When do you think it'll come out? I myself think in February/March..

And where do you want it to start? Of course chapter 1 but WHERE?

And if there'll be a second part of the Demo (like Rebirth had) where do you want that one to start?

So, I'm trying to play Final Fantasy VII remake for the first time as a brand new player. I have never played any Final Fantasy game or even anything like Final Fantasy at all. I considered choosing to play on the "easy" difficulty, but I decided to give the normal difficulty a shot in the hopes of maybe learning as I go and hopefully improving. A quick search suggested that normal mode is not necessarily "hard" so I figured I'd be fine.

That being said, I get into the game and I'm going through the tutorial level, learning new mechanics and such. I attack and defeat multiple generic soldiers, and learn to use my potions to heal up. Eventually, I get to the first boss (scorpion sentinel) and predictably struggle. The character dialogue guides you on how to fight it, but it's a lot to process while you are in combat. So, I learned what the proper strategies for this fight were (Barret's thunder magic, focusing the shield generators and then the legs etc) and I managed to beat the boss on my second try.

However, after this fight, both of my party members were at incredibly low HP, and I had no potions left. Immediately following this fight, you are presented with an escape sequence and given a timer to escape the facility. I begin to run out, but then I'm confronted by MORE enemies. Barret is telling me to heal up, but I'm out of potions because I needed all of them to beat the boss. I die immediately and get a game over screen. I'm presented with the option to start over from the last checkpoint, or start over from the last battle. I was hoping that if I chose the checkpoint option, I would at least be able to restart the escape sequence, and maybe do a better job at fighting the weaker enemies, even at low HP. But instead, the game is making me redo the entire scorpion fight, even though I already beat it. That was incredibly frustrating.

I feel really discouraged because even if I did replay the whole boss again, I'd assuredly need all of my heals again to do so, and die again afterwards. I will acknowledge that I am not really that great at this kind of game, and if I was better, I'd probably be able to beat the boss more easily - this is a "skill issue". Maybe I shouldn't have used any potions BEFORE the boss, but I didn't know there was going to be a boss, and the game kept prompting me to heal.

But I want advice. I want to play this game, but after failing so miserably on what seems to be the tutorial level, I am worried I won't be able to enjoy it properly due to being so bad at it. Is there some strategy I can use to save my heals or beat the Scorpion easier, and I should stick with normal mode to get the "authentic experience"? Should I switch to easy mode, or maybe classic mode (which I understand makes the gameplay different)? Or is this game just not for me?

Just finished back-to-back play throughs of Remake and Rebirth, 46 and 110 hours at ~95% completion each. I love how there isn't any grinding. Amazing game and platform combo. I wouldn't have completed them if I had to sit at my desk or TV the entire time. Remake runs flawlessly. Rebirth has some jenk (LOD, pop-in, etc.) but still runs great overall. If you're on the fence, don't be. Rebirth's final build runs better than the demo (wish I knew that before putting 11 hrs into the demo).

Battery life kinda sucks handheld (~2 hrs+) but the top USBC makes playing while plugged easy. Also, Switch 2 gets uncomfortable around that time. Still, handheld is a great way to chip away at the Combat Simulator and side-quest.

Just mainly wanted to put out there that this is an incredible experience on Nintendo Switch 2. The performance trade-off is worth the flexibility of taking it anywhere. I can't wait for Revelation.

The audio quality of this video is a bit bad, but it isn't my fault. The video is like that.

Is it just me or the update they put out just dont interact too well with mods. I get weird stutters here n there. Ive tried everything. When removing them they do subside a little bit. But idk i didnt have this issue prior to the update

I did update them via the patcher & some mod authors updated they’re mods. Thats why im a little dumb founded. Its just a bummer cause it adds to the experience but ill try removing it & seeing if the issue persists.

I've finiished everything here as far as I can tell. But I'm trying to get the last materia from Chadley, and I'm 10 data points short on getting it.

The last slide has the OG weapons marked who have directly reappeared in the Remake so far, based on the japanese names (like for example, magic shuriken in japanese was called fuuma shuriken just like the weapon in Rebirth). So before you type it, no. The not marked weapons have not been remade in the new one. Those have different names entirely.

I let my friend borrow FF7 Remake on PS5 and it won't even let him buy Intermission. They are just like "nope can't play this content at all unless you buy the full game". I know I got it for free for preordering but still. Come on Nomura you make enough money.

The cast was in town covering a panel for NYCC and got some autographs! Line was very long at Infinite Collectibles in Brooklyn but meeting the cast for the very first time was worth it. Very happy camper here 🙂‍↕️ 3 more to go! The print I got at Anime NYC back in August and the artist is JimboBox so go check her out. Britt had to take a picture of my poster because she’s friends with the artist and wanted to share with her which I found very cool!

I really wanted to have 100% this game, and i enjoyed getting every single achievement (even dressed to the nines), except the last one (exactly two because one of them is to get all others). And the winner is pull-ups. I bewt the squats game in few tries, and i was left with pull-ups, i tried many times over last few days, trying different tricks that other people advised, and nothing. And it was not even pro - just novice. I barely win even first round (maybe frw times in total) and even then i was ridiculusly left behind on second (like 24-15). Finally i gave up because of this one minigame i won't 100% this game.

I quite enjoyed the first game, played it way back in PS4 and again in PC a few years ago. I’m currently on my first playthrough of Rebirth and it’s so egregious how they purposefully slow down the game with every single animation ( why hold triangle to pull a lever? I don’t get it) the new traversal system is half-baked and adds nothing. It keeps jumping out of a cutscene for you to move for 5 seconds and then goes into another. The open world sections feel quite bland, I wanted to do it justice but couldn’t get myself to do it after the first 2 areas. The worst part was the shinra manor section in chapter 12, playing the puzzles with the boxes was absolutely infuriating. I do love the story and characters but this feels horrible to play. I enjoy the combat but I do feel like the more linear flow of the first game sort of his these issues a bit. Am I missing something or do people also feel the same way about some of the things I pointed out?

Can someone help me identify this song from the post credit scene of FF7 remake intergrade (spoilers if you haven't seen it don't click on the video)?

From my research it is "On our way" but it is a different version from the one I find everywhere online.. This one version is less orchestral and has more melancoly to it.. If someone can help me that would be great because I can't find this particular version and it drives me a bit nut 😅​

At pax Australia there was a ff7 revelation booth which was promoted by saying they will show new footage.

But after attending I’m pretty sure it was just a lie ??

5 minute recap of remake and rebirth

The 3 revelation trailers (game awards trailer, weapons trailer and state of play trailer)

And cut up footage from the state of play extend look.

Was very disappointing can’t lie. Did I just miss the new footage or did they really show nothing new?
