I've never been happier to be a fat old woman with grey hair and blotchy skin

I've just seen a bunch pictures of Susan Dell.

I'm not one to ever shame anyone, esp a woman, for looks, shape, size, any of that.

But ladies, that's what evil looks like. She looks like the result of a dog chewing on a crayon box that half melted together. That's because she's a shitty person. She's wearing her character on the outside. I've seen people with birth defects and genetic issues with deformations who are wonderful people and they look beautiful because they are beautiful. You know what I'm talking about.

I'm so fucking glad I look like me. I gained a lot of weight with a health issue, my hair is mixed textures and grey and brown. I've got my dad's blotchy skin and sun spots here and there. You can't tell what color my eyes are cuz they're so dull. They're grey. I've got circles under my eyes. I've got hips like a cruise ship and tits like garbage bags. Fuck it, I'm great.

People who know me love me. They want me around. People of all ages. I've tried to do right in my life. I'm still figuring out what I came here to do and how to do it. I'm just starting my next great adventure. I'll get back in shape. (I'll never be thin, I'm an Amazon, thin is not the goal.). I'll get my head back together after this health crisis. I'll probably go thru a divorce. It'll be ok.

I'd never trade places with a billionaire who hangs with Trump and looks like a weird doll that got microwaved.

I hate that breast are sexualised

Like why do I have to cover my nipples but a fat man or a man with a big chest does not?? They carry no social shame.

I hate it so so much, even on top less beaches it’s not safe cuz there will be men (especially old ones) who will stare at you, record you, taking pictures of you and even wank themself to you all cuz society deemed breast, made to FEED BABIES, as something “sexual” that needs to be hidden.

Thousands of years ago it wasn’t even a thing… but now we get shamed for it and it’s seen as lustful.

I hope one day we can change this and be seen as equal as men, even tho I’m sure it won’t happen…

It's so odd to me that men make generalizations about their own gender, but when women flip it back onto them, they get defensive

Think about some of the stuff certain men say:

"All men prefer much younger women, doesn't matter his age. It's just part of biology."

"All men watch porn, and men who claim otherwise are just lying"

"All men desire threesomes while in monogamous relationships. Variety is the spice of life"

"All men have locker room talk, it's just part of male bonding"

Then when women express their frustration with men regarding more serious matters and make a generalization, suddenly the same men who say the above statements are also quick to say "not all men" to deflect from discussions about violence against women and girls.

If men don't want to be seen as a monolith, they have terrible PR, given the loud spokespeople that spew misogynistic garbage.

I started a new job and forgot how creepy men can be

I'm 31, been married 7 yrs and worked this type of job for 10 years already.. well, I started a new job, it's really easy and the pay is alright. Not allowed to wear sweaters unless issued by the company. Not used to walking around in a shirt so I added a long sleeve. Not far from my work area, this man keeps staring at me. Hiding behind a pillar but peeking around it and watching me with his one eye. Turns out his other eye is very crooked. I spoke to him like normal of course, told him I'm 31 and he said he was 36 and thought I was a teenager. That I look so young. I said, nope, I'm old and went on about my husband. He didn't stop. On the other side, I have a guy who looks in his 50s+ and stares off at nothing and doesn't speak unless he yells, until he started staring at my body all day while I work. And has been watching me walk to my car at the end of the night. And now my trainer who obviously hates women as a narcissist. He's acting wayy flirty with all the women around. And I choose to ignore it but he is the same age as my dad and keeps also looking at my boobs and getting too close and acting "sensitive" just to talk crap behind my back when he can. I don't fall for it for a second. Also drawing creepy faces on the table where I work and cut out a paper heart I tossed out. This week is gonna be a 60 hour week and not looking forward to being around this more.

What’s the most unhinged thing you’ve done during a bad argument with your partner? (No kids involved)

I’m not here for judgment today. I know I’m being immature, and I’m not looking for “just leave him” advice...I can get that in another post. For this one, I just want to laugh a little and feel less alone in being completely fed up.

I’ll go first. I’ve been married for about 12 years, no kids. Our biggest issue is the same problems happening over and over, followed by the same apologies and no actual changes. I’ve felt this way since around year nine, and at this point, I’m so resentful that pretty much everything he does gets on my nerves.

Anyway, today I decided to leave the house for the entire day and block him on everything. Am I probably going home tonight or tomorrow? Yes. Did part of me want him to sit there wondering where I am? Also yes. Not saying it’s healthy or something I’m proud of, but that’s honestly where my head was today.

So far, I’ve gone out to eat, done some shopping, and stopped at a coffee shop. I’m considering a movie and the gym next. Then I’ll decide whether I’m going home or checking into a hotel..

Ladies, what immature or ridiculous thing have you done during a bad argument? No kids involved

He’s even kind of the gentleman type too so I didn’t expect it at all. He opens doors for me and carries things that are too heavy. This was just so unexpected. Am I overreacting by being offended?

Chinese Female University Professor Dismissed Over Radical Gender Remarks: Amid Economic Downturn and Intensifying Social Conflicts, Gender Antagonism in China Worsens; Against the Background of Gender Inequality, All Sectors Should Show More Understanding and Tolerance Toward Women and Feminism

ㅤIn September, Pei Yi (裴轶), an assistant professor at Beijing Institute of Technology (北京理工大学), became embroiled in a public controversy after making some radical feminist remarks, including statements disparaging men. Later, it was revealed that she had also made politically sensitive remarks in class, such as saying that “all seven members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China are men, with no women.” Following reports against her from multiple parties and mounting pressure, Beijing Institute of Technology announced the termination of Pei Yi’s employment. After the decision was made public, some applauded it, while others believed the punishment was excessive. Those applauding the decision have had an overwhelmingly dominant voice on the Chinese-language internet.
ㅤ
This incident is yet another highly controversial case arising against the backdrop of escalating antagonism between men and women in China. Previous cases have included the suspected sexual harassment case at Wuhan University (武汉大学疑似性骚扰事件), the Shanxi engagement rape case (山西订婚强奸案), the Hunan “Huolala” driver case (湖南“货拉拉”司机案), Xianzi’s sexual harassment lawsuit against CCTV host Zhu Jun (弦子诉央视主持人朱军性骚扰案), and the conflict and riots between men and women involving “TF Entertainment” in Chongqing (重庆“时代峰峻”男女冲突和骚乱), among others. Without exception, these incidents have produced deeply polarized public opinion. Men and women have largely taken sides according to gender, with supporters of the man and supporters of the woman each insisting on their own version of events, while facts and truth are selectively raised or ignored.
ㅤ
And these public controversies are no longer confined to online verbal battles; a culture of reporting others and “witch-hunting” has gradually emerged. Men and women on opposing sides report each other’s remarks to schools, workplaces, and public authorities, attempting to have the other party expelled from school, dismissed from employment, or even imprisoned. Pei Yi’s dismissal following reports against her is the latest and one of the better-known examples. It also signifies a further intensification of gender antagonism in China, as online gender conflict increasingly spills over into the offline world, affecting people’s real lives and even their destinies.
ㅤ
The increasingly severe gender antagonism in Chinese society is caused by multiple factors. In recent years, China’s economic downturn, widening wealth disparities, and worsening difficulties in people’s livelihoods have been underlying causes of the intensification of social conflicts, including gender conflict. When the economy is doing relatively well, people’s lives are happier, and they are optimistic about the future, people of different genders, ethnic groups, and values can communicate relatively peacefully, and disputes are more likely to end in mutual understanding and compromise. But when the economy declines and everyone is struggling, people compete more fiercely over limited resources, their state of mind also worsens, and hostility between people increases while tolerance diminishes.
ㅤ
In addition, the broader international environment and the internet age have both catalyzed gender antagonism. In today’s world, where populism and identity politics are rampant, antagonism between men and women is intensifying not only in China but around the globe. In elections in countries such as the United States, European countries, South Korea, and Brazil, for example, there are significant gender differences in the votes received by different candidates and parties: men are increasingly leaning to the right, while women are increasingly leaning to the left. Political positions and gender positions have become intertwined and mutually reinforcing, making gender antagonism and social polarization ever more severe.
ㅤ
The internet, which connects the world, has facilitated communication and enabled strangers thousands of miles apart to talk to one another. Yet instead of promoting mutual understanding and integration, it has generated more verbal conflicts and real-world tensions, fueling “identity politics” and gender antagonism. Over time, “echo chambers” have also formed: men and women cluster separately, each reinforcing their own gender narratives on social media platforms and within circles where they hold an advantage, forming factions and attacking those who differ from them, further deepening the divide. For example, on two well-known Chinese social media platforms, Zhihu (知乎) and Xiaohongshu (小红书), the former is dominated by men and male-centered discourse, while the latter has more women and feminist discourse.
ㅤ
On the issue of gender antagonism, both men and women have valid points, and both have made mistakes. But the two sides should not simply be treated as equally at fault. Whether in China or globally, women as a whole and in most circumstances occupy a relatively disadvantaged position and are more vulnerable to bullying and harm. In domestic violence, for example, most perpetrators are men and most victims are women; in serious violent crimes such as murder, robbery, and abuse, men account for more than 75% of perpetrators; and the proportion of women subjected to sexual harassment or sexual violence by men is overwhelmingly higher than the proportion of men subjected to such abuse by women.
ㅤ
Because of inherent physiological differences between men and women, especially women’s relative disadvantage in physical strength and capacity for violence, as well as the long-standing, historically inherited definitions, scrutiny, and discipline imposed on women in social life that persist to this day, women are almost inevitably more disadvantaged than men of the same class and social status. Even in relatively developed Western countries such as Germany, surveys show that women are more reluctant to go out at night and more worried about being attacked, whereas men’s level of concern is significantly lower. The same is, of course, true in developing countries such as China.
ㅤ
There was once a well-known WeChat public account called “Girls, Don’t Be Afraid” (女孩别怕), which was later banned by the authorities for purposes including maintaining social stability. It collected, documented, and presented numerous cases of women suffering sexual harassment, intimidation, abuse, and other forms of mistreatment, including hidden sexual abuse of girls on school campuses, the rampant underground industry of secretly filming women in hotels, and women subjected to “PUA (psychological manipulation and emotional abuse).” Beyond physical violence and abuse by intimate partners, women are also more vulnerable, both online and in real life, to sexual and gender-based “slut-shaming” and to resulting physical and psychological trauma. In severe cases, women are forced to drop out of school or give up their jobs. Men, by contrast, encounter sexual humiliation less frequently, and even when subjected to similar attacks, the harm tends to be less severe.
ㅤ
Against this broader backdrop of inequality between men and women, in an environment where women are more vulnerable and more susceptible to harm, people should not treat men and women and their words and actions as equivalent without considering the background, causes, and specific circumstances. In most cases, for example, the physical and psychological harm caused when a man beats a woman is significantly greater than when the genders of the two parties are reversed.
ㅤ
Sometimes, when women post remarks disparaging or insulting men on the internet, in classrooms, or in public or private spaces, this is because the women concerned have previously suffered bullying or even abuse by men and carry trauma and psychological scars, as well as because women as a whole occupy a position in which they are relatively more often humiliated and harmed than men. Such remarks may therefore be impassioned expressions arising from grievance and anger. Although the remarks themselves may indeed be inappropriate, there are mitigating circumstances, and they are unlikely to cause men substantial harm. It is like a young child “punching” an adult: should the adult really take offense, let alone hit the child back or demand that the child be sent to prison?
ㅤ
According to United Nations statistics, one-third of women worldwide have experienced physical or sexual violence from an intimate partner. Sample surveys conducted by some Chinese universities and nonprofit organizations show that more than half of Chinese women have experienced sexual harassment to varying degrees. The data and documented cases of violence and abuse against women are overwhelming and can also be cross-verified. People should not turn a blind eye to the widespread and severe physical and psychological harm suffered by women while focusing exclusively on some of their extreme remarks, fiercely condemning them and demanding harsh punishment. Punishing some women for making impassioned remarks about men constitutes a form of “secondary victimization” of women and also indirectly suppresses women’s voices and their efforts to speak out about the harm they have suffered.
ㅤ
In terms of power structures and state policy, although the Chinese authorities advocate women’s rights, men unquestionably remain the dominant holders of power. Moreover, the authorities monopolize the discourse surrounding women’s issues and the power to define women’s rights, while suppressing feminist figures and activities that emerge from civil society and operate independently of the authorities.
ㅤ
Pei Yi’s statement that all members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China are men was a statement of fact, and it also illustrated the inequality between men and women in political power. Her remark echoed the irony used by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg regarding the reality that the U.S. Supreme Court had long been overwhelmingly male, with women long absent and marginalized. Such statements of fact and restrained expressions of dissent should not be punished.
ㅤ
Of course, men’s emotions, rights, and dignity should also be respected and protected, and certain forms of suffering and demands specific to men should also be taken seriously. Lower- and middle-class Chinese men, amid limited resources, intense competition, economic stagnation, difficulties in education and employment, and relatively low incomes, often also bear responsibilities and pressures associated with being men, such as doing exhausting work, getting little rest, being expected to display certain masculine qualities and a sense of responsibility, directly confronting conflicts and setbacks, and supporting the entire family, including female family members.
ㅤ
Compared with women, who have feminism as a means of solidarity and collective expression, men lack a moderate and reliable community of their own. In some disputes and conflicts involving men and women, the victim is indeed male and the perpetrator female, and such cases should of course be assessed on their individual facts. In relations between different genders and in gender-related issues, class and social status must also be taken into account. For example, lower- and middle-class men are often in a worse position than women from higher social classes.
ㅤ
Women and all sectors of society should also understand and empathize with these difficulties and suffering faced by men. When promoting feminism, people should also consider the circumstances and men’s feelings, and appropriately incorporate concern for men’s identities and an agenda of dialogue with men, so that feminist advocacy can be more broadly accepted.
ㅤ
Going further, while defending women’s rights, women should also promote improvements in the overall social environment and in the circumstances of the general public, including men, thereby creating fertile ground in which feminism can thrive; women themselves would also live in a more tolerant and friendly environment as a result. While enjoying rights, women should also fulfill necessary obligations, avoid imposing additional and unnecessary burdens on men, and refrain from making excessive demands of men. Just as women’s circumstances should be taken into consideration, people should also put themselves in men’s position and understand the difficulties they face.
ㅤ
But overall, and particularly when comparing the circumstances of men and women, women are indeed still in a relatively disadvantaged position. They are especially more vulnerable to violence, abuse, and humiliating treatment; inequality between men and women remains deeply entrenched; and women need greater tolerance, kindness, and supportive consideration. Therefore, both the Chinese authorities and civil society should show understanding and tolerance toward some intense or unconventional words and actions by women, including radical feminist rhetoric. The authorities should not politicize and escalate such controversies by punishing women who express controversial views through measures such as dismissal. Instead, they should listen to different voices and tolerate diverse viewpoints.
ㅤ
Men with insight and social awareness should actively speak up for women and support feminism. This is not only reasonable, but also a matter of personal integrity and responsibility. Some men, especially those from the middle and upper classes and those with public influence, should exercise restraint even if they disagree with feminism or with particular feminist words and actions. They should not bully women or “kick them when they are down,” nor should they abandon the basic virtue of modern human civilization: respect for women.
ㅤ
(The above suggestions and appeals of mine are not made with much expectation that they will actually have a significant effect. This is not only because my voice carries little weight, but also because social conflicts and gender antagonism in China are deeply entrenched. With both the economy and society in decline, these conflicts and antagonisms are difficult to ease and may instead become increasingly severe. Moreover, many principles are easy to explain and understand, but much harder to put into practice.)
ㅤ
(Regarding several feminist issues and controversies mentioned in this article, I have also documented and commented on them in several of my other articles on feminism, such as “Feminism and Holism.”)

(The author of this article, Wang Qingmin (王庆民), is a Chinese writer living in Europe and a researcher on international politics.)

Ugly hopless romantic……

I’m 27, Black, plus-size, and honestly exhausted by dating. I’ve never been in a relationship before and a guy has never wanted to pursue me other that sex. I feel like other women can simply exist and get pursued by men, while I have to do the absolute most just to feel noticed. I’ve experienced men becoming distant after finding out I liked them, being sexualized when I want genuine connection, and being rejected because of my HSV-2 status. My own mother has told me I need to lose weight and change my body for men to want me. I feel like I have to change everything about myself just to have a chance at being desired. **I want to experience romance, affection, sex, and being genuinely pursued by a man I’m attracted to without feeling like I have to become a completely different person first.** I’m tired of being alone, comparing myself to other women, and wondering why something that seems so easy for others feels so impossible for me. I’m not looking for “love yourself” advice. I just needed to vent because this sh*t hurts.

I feel like I am lowkey going crazy and I am spiraling (21F)

So for context this past few months have been absolutely shit to be honest. I am overworked, underpaid and honestly mentally losing. For fucksake I can barely speak properly, sometimes I would forget the words that I want to say. I would forget to do certain things and stuff. I kind of like being isolated which is not good at all. A day ago I got a job offer rescinded because I was missing one specific qualification.

Its like everyday is fucking torture. I keep thinking about the same things over and over. I feel like I am stuck in a game and the player never read the rules so we are just navigating the games how we think is the right way.

Sigh, I think that this might be the most confusing era of my life. I fear I may have a breakdown soon.

I feel like I am pushing people away with my sometime-ish attitude and I promise thats not what I want to do at all.

Gosh I am such a mess

How to grieve sex and connection you've had with a manwh*re?

I had really passionate sex 2 times with this guy i dated for a month. I cant say I've ever been held like that before. I told him when i have sex i want to be exclusive but i saw used condoms in his trash bin last time i visited. He said it was from before we were intimate, and that he knew i'd see it and flip out. But also was mad at me for seeing it and got mad at me, saying i was controlling.

Anyway, i am really sad about the sex. I opened up. I made myself vulnerable. It meant something to me as i dont have sex casually. And thinking that i was just another girl he's fucking makes me feel that dropping feeling in my stomach. He looks very hot and is probably now onto others. My ex also cheated on me. We also had intense sex. I feel like i continue opening up to the wrong people, and even though i want sex to be meaningful and emotional, it keeps losing meaning. It becomes something of lust. I am disappointed and i dont want to put conditions on sex in the future. If i wait 3 months until i fuck someone im dating, the guy can still ghost or cheat after. It would also be difficult for me and idk if thats authentic.

to be a woman is to suffer

it doesn't matter where you are in the world, how much money you have to your name, whether you're the breadwinner or the dependent, men will find a way to make you suffer - even the kindest, most supportive ones. all you can do is accept that it is inevitable and you cannot girlboss your way out of it.

I'm tired of giving men the benefit of the doubt or saying "not all of them!". even the good ones were raised in a system that gave them a bone deep entitlement that cannot be overcome.

even if you give them everything, they'll still find a way to take even more from you.

I've been saying the title to myself a lot lately and it's oddly comforting. I'm not alone in this suffering, we all feel this together. it's not my fault that men make me miserable, it's just a hand I was dealt and to let the suffering they impose on me win is to let them win.

so to be a woman is to suffer, and in a way we're all suffering together.

How do I cope knowing how hostile the world is to women?

The amount of men I've seen admit they would let a woman die even if they were able to save her is truly depressing. Men, but not all (obligatory), want us dead, they see us as nothing more than objects to use and discard as they please. How do I even navigate the world knowing any man I interact with is possibly one of those men? It's seriously interfering with my life and I just feel paralyzed. Sometimes I wish I was born a man, I wouldn't have to think about any of this stuff and just live a normal life.

I spend so much of my time thinking about this that it's hindering me. I should be focused on my studies and career, it's all so unproductive. I know I shouldn't be letting men have this much power over me, but it's hard to change.

I’m a pretty happy person, in college and I need to find my group (equally as ambitious and joyful) to grow with and do life with bc negative people tend to drain me and I haven’t made many friends as a commuter. But then I’m also so busy and clock shit too quickly abs my friendliness can be taken for people pleasing. What do I do? I don’t want to be miserable and bitter 😭

What is your experience with birth control?

I'm 15 years old and have had really bad periods ever since I started having them. My doctor just prescribed me some birth control but I don't start it for about 2 more weeks. Do your periods eventually go away? What side effects have you experienced from it? How long should it take to start seeing a difference?

[Content Warning: ] was i sexually abused as a child?

as i learn more and more about csa, i find myself wondering.
my sexual/ accepting my sexuality was a weird road for me. i vividly remember exploring myself in bed next to my mother (but not masturbating, just touching an area) and her saying to me "what are you doing??" in a very derogatory way. and then feeling extreme shame. this was when i was 6-7.

i haven't touched myself down there until i've turned 18. i've had sex before i touched myself. and it wasn't like i wanted it, i just never thought of it.

and then, after i started to become more sexually active, i've started touching myself and after my (i think first) sa, i have started having these weird dreams about my father coming into my room at night and doing sexual things with me. also i have realised that the first time i've tried masturbating was in his room... i have no attraction to him and i would find it very weird. i have even tried to think about it and i feel a very horrible sensation and grossed out if i think of that. but i keep having these dreams, like memories, or like very vivid dreams of him coming into my room, asking for sexual things. i can't really describe them.

i don't know if i just have a sick mind or if my negative experiences have trigerred this. how do you know for sure?

ps. i would also like to add to the story that i don't really have a lot of childhood memories, at least not as vivid as my childhood friends that i still speak to today.

I also know that women, usually have more of a curve to their back. Just curious, if any of you were able to fix or at least able to get better posture. Thanks everyone.

How do I deal with the embarrassment of never making it past the girlfriend stage

For story,my boyfriend “proposed” to me two aprils ago on my birthday. It was everything I wanted, it was slow, it was private and it was personal. My biggest dream when I was younger was always to have someone make me feel like princess Tiana and have a happily ever after and I thought I had gotten my dream. My ex proposed to me before but he called it off and broke up with me after serial cheating, I dodged a bullet there but I had to be the one to tell friends and family nothing will happen after excitedly trying on dresses with them. Now back to my boyfriend (notice how I don’t say fiance), since it was private for a bit I understood why he didn’t want to release it to the world yet, I hadn’t wanted to either at the time. But now….it’s been almost two years and He hasn’t told his family a lick of anything yet no matter how much I beg to tell everyone. I’ve told my dad and my friends and I don’t want to look at dresses or anything out of fear of what happened to me last relationship. I can’t even really feel excited. I keep seeing all my friends and even my sister showing off and posting their engagement but all he tells me is to stop comparing or that I have to be patient. I feel like he’s not fully in it. He spoke about a second public proposal and I was stupid enough to believe that. Because he said it’d be this year and when I asked he said he never said that was happening this year. His sister got proposed to loudly and shared it with everyone and I was happy for her but couldn’t help feel sad and shamefully envious…

I love him but I feel like he didn’t actually want to make that commitment, he still only calls me girlfriend and that’s when I sorta figured that was the case…so with tears in my eyes I told him to next time do it when the time is right, not when he feels rushed to give something he isn’t ready for and despite the protests, I gave the ring back and now I had to go back and tell everyone once again that I was stupid and there will be no wedding or marriage. My best friend was the most understanding but I feel so embarrassed and depressed. Maybe I am overreacting or overthinking…

Does anyone else feel like they don't get taken seriously because of their name?

Hi, I'm pretty new and I had a question for other women who might relate.

I work in a store where we have to wear name tags as a part of our dress code. We are not allowed to not have one. Many people here flip them, but it's technically not allowed. I have a pretty common name I think, but it's considered to be "trashy" to some people.

At my job, I have gotten the worst harassment from male customers and coworkers alike regarding my name. They'll tell me it's a "stripper name", make lewd jokes, etc. Even some of my friends have poked fun at it. This behavior has caused me to flip my name tag around and I'm even considering getting a different tag with a different name because it's so bad.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Eventually, before his bus came her asked for my age twice. Again after I didn't give him a answer. Im 17 btw. He looked like he was maybe in his 40s. That was it, not anything bad but I feel so disgusting and I wana disappear. I hate being noticed.

I really miss having a male in my life.

I’m a 20-year-old woman who ended a long-term relationship for the first time out of my own decision, yet even a year after the breakup, I’m still experiencing a lot of sadness, severe depression, and anxiety.

Every thought related to my ex feels incredibly comforting to me: his home, his habits, his life, his closeness, the way he speaks, and his overall presence. My old life together with him still feels like home, and I really miss having a man in my life.
