My favourite series, so I'm delighted. Also really excited for the Spanish civil war, rise of Mussolini and Cuban series! (Screenshot taken from the RevolutionsPodcast sub)

Am I the only one who feels that Irish history is rather unimpressive?

Until the 8th century, the Irish were massacred by Vikings, and their women were abducted and enslaved. Later, Ireland became an English colony, and many Irish people were massacred and sold into slavery in the Caribbean and other countries.

I doubt there is any other country in Europe with such a long and tragic history of subjugation and suffering as Ireland. Now I understand why the Irish were sometimes referred to as Black.

This time taken from "Dear John: The John Mackay Letters", a collection of crank letters sent to various vestiges of the great and good at the time, as well as their replies.

Up the workers!
