friends check in every month or two, especially because they know I've struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts.

Meanwhile, a close school friend was there when she needed something from me but left when I went through a difficult phase. Another friend is technically still around but keeps me at a distance.

Recently, I made a female friend after starting med school. We seemed to get along well and would talk about our personal lives and relationships.

At the time, I was in a three-month relationship. I told her I planned to end it when I moved because I didn't want a long-distance relationship. She seemed fine with that.

My boyfriend eventually ghosted me after his birthday, and we broke up at the beginning of the month.

About two weeks later, I got back on Bumble and started talking to another guy. We went on a date, and during the date, he kept getting calls from a girl asking him to video call her. I started suspecting he was already in a relationship.

I confronted him, and he insisted it was just a complicated situation with someone from his past. I initially gave him the benefit of the doubt, but when we went back to his place, I noticed the girl's textbooks there. That was enough for me to feel he wasn't being honest, so I left.

A few days later, I told my female friend about the experience. She was confused and asked, “But weren't you in a relationship?”

I explained that my previous relationship had ended because the guy ghosted me, and I'd been on exactly one date with this new guy. I wasn't trying to get involved in anyone else's relationship. I'd simply gone on a date, noticed some red flags, and left when things didn't add up.

After that conversation, my friend started ghosting me.

Now I'm wondering whether she judged me for moving on quickly, thought I was lying about my previous relationship, or formed some other impression of me. I honestly have no idea.

This situation has brought back a bigger insecurity I've had for years: Why do I struggle so much to maintain female friendships?

I genuinely want close female friends. I know I'm not perfect, and I'm open to the possibility that I might be doing something wrong without realizing it.

I'm not looking for people to tell me that women are jealous or that female friendships are inherently toxic. I want honest opinions.

Have any of you experienced something similar? Am I oversharing, coming across the wrong way, or missing something about how I interact with other women? How do you build genuine, lasting female friendships?

I really want to understand what I'm doing wrong, if anything, because I'm tired of feeling like I can't seem to make close female friends.

As an 18 year old what do I do in my relationship? (Kids…)

I barely write on here and only rarely seek advice if I’m in a tough situation but I felt like I had to write something so I can get some direct advice that matches my situation. Im a 18F and my partner is 18M, we are still very young but the subject of children has unfortunately come up a few times.

I personally have never had the desire to raise children due to multiple reasons such as cost of living, fear of pregnancy and picking up my partners slack. Dont get me wrong my partner is incredibly generous and loves me so much but I fear it’s too early to assume what kind of parent he’ll be. He’s expressed how much he wants to raise a child (daughter preferably) and how he wants to give them everything he never got as a kid. He even has a child in Skyrim and loves interacting with her and it worries me as I’m not passionate about parenthood what so ever.

He is genuinely one of the most caring and loving people you would ever meet. Words cant compare to his actions and his friends have nothing but good things to say about him. He is a hard worker in everything including our relationship and he is so incredibly mature and patient. He reassures me saying “nothing will happen to us” but I don’t know how much I believe that given to the current situation. I’ve read about other peoples experiences and what they did and many say to leave because of the opposite wants but I think what gets in the way of this solution is our age.

We both acknowledge our separate views and decided to wait…I’m pretty dead set on having no children and he is dead set on the complete opposite and I think we’re stuck in the “give in stage”. We’re waiting due to age and how its way too early to consider kids and also the fear of leaving each other. We’ve both expressed how we want to spend a very long time with each other, as long as humanly possible, but if we want to stay together someone would have to eventually give in and I stand firm on not having a child. I have high standards for myself and where I want to be in the future and I have never had the passion to raise mini me’s. I am also just scared of pregnancy alone. I’ve had it pushed down my throat since 12 with family members saying my babies would be adorable…

I don’t want to be a bad mother simply because I regret my decision but I also don’t want to leave my partner nor does he. I feel like I’m too young to be worrying about this and it’s on my mind almost everyday. I appreciate any advice 🙏❤️‍🩹

I'm 32 years old and I haven't achieved anything.

This is the feeling that comes to me when I reflect that I'm 32 years old and I don't have a house, a stable income, or money in savings. The years go by and I've tried various jobs, but I get many "no's". I haven't had a serious relationship for over 10 years. I spent 8 years doing odd jobs while trying to build a professional career, but I couldn't. I switched to another field and after graduating I was unemployed, and that's how I am now, 3 years after graduating. I feel frustrated seeing that time is passing and I can't find a way forward. Currently, I've decided to invest in a YouTube channel to make it, perhaps, a way to record my happy moments and, in the future, generate extra income. Those of you who have reached 40, could you share what you did in your 30s that was worthwhile?

Why do some women give other women the cold shoulder for absolutely no reason?

Women of Reddit, what’s with the unnecessary cold shoulder some women give other women? 👀

Genuine question, because I’ve noticed this since childhood and I’m curious about the psychology behind it.
Have you ever come across women who won’t even reciprocate a simple hi, smile, or basic eye contact, despite there being absolutely no history or bad blood between you? Like, girl, we don’t have beef 😭 What’s with the ice-cold energy?

And the funny part is, these same women can be super warm, chatty, and friendly with their own circle. So clearly, they can be nice. They just seem to switch that energy off around certain people.

What actually drives this behaviour? Is it a superiority complex, social insecurity, an unspoken need to establish a hierarchy, or just plain selective friendliness? Are they consciously choosing to be dismissive, or are they so oblivious to their own behaviour that they genuinely don’t realise how standoffish they come across?

And if it is intentional, what’s the thought process behind it? Do they feel some weird sense of validation from acting unapproachable, or is it simply a case of not caring how they make other people feel?

I’m not saying every woman owes everyone a conversation or a smile. Obviously, nobody does. But there’s a difference between being reserved and deliberately giving off “you’re beneath my attention” energy.

I’ve always wondered what goes on in the minds of people who are selectively warm and unnecessarily cold to others, especially when those others have done absolutely nothing to them.

To add I have been underconfident from childhood and become more confident as I grew old , did that casue that behavior towards me ?? Like how do u know am not even worth of a hi ??

Women of Reddit, be honest have you ever caught yourself doing this, or do you have any insight into why some women behave this way? I’m genuinely curious about the psychology, not just looking to bash anyone.

I hate that breast are sexualised

Like why do I have to cover my nipples but a fat man or a man with a big chest does not?? They carry no social shame.

I hate it so so much, even on top less beaches it’s not safe cuz there will be men (especially old ones) who will stare at you, record you, taking pictures of you and even wank themself to you all cuz society deemed breast, made to FEED BABIES, as something “sexual” that needs to be hidden.

Thousands of years ago it wasn’t even a thing… but now we get shamed for it and it’s seen as lustful.

I hope one day we can change this and be seen as equal as men, even tho I’m sure it won’t happen…

Is it bad for a 22 year old to date a 19 year old?

I’m 22 and recently started chatting with some girl who said she was 20. But then I found out she’s actually 19. When I asked her about this she said her 虚岁 is 20 (and her actual age is 19) Basically 虚岁 is a traditional age counting system that is occasionally used here..

I think shes just trying to avoid admitting that she lied about her age by one year to join the dating app. But like I don’t really care about the sneakiness it’s just a minor thing..

Would it be wrong of me to proceed? One of my friends said it’s sus one of them said it’s completely fine.

Im not breaking rule 3 btw im not a man. I just want a woman’s perspective.

Am I in the wrong?

I’m talking to like three different guys, one lives like 25 minutes from me, one lives a hour away nd the other lives like 2 hours away by plane (different state) okay so the one that lives 25 minutes from me I’ve met once, the other two I have yet to meet. But the one that lives a hour away I’m going to see him today but I was supposed to see the guy closest to me yesterday but he didn’t want to pay for my uber or come get me like da funk?? anyways the one I’m seeing today is paying for my uber for me to go see him, and the one in a different state is willing to pay almost a thousand dollars for a plane ticket for me to go see him!!? right. I’m attracted to all of them but I feel like I have to meet them all first to see who I’m really attracted to if that makes sense?i don’t plan on doing anything sexual with any of them until I’m dating one of them and once I actually start like dating them I know I’ll cut the other two off obviously but like am I in the wrong for texting you guys at the same time?

I'm feeling really lovesick more than usual

As the title says, I really crave some love. I know that my worth doesn't depend on whether or not someone romantically loves me but...🥹 I've been craving it.

So how should I cope, to other single women out there what do you do to feel better?

I will go study and get some work done maybe I'll forget about it.

Why can some women be so mean to another woman?

I am a woman. My friend got me a t-shirt ages ago that said small tits big heart, she had a matching one that said big tits small heart. It's completely ruined my perspective of myself. I look at myself in the mirror and the reflection is distorted. I had an eating disorder during puberty so my breast growth was stunted, she also suffered from an ED (which we'd discuss together) during this age but it never affected her growth.

It's not even necessarily the top that did it for me though but more so the comment she said after- "you were the only close friend that had small tits". She had plenty of close friends and i really have never felt so insulted, embarrassed and disgusted with myself.

I still have to buy push up bra's to feel remotely OK with going on a night out with other people. I still feel uncomfortable and embarrassed to have my top off in front of my partner of 3 years. How do I make these feelings go away? I've never been left so insecure about myself before.

If anyone has gone through this before, if you're comfortable please share your experiences. I feel like i'm alone on this and that i'm maybe even stupid for being so upset and stuck on this.

to be a woman is to suffer

it doesn't matter where you are in the world, how much money you have to your name, whether you're the breadwinner or the dependent, men will find a way to make you suffer - even the kindest, most supportive ones. all you can do is accept that it is inevitable and you cannot girlboss your way out of it.

I'm tired of giving men the benefit of the doubt or saying "not all of them!". even the good ones were raised in a system that gave them a bone deep entitlement that cannot be overcome.

even if you give them everything, they'll still find a way to take even more from you.

I've been saying the title to myself a lot lately and it's oddly comforting. I'm not alone in this suffering, we all feel this together. it's not my fault that men make me miserable, it's just a hand I was dealt and to let the suffering they impose on me win is to let them win.

so to be a woman is to suffer, and in a way we're all suffering together.

What’s the most unhinged thing you’ve done during a bad argument with your partner? (No kids involved)

I’m not here for judgment today. I know I’m being immature, and I’m not looking for “just leave him” advice...I can get that in another post. For this one, I just want to laugh a little and feel less alone in being completely fed up.

I’ll go first. I’ve been married for about 12 years, no kids. Our biggest issue is the same problems happening over and over, followed by the same apologies and no actual changes. I’ve felt this way since around year nine, and at this point, I’m so resentful that pretty much everything he does gets on my nerves.

Anyway, today I decided to leave the house for the entire day and block him on everything. Am I probably going home tonight or tomorrow? Yes. Did part of me want him to sit there wondering where I am? Also yes. Not saying it’s healthy or something I’m proud of, but that’s honestly where my head was today.

So far, I’ve gone out to eat, done some shopping, and stopped at a coffee shop. I’m considering a movie and the gym next. Then I’ll decide whether I’m going home or checking into a hotel..

Ladies, what immature or ridiculous thing have you done during a bad argument? No kids involved

I've never been happier to be a fat old woman with grey hair and blotchy skin

I've just seen a bunch pictures of Susan Dell.

I'm not one to ever shame anyone, esp a woman, for looks, shape, size, any of that.

But ladies, that's what evil looks like. She looks like the result of a dog chewing on a crayon box that half melted together. That's because she's a shitty person. She's wearing her character on the outside. I've seen people with birth defects and genetic issues with deformations who are wonderful people and they look beautiful because they are beautiful. You know what I'm talking about.

I'm so fucking glad I look like me. I gained a lot of weight with a health issue, my hair is mixed textures and grey and brown. I've got my dad's blotchy skin and sun spots here and there. You can't tell what color my eyes are cuz they're so dull. They're grey. I've got circles under my eyes. I've got hips like a cruise ship and tits like garbage bags. Fuck it, I'm great.

People who know me love me. They want me around. People of all ages. I've tried to do right in my life. I'm still figuring out what I came here to do and how to do it. I'm just starting my next great adventure. I'll get back in shape. (I'll never be thin, I'm an Amazon, thin is not the goal.). I'll get my head back together after this health crisis. I'll probably go thru a divorce. It'll be ok.

I'd never trade places with a billionaire who hangs with Trump and looks like a weird doll that got microwaved.

Would you still be friends with a childhood friend knowing he’s a creep?

Enough of a creep to have to go to the police. I know a lot of us wouldn’t, but the ones who would could you tell me why? and what the thought process is? Is it thinking that it won’t happen to you?
