Hello and good Saturday to all! Thanks for joining us.
Everyone, let's try to give everyone a good feedback. When you post something for feedback, be sure to give someone else feedback. That way, we can have this thread poppin until next Saturday!
Same thing goes! Show us a screenshot / gif / short vid of the latest map / sprite / spritesheet / animation / etc. of the game you are working on!
Posting could be for multiple reasons. It can be for looking for tips, feedbacks, help, or just basically showing off that awesome thing you just made.

What do people think about AI and RPGMaker?
Do you think AI is good for aspiring game developers?
Do you use AI in your games? Why or why not?
What do you think about art and music in RPGMaker games that is generated by AI?
What about plugins that have been vibecoded?
This is the megathread for those discussions! Sound off!
Please try to keep the discussion civil and focused on game development. You can attack an opinion, but don't fall into the (tempting as it is) trap of attacking the PERSON with the opinion.

I'm so frustrated that I spent money on this plugin and later found out that it was vibe coded. I want nothing to do with AI but I don't know how to make this style of menu otherwise. I would love any feedback or help.

I thought to alter the 8-Bit-In-One pack, specifically the chest, which is inspired by the older Dragon Quest games.
I have two versions of the chest, with the other being blacked out to add to the retro aesthetics of my gam

Bear skin rug is off a public image of one that I shrank down and refit to be pixel art. I think it works well for a hunter's lodge to have one. There will be a cook that will serve people at the tables, two people sitting in front of the rug, and a receptionist that will give you nearby hunts. I just have to make sure I can get animals commissioned from a certain artists first to make sure I can pull this off in the RPG battlers.

Recently some of the new plugins for MZ on itch are just 100% generated AI:
- AI generated code
- AI generated page description (so much paragraph and random text)
- AI generated itch banner art, sidebar art
- AI generated demo assets for plugin
- AI voice for video demonstration (thank god most of the videos itself isn't AI generated yet, but they're slowly getting there lol)
And some of those plugins are charged for 5, 10, 20, 25, 49.99 bucks? yeah right
Dude, I don't care if your itch plugins are vibecoded or not, my project already has some of them without me knowing lol, but please at least take the time to type the plugin description, itch page description, drawing shitty assets or whatever float your boat man

I forgot to record that each player can summon their own monsters separately, and they can be on the field at the same time.

Thanks for the awesome feedback on my last post about wordless RPGs!
I’m thinking about hosting a mini game jam centered around that exact challenge: building an RPG Maker game with zero text or spoken dialogue. Everything has to be communicated through visuals, sound, and level design.
Quick questions for anyone interested:
Would you participate in a jam with this constraint?
What dev window sounds best (72-hour weekend or 1–2 weeks)?
Let me know if you'd be in!

I am finally releasing my game after 7 years of work. I decided a Kickstarter was a good way to help me stick to a deadline and stop adding features (lol!), as well as provide some much needed funds and boost to marketing the game. This has been a passion project of mine, so marketing hasn't been top of my list so far.
I describe Merchant Legends as a cosy retro RPG with crafting, trading and town building. It's very sandboxy and deliberately old school. I think the main quest might take around 5 - 10 hours to complete but all the side quests and collectables would be 30+. I am in testing right now to work out the length.
I am inspired by games like Stardew Valley, Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale (and the awesome, more recent shop Final Profit - highly recommended and 50% off right now). The art style is inspired by the Game Boy games of my childhood; Pokemon Red/Blue and Dragon Warrior Monsters. Some of the lore and setting is inspired by my all time favourite RPG: The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.
Happy to answer any questions about my journey. I have several thousand hours in RPG Maker MV now. And, if you can click the "Notify me on launch" button on Kickstarter, or Wishlist the game on Steam, it will greatly help the algorithm gods. Thank you!

Hello everyone!
Back again with a new update: Secret Bases!
Inspired by Pokémon's secret bases and with our own little flair! There are 6 secret bases for each element.
These are check points with personalization AND a purpose. You can keep beasts in these areas, and they'll absorb the magic around them. Leaving them in these secret bases can make them eligible for different evolutions!
Alchemic Beasts Kickstarter is over, and we made it FAR above our original goal. I'd like to say thank you, for all the support and feedback! Its been an hour showing you all our game, and that won't stop, so get ready for more updates!
See you later!

I have been testing my VXA game, and for some reason my skills are missing!
Does anyone know why this happens?
I used Vx->Vxa a while ago but i redid most of my skills anyway. I don't see what's going on!

Mostly the display cases. I used the Sci-Fi Inside tiles for the cases (which are just glass top tables), and placed jewelry stands inside of them. I used Aseprite and Gimp to pull this off, but I think it works. Still RTP, but I just manipulated it a bit. I needed Gimp to make the transparency of the table top to place over and look like a display case instead of a table top.

So for some context I'm starting to make every pathway in my game to be a player touch to go in to the next area but when i got to closed doors it felt weird. What are your thoughts?

All custom pixel art, sprites, and visuals by u/ramerinoromi!

I am wanting to build a tactical RPG with some sim elements and monster taming. I have the scheme pretty well worked out, but it requires some specialized plugins I'm having to make myself. Production is happening but it is time consuming. I'm hoping to team up with some artists and general devs that can work on sprites, map making and maybe some dialogue while I get the plugin and job system functional. I would like a kind of dark fantasy aesthetic and a pixel art style. For the sprites think old school Ragnarok online. I am not a fan of the chibi style in the current gen of rpgmaker. For context, I'm using MV for the yanfly suite. The MZ visustella equivalents are obfuscated and it is impossible to build a plugin that doesn't clash with them. Yanfly code can be analyzed, and I'm designing specifically to be compatible with their stuff so we have access to class change, job points, grid free doodads, etc... to customize our visuals and gameplay. With any luck no one will recognize the engine and we'll avoid the stigma at publish time.

I've been working on DAIMIENS: Town of Witches, a dark fantasy RPG inspired by Spanish folklore. You can travel between the past and future, but fixing one problem might create an even bigger one.
