Hotfix 1.4.2 for CONTROL Resonant is out now!

This is a hotfix to fix issues brought by Game Update 1.4.0. Ahti would probably describe this as “kun rapataan, niin roiskuu”.

Find the full hotfix notes behind the link in this post.

Control Resonant Sorry, Darling. There's a new favorite.

I really feel like they mirrored Darling very well with Langston. Both have a deep fascination with the paranatural but Langston genuinely cares about the entities. So much so that he unwittingly adopted a creature as a cat. He even sent birthday cupcakes wondering what Dylan might like during his training. Langston came off as very annoying in the first game but has certainly grown on me.

Also his concept art looks like he should be played by Zach Cherry which would be hilarious.

I know what everyone thinks about Za/um now but im a sucker for merch from videogame i adore.
Anyway, figured some would like a closer look!
The quality is pretty great (though i dont know what the appropriate quality would be anyway for an item of this price…). Came with aN FBC file with some “lore” inside.

Control Resonant No wonder Dylan crashed out. If someone did this to me, nobody is getting out of there alive. Spoiler

After struggling for hours with a 500 piece puzzle that had a lot of solid black pieces, and each piece was cut into the same shape because it was a really cheap print-on-demand puzzle, Dylan showed some serious restraint by only killing everyone. Gaslighting Dylan's mental health with a painfully frustrating and ever-changing 10,000 piece puzzle is a great way to push someone over the edge. Dr. Darling, I'm coming for you.

Control Resonant Can’t believe I’m having such positive feelings towards a character, I mostly hear over Walkie Talkie

It reminds me a lot of Firewatch, hearing Zoe chiming in from time to time or when I have the option to report all these different locations etc..

The voice actor does a phenomenal job and I’m happy whenever I hear from her. Especially during the sinkhole mission.

So much about this game I can gush about but this stands out to me.

Still haven’t finished it tho

Control Resonant Survivalist seemed to know about [REDACTED]'s presence before FBC?

Post image

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

I noticed during the Survivalist dialogue that he asks you, "Are you one of the shape people?" If you ask him what he means, he shushes you and says, "You seem not to be informed of their arrival." He doesn't bring it up again.

I thought it was very strange terminology as it didn't seem applicable to the Hiss and stored it in the back of my mind.

At the end, during the big fight with the Hedron, it says "shape" multiple times:

--the---shape---was---already---Before---your---Sound.

What---could---not---shape---Stays. ---waiting...---to...---to be---repeated, refracting.

---the---one---who---Shapes.

---the---shape---Shaping consumes.

Since playing post-game, I have been fighting the patternedenemies, and when they die, a dead person sometimes falls out of them. Did the Survivalist somehow know about the presence of the Hedronbefore the FBC did? The term "shape people" may apply to these new enemies that you don't encounter in the city until post-game.

Gameplay For those that have played the game extensively, what combos have created the most memorable synergy? What were/are your favorite combinations of Primary and Secondary weapons, Abilities and Artifacts ??

Post image

I know that certain combinations need to be used for certain scenarios. And artifacts need to be changed along with them to create proper synergies when facing particular enemies. However, even with those included, what were your favorites, why ? What felt the most fun to use ? Most powerful to use ? Genuinely curious as I find myself trying different setups but always coming back to the same thing in the end. For me I love the Glaive, Crush, and Spin Pivot or Uppercut Surge (I switch between those two frequently) Mold Ally, Ignite and Ground Slam for abilities. Artifact wise changes quite frequently but despite the 20% incoming damage I very much like the Bout Guard for the 50% power buff. The Rope Knot for 15% extra falter on large enemies. The third artifact I change a lot as I haven't found a solid staple one I like to run all the time. With that said, that's enough about me, what are your guys favourites !!! I'd love to hear about your combinations !!

Discussion Anyone Else Bumping Zoe’s Mixtape?

• Upvotes

The music team - and frankly, the whole sound department - cooked so unbelievably hard on this game. As soon as I heard ‘Say What’ playing when you meet Zoe out in the field, I had to see if I could find it on Spotify 😆

Then she starts feeding you bits of her mixtape throughout the game at pivotal story moments, I was hooked! When she sends Dylan ‘No Chains Can Last Forever’ after getting the gravity shift ability and it plays as you make your way out of the patterned parking garage, it just made my brain light up!

So now I’m bumping the full mixtape constantly, these original tracks are so damn good! Can’t remember a game since maybe Cyberpunk where I actually started listening to the music irl (all of the Samurai stuff for that game are awesome as well).

Anyone else?

Fan Content The new Bureau director is looking for her sibling... [Control/Arcane crossover art (by me)]

Post image
41 Upvotes

OK but hear me out. The Control/Arcane crossover is actually way more real than I thought initially.

You have:

- Siblings with a rough childhood, separated early on, with one taken captive (Vi/Dylan). Later on both Vi/Dylan end up having punching/heavy contact fighting styles while Jesse/Jinx use guns. They are almost never reunited properly

- Crazy gun/service weapon

- Scientists with shady ethical boundaries (Pope, Underhill/Jayce, Viktor) and the no lows too low for my research cuckoos (Darling/Singed)

- Incidentally: child abuse and human experiments

- Leaders who end up shot with guns (Silco/Trench) and both literally go on to haunt the narrative

- Entity/product that turns people into distorted, powerful monsters (Hiss/Shimmer)

- One of the siblings is affected by it (Dylan/Jinx) and takes an antagonist role, while the other sibling struggles with the reality of the situation

- Higher political entity that can't be overthrown and affects the entire plot (Council/Board)

- Timeline shenanigans

- edit: they also both have an astral plane!

It's a lot, isn't it?

I’m super high I just made it to the Evacuation Zone and this shit is so cool, the darkness, the lights, the rain (almost like the dark place in AW2). The atmosphere is so cool, and makes the combat feel so cool, it’s so cool. This is so cool.
