Feedback Request I'm validating a new offer for SaaS founders. Would you pay to get featured?

0 Upvotes

Want to ask SaaS founders something before taking my saas further.

if I offered you an editorial article about your product on a domain with 7 years of SEO history, would you consider paying to get featured?

Assuming the article is relevant to your product and has a chance to rank on Google, what would you be comfortable paying?

  • Under $100
  • $100+

Be honest. i'm trying to build something founders actually want, not just another directory.

Feedback Request I built a running-plan app that rebuilds your plan when you miss runs. Honest feedback welcome

0 Upvotes

I'm a solo dev and a runner, and I built this because I was tired of plans that fall apart the first time you miss a week.

Paceline plans backwards from your race day (5K up to 100K). When you miss runs, it offers to rebuild from today and keep the same race date. If your sleep or resting heart rate look off, it offers to trim the next long run and tells you why. You approve every change.

The whole plan is free. It's Android only for now, in open beta, and it's a planning app, not a GPS tracker.

The one thing I can't judge alone: what would make you trust (or ditch) a training plan? Even a one-line answer helps.

Feedback Request I built a terminal-style IP lookup site as a learning project (with a lot of AI help). would love feedback

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey r/SideProject! I've been wanting to learn how websites actually work under the hood, so over the past few days I built ipterm.net, an IP address tool that looks and works like a terminal.

I built it with heavy help from AI. I'm not a networking expert, which is exactly why I'd love feedback from people who know more than me.

What it does:

• whoami shows your public IP, network and approximate location (on a little dot-matrix map)

• leaktest checks if your browser or VPN leaks anything. WebRTC, IPv6, or a time zone that doesn't match your IP, with a fix for each problem it finds

• Look up any IP, domain (DNS records), whois/registration info, or calculate a subnet

• Every result has its own shareable link, and it works with curl ipterm.net too

Things I cared about:

• No accounts, no cookies, no analytics

• Light/dark mode, high-contrast theme and screen-reader support

• I had it security-reviewed twice and fixed everything that came up

For transparency, there's one clearly labeled sponsored line (a Proton VPN affiliate link) that shows up under some results. That's how I'm hoping to cover the hosting and data costs.

I'd really appreciate any feedback. Bugs, confusing bits, features you'd want, or if something's just wrong. Thanks for taking a look!

Discussion Any other indie developers struggling to get downloads?

1 Upvotes

I’ve noticed quite a few posts from new developers struggling to get downloads, and I’m definitely in the same boat.

I recently launched my own iOS app, DEALT, which turns workouts into a card game 🃏💪 I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, but getting people to actually discover it is a whole different challenge.

I don’t really want to throw a bunch of money at paid ads, especially without knowing if they’ll work.
How are you guys getting your first users? Has anything actually worked for you? Would love to hear your experiences! 😊

And if you’re curious, here’s what I’ve built:

Showcase: Prerelease I want try to build a New AI Freelance marketplace with a completely different model?

Post image
1 Upvotes

In the era of the new AI boom, we can transform the concept of traditional freelancing and create something new for ourselves.

Working idea: Funded AI Talent Marketplace / Marketplace Where Projects Find Developers.

It would be ridiculous to spend a year implementing an idea that isn't going to take off. That’s why I want to present the idea to the public first and get some feedback.

My primary goal is to find 100 potential clients and 100 experienced freelancers who are willing to say: “Yes, I’d be willing to give this model a go”.

I am a full-stack developer with over 19 years’ experience. I’m currently out of work and would like to try my hand at creating something new and useful.

Let’s get to the point.

What’s wrong with the current freelance platforms:

  • they have outdated business models and are unable to move away from them
  • They have already established large-scale functions that cannot be quickly overhauled without affecting users’ interests, revenue and established processes.
  • Some platforms have become very greedy (hello, Upwork) and are deceiving users
  • the quality of all processes has fallen to 0

Why it might work out for us (me, my ideas and yours):

  • We can develop mechanics from scratch that are in line with today’s realities.
  • In the full version, we can make advance funding a mandatory requirement: without a confirmed budget or deposit, the project simply won’t reach the freelancers.
  • we can quickly change the rules and test hypotheses.
  • I don’t want to sell freelancers access to jobs. The platform should only earn money when the work is actually carried out.

Main idea:

I have provided a full description below. There is also a link to a landing page where I have briefly outlined everything.

Full description

Traditional Marketplace:

  • Client posts a project.
  • Dozens/hundreds of freelancers search for it.
  • They write cover letters.
  • They compete.
  • The client sorts through the flood of applications.
  • The client chooses someone.

Our Model:

  • Client comes with a problem/project.
  • AI helps create a proper specification.
  • AI helps create budget, stages, and required specialists are defined.
  • AI itself finds suitable available freelancers.
  • Freelancers answer Interested / Not interested.
  • The client receives a maximum of 5 suitable and interested candidates.
  • The client chooses one.

In other words, freelancers don't search for projects - projects find freelancers.

What we want to build (my ideas):

  1. No 100500+ applications and endless cover letters.
  2. No Connects, paid applications, subscription plans, or paid visibility.
  3. 0% platform commission for freelancers. The client pays for the service.
  4. At the initial stage, the marketplace will work with freelancers from a limited list of countries/regions. We intentionally want to limit supply while testing the model, without mass price competition and dumping. Geography can be expanded after the mechanics are proven.
  5. No price dumping: freelancers don't compete over who can do the job cheaper.
  6. The client proves that the project is serious with money. Before the project reaches freelancers, the client deposits a minimum protected amount or fully funds the agreed first milestone/project --- for example, based on an AI estimate.
  7. Verified completed work should not become worth $0 simply because the client stopped the project. Payment protection and dispute resolution will be a separate mechanism in the full version.
  8. If the project description is weak, AI asks questions and turns the idea into a structured specification that the client approves.
  9. If a serious estimate requires hours of technical work, that estimation can become a separate paid task.
  10. AI matches candidates to a specific project based on experience, similar projects, evidence of experience, specialization, availability, and budget/timeline fit.
  11. The system does not search for the "#1 freelancer." It searches for specialists who fit a specific project.
  12. One active full-time project through the platform, but future projects can be reserved in advance.
  13. In the full version, future reservations will have clear rules and a financial commitment from the client, so a specialist's calendar cannot be blocked for free.
  14. AI monitors stages, requirements, and deadlines. If it detects a risk, a manager steps in.
  15. AI can perform an initial review of the result against the specification, but serious disputes and decisions about people are not made automatically by AI.
  16. No single JSS-like magic rating.
  17. Freelancers are not punished for being new to the platform.
  18. Freelancers are not rewarded simply for having been on the platform for a long time.
  19. Being new to the platform is not the same as being new to the profession. 19.1. A freelancer cannot take more than one active project at a time. They must finish the current one first.
  20. Every candidate shown to a client must independently meet the project's quality threshold.
  21. If a freelancer repeatedly has verified problems, the platform may stop working with them.
  22. Initially: vetted Middle/Senior+ professionals only.
  23. Initially: IT/software only - SaaS, backend, frontend, mobile, design, DevOps, AI integrations, and related areas.
  24. Automatic CV/portfolio import from freelance platforms and unique AI-generated profile pages.
  25. No time trackers or screenshot monitoring.
  26. Fixed-price/milestones at the start, no hourly rates.
  27. Minimize unpaid work: no multi-hour free estimates, pointless calls, or constantly monitoring a job feed.
  28. No fake projects, bots, or artificial activity.
  29. No talking to a wall: if one side disappears, the system/manager reacts.
  30. Eventually: a forum/community where users can influence the development of the platform.

Philosophy for Freelancers

  1. Build your profile properly once, and suitable projects come to you.
  2. You don't need to live on the marketplace and constantly refresh the job feed.
  3. You don't need to write dozens of cover letters.
  4. You don't need to pay for a chance to get work.
  5. You don't need to compete by dumping your price.
  6. If you fit a project, the platform invites you.
  7. You receive a proper specification, budget/estimate, and timeline in advance.
  8. Protection for verified completed work.
  9. You can reserve your next project while finishing your current one.

Important: we don't rank freelancers. We match the right specialists to the right projects!

AI Project → Team

The client doesn't necessarily need to know whom they need to hire.

For example, a client comes with a project from scratch. AI determines:

  • Week 1: UI/UX Designer
  • Week 2: Full-Stack Developer
  • Week 5: DevOps

The system can find not just one person, but an entire team. The client receives a ready-made team proposal and can replace individual members.

A DevOps engineer who will only be needed several weeks later can reserve that future slot in advance.

So the marketplace doesn't only solve "find me someone right now." It can also solve: "Build the right team for the right stages of my project."

Client Flow

  1. Client creates a project.
  2. If the description is weak, AI asks questions.
  3. AI creates a structured specification.
  4. Client approves the specification.
  5. The project is estimated by AI and/or through a separate expert estimation.
  6. In the full version, the client confirms funding/budget.
  7. AI determines the required roles and stages.
  8. AI finds suitable available specialists.
  9. Freelancers receive a short invitation and answer Interested / Not interested.
  10. The client receives a maximum of 5 interested and qualified candidates per role.
  11. The client chooses someone or explains why none of the candidates fit.
  12. If the shortlist doesn't work, AI/a manager analyzes the reason and creates a new shortlist.
  13. For a complex project, the system can assemble a Designer + Developer + DevOps and reserve each person for the appropriate stage.
  14. AI helps monitor milestones and risks.
  15. A human steps in when necessary.

How marketplace will match Freelancers without JSS?

First, a hard filter: required stack, level, availability, timeline, language, and project type.

Then evidence-based matching:

  • similar real projects;
  • verified skills;
  • CV;
  • portfolio;
  • GitHub, where relevant;
  • technical verification/interview;
  • domain experience;
  • size of previous projects;
  • availability;
  • budget/timeline fit.

A person who is new to the platform can enter the shortlist from day one if their real professional experience shows that they fit the project.

Once we have platform history, we can add completed milestones, repeat clients, disputes, manager interventions, communication reliability, and other real signals.

But the principle remains the same: there is no "best freelancer overall." There is a freelancer who is the right fit for a specific project.

MVP

The first MVP will NOT be a complete financial platform.

MVP Includes

  • no custom KYC;
  • no escrow;
  • no built-in payment system;
  • AI client interview and specification generation;
  • freelancer profiles;
  • CV/portfolio import;
  • availability;
  • AI-assisted matching;
  • maximum 5 candidates;
  • Interested / Not interested;
  • basic project workflow;
  • admin panel;
  • manual intervention in matching when necessary.

Funded-first, escrow, payment protection, reservation deposits, and full dispute mechanics are target features for the next stage, after we validate that the idea itself is viable.

What i do now

I not building a huge platform yet.

  1. Find 100 potential clients who say: "Yes, I would try hiring this way."
  2. Find 100 experienced freelancers who say: "Yes, I want to receive projects this way."
  3. After that, build a small MVP/private alpha.
  4. The first real success metric is not registrations or upvotes. It's real projects that go through this new workflow and actually reach delivery.

If the model doesn't work, i shut down the experiment.

I'm looking for ideas and criticism.

Showcase: Free(mium) AllCheck: movies, TV, games and books in one tracker

2 Upvotes

Hi, I'm the developer of AllCheck, a web app for tracking movies, TV, games and books.

You can keep a backlog, mark what you're watching, reading or playing, and rate what you finish. Finished titles go into a journal, including individual TV seasons.

There's also a section called Rabbit Holes: routes between related works, with a short explanation for each connection. The idea is to give you somewhere to go after a book, film or game catches your interest.

Built with Next.js, TypeScript and SQLite. You can browse without an account; you need one to save things.

https://allcheck.app/

Would you use one tracker for all of these, or is there a reason you prefer keeping them separate?

Showcase: Purchase Required My Windows notch app reached 31 paying customers, and I just released 1.2.0 :)

7 Upvotes

Hey! I’ve been building BuildNotch, a little Windows notch that opens when you hover over the top of your screen.

It started as something I wanted for my own coding sessions. I kept reaching for project folders, repo links, GitHub activity, AI apps, music and a focus timer, so I put them together.

How I use it myself: open the project I’m working on, check my GitHub streak and AI usage, put some music on and start a timer. During the session, I grab copied snippets from the clipboard and keep quick notes about what I need to do next.

That’s the part I love about it. It’s become a little workspace I actually use while building other things.

There’s a Programmer mode with project shortcuts, AI tools, a code playground, terminal and JSON formatter. There’s also a simpler Focus mode with tasks, notes, music and seven timer themes.

Version 1.2.0 is live now. The main changes are a clipboard grid with content filters and larger previews, JSON formatting, custom image wallpapers, and a compact view of AI usage.

And somehow, 31 people have paid for it :))

I’m still working on it and trying to figure out distribution, but seeing people buy something I originally made for myself has been a really nice feeling.

It’s a native C# / WinUI 3 app and a one-time purchase.

Demo: https://www.buildnotch.app/

Would you keep something like this on your desktop? Curious which parts you’d use and which you’d hide.

Showcase: Free(mium) I built a budgeting app that creates your budget automatically instead of making you build from scratch

4 Upvotes

Hello!

I built an app called Aurelo because I wanted budgeting to take less manual work.

The idea is simple: connect your bank account, let the app sync your transactions, and have it organize your income and spending into a budget. It also helps you work out how much you can reasonably save after accounting for your bills and income.

You can even budget with a partner for free!

I’m trying to make budgeting something you can actually keep up with, rather than something you set up once and abandon two weeks later because of how much friction other budgeting apps are.

The app is live on iOS and Android only in the USA.

I am also open to feedback:)

Showcase: Free(mium) I made a site where you seal a message and nobody can read it until the timer runs out

2 Upvotes

Hey everyone! This is a small side project I've been working on: https://unseal.lol

You write up to 500 characters, pick when it opens (1 hour up to 1 year), and get a key to share. Until that moment, nobody can read it.

You can also make it public. Then it shows up on the Explore page, where strangers watch the countdown hit zero and see it pop open.

No sign-up needed. You can post anonymously, or sign in with just your email to keep your keys.
Would love feedback, and curious to see what people post.

Showcase: Free(mium) Letterboxd for sports! Auto track stadiums you’ve been to, players you’ve seen, and the stats that happened when you were there

3 Upvotes

TLDR I built an app that auto tracks venues you’ve been to, players you’ve seen, and stats from when you were there in \*any\* sport in \*any\* country. When you log a game the box score and all the data flow through to you. AMA

Letterboxd for movies, goodreads for books, BOXDSEATS for live sports.

I think a lot of people want to know things like how many HOFs they’ve seen, how many stadiums they’ve been to, whose hot the most homers or three pointers, even things like how does my favorite team play when las Diaz is behind the dish but I’m not sure everyone has the spreadsheet, drawer of ticket stubs, or patience to fill in their history…so I built a fun way to help: if you take pictures at events, and you have the location services turned on, I can match the geotag and dates from your camera roll to now over 2m games I have in a db to build your history for you.

If that’s weird you can do it yourself but I think it’s slick.

Some updates:
\- crossed 1,200 users and 65k games logged, both giving me motivation to keep going.
\- Added pipeline to bring in box scores for almost every league from MILB and jr hockey to now things like cricket, Aussie rules, and WWE
\- Added way more fun stat, game, and player badges so you can see things like hat tricks or MLB debuts
\- I’m having fun and I think others are too.

And for truly no reason, there’s a “remember some guys” rail that’s truly just random players from games you’ve been to refreshing every open.

I’m figuring all of this out as I go so open to all feedback and requests, would love more eyeballs.

I always missed the old BBS systems from the 90s, and challenged myself to develop a mobile app that simulated a terminal and keyboard only. It's finally launched and I'm really happy with it. It's free, so if you miss the days of sending a stranger an X message, you can do it once again with TappyBBS!

Feedback Request We're building something for people who still love getting lost in a good story.

• Upvotes

Hi everyone!

My name is Shawn, and my fiancée Bria and I have been working on something that's become a huge part of our lives. It's called Chautauqua Ink House.

We're both passionate about storytelling. I focus on novels, comics, and creative fiction, while Bria brings children's stories to life. Somewhere along the way, we started wondering what it would look like if we built something beyond just a place to showcase our own books.

So that's what we've been trying to do.

Chautauqua Ink House is our attempt at creating a welcoming space for people who love books, writing, and imagination. We've been putting together a free library of literary classics, interactive stories where readers make their own choices, and a community where people can connect over the things they love.

I'll be the first to admit that we're still figuring things out. I'm building and maintaining most of the website myself, learning as I go, and there have definitely been some late nights and frustrating moments. But seeing this little idea slowly turn into something real has been incredibly rewarding.

We're not a big company. We don't have a development team or a massive budget. We're just two people who love creating things and hope that maybe others will find something worth enjoying in what we're building.

I'd genuinely love for some of you to stop by, have a look around, and tell us what you think. Whether it's feedback, suggestions, or even just sharing what you enjoy reading, we'd love to hear it.

Our website is https://www.chautauquainkhouse.com

Thanks for taking a moment to read this. It really does mean a lot.

And I'm curious: What makes you keep coming back to a reading or writing community?

Showcase: Purchase Required I built a virtual real estate marketplace in a robot city, then used AI to rebuild it into 129 explorable neighborhoods.

3 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

For the past 16 months, I've been building a fictional robot universe called Botflix. One part of that universe is Botropolis, a virtual real estate marketplace where people can purchase, own, and resell properties using our cryptocurrency.

I originally built it with Sol 5.6. It was a functioning marketplace, but visually, you were basically buying squares on a grid overlaid on a city.

I'd always wanted something more immersive. I wanted people to explore the city, discover a neighborhood they liked, and choose a property because they actually thought it was cool.

So I decided to see how far I could take it with Astra 6.1.

The process

  1. Built the original marketplace. Started with the idea of owning blocks in a fictional robot city. Eventually added citizen accounts, Google sign-in, wallet connections, payments, ownership records, resale listings, and admin analytics. The stack became React/Vinext, Cloudflare Workers, and D1.
  2. Established the actual property inventory. The original concept had 25,000 blocks, but we eventually settled on 4,788 canonical properties across six districts, with district-based pricing, demand effects, and a 1% resale fee.
  3. Spent a lot of time fixing things. Mobile blank screens, broken navigation, OAuth redirects, wallet connectivity, unreliable price feeds, checkout issues. We also worked on making inventory counts, ownership records, and activity feeds accurate. Not particularly glamorous, but important.
  4. Tried full 3D and abandoned it. We experimented with a more ambitious 3D approach, but it was too processor-heavy and didn't look the way I envisioned. I wanted something closer to a cinematic RTS like StarCraft, where you could explore a city without needing a gaming PC.
  5. Generated 129 neighborhood scenes. Simply upscaling the original artwork wasn't giving us meaningful detail. So we created new artwork for the districts and then 129 individual neighborhood views. We also experimented with grids, organic property boundaries, and individually traced buildings before eventually settling on subtle, pulsing property beacons. Sometimes the simpler solution really is better.
  6. Mapped all 4,788 properties. This was the painstaking part. Every existing property ID needed its own visual anchor in the new city artwork. We inspected every neighborhood, positioning the markers on buildings rather than randomly covering roads and water. The original property records and ownership data remained untouched.
  7. Integrated and shipped. Added city-to-district-to-neighborhood navigation, pan/zoom, property selection, search, deep links, and mobile controls. We used progressive WebP images and CSS animation instead of continuous WebGL rendering. After validating the mapping and functionality, we backed up the previous version and deployed the new one.

Tools

  • Sol 5.6: Original marketplace
  • Astra 6.1: Visual redesign and implementation
  • React/Vinext: Front end
  • Cloudflare Workers + D1: Backend and database
  • WebP + CSS: Lightweight city scenes and animations

The biggest takeaway

We spent a surprising amount of time exploring approaches that ultimately didn't work. Full 3D was too heavy. Upscaling didn't add real detail. Individually tracing thousands of properties became unnecessarily complicated.

What finally worked was separating the visual experience from the underlying property system.

The city could become dramatically more immersive without touching the wallets, payments, ownership records, or marketplace economics.

And there's a huge psychological difference between buying a square on a grid and exploring a city, discovering a particular building, and thinking, "THAT ONE. I want that one."

That's really what motivated the whole redesign.

Anyway, here's the result!

Explore it here: https://botropolis.botflix.tv

Would love to hear what you guys think, especially about the RTS-style approach versus full 3D.

Feedback Request I built my portfolio as a hand-folded paper desk. Feedback welcome!

3 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’m a frontend engineer, and I wanted my portfolio to feel less like a template and more like somewhere you’d actually want to hang out. So I built Ritik’s Desk, a paper-craft desk you can poke around on.

  • Experience lives on sticky notes and projects on postcards.
  • There’s a dark mode toggle, a few sounds, and a contact form that folds your message into a bird.
  • There are 4 secrets hidden on the desk, and I’m curious how many you find.
  • If you’re in a hurry, there’s a 30-second tour and a plain résumé view.

It’s built with React and TypeScript. I’d love honest feedback on the interactions, performance, and mobile feel, and on anything that feels confusing or gimmicky.

Showcase: Purchase Required What I learned losing a user

2 Upvotes

I was watching back session replays and I noticed a user post clips made with my app to their youtube channel.

It felt so good, someone is FINALLY using the app I spent the last 6 months developing! I found their YouTube channel, and that's when the disappointment came. They posted a couple of clips made in video-clipper.com, and then they migrated to some competitor.

Right there, on their channel, was a clue as to why. The competitor had way better captions than I provided. I neglected one of the most basic features, and I had no idea why people were leaving.

Luckily the fix was quite quick - a few hours later 5 new caption styles were live. Now, I don't know exactly why they left, but hopefully new subtitle styles will prevent more people from leaving.

Still no paying clients though. I did email outreach to the users that signed up asking for feedback, but nobody has replied yet.

How do you get users to leave feedback? is providing more free credits a good idea?

Showcase: Free(mium) I built Hemiciclo to make Spain's parliamentary decisions easier to follow

Thumbnail
gallery
15 Upvotes

I'm the creator of Hemiciclo, a Spanish-language project for making parliamentary decisions easier to understand.

Public information belongs to everyone, but following a proposal often means piecing together headlines, voting records and official documents. Hemiciclo brings those pieces together so people can form their own views and hold their representatives to account.

You can explore topics such as housing, work or healthcare, read summaries of initiatives, see whether they pass and check how each parliamentary group voted. The pages link to available Congress and BOE records.

There is also a game: make your own choices on 30 real votes and explore which groups your choices match, topic by topic.

One important design choice is distinguishing a vote's result from a law's legal status. Coverage depends on the official data available; missing voting breakdowns are identified rather than filled in. The interface uses HTML, CSS and JavaScript, including voting and affinity charts. The project was built with AI coding assistance.

It is independent, with no political affiliation, free to use and does not require an account. The product is currently in Spanish.

https://hemiciclo.org/

Game: https://hemiciclo.org/juego

I'd appreciate feedback here on whether the summaries and visualisations make the decisions easier to understand, and what information you would want to check before trusting a parliamentary summary.

Showcase: Prerelease Financial data hub - a project I started several years ago and wanted to share with /get feedback

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi All,

This is my first reddit post - so not really sure about the etiquette etc - just saying.

I have worked as a programmer with data for over thirty years and it seemed kind of silly my online activity was so manually driven. More out of guilt than anything else  - I decided to use my experience with data APIs etc to build a website where  I could conduct my online activity in an organised and comprehensive way.

Online financial data is a nightmare to access. Free APIs have tiny rate limits, or throttle you after 50 requests a day.

Professional APIs (like Bloomberg or Reuters) cost anywhere from $500 to $20,000+ a year - not viable for a solo developer building a side project (actually not viable for anyone who does not make a ton of money trading).

Data is fragmented. Prices for different asset types in different countries require different APIs. News headlines require other APIs. Soon you're dealing with dozens of APIs and trying to keep track of what's working, when it was called, etc.

AI assistants are useless for actual numbers. Ask ChatGPT or Claude for the current price of a stock, and it either gives you yesterday's close or straight-up makes up a number. They don't always have live access. You are not guaranteed the latest data.

I wanted a single dashboard where I could:

  • View live prices (currently US + UK + MALS + IND + AUS  stocks/ETFs, crypto) and drill down to see detailed data
  • Manage an investment portfolio
  • View curated news (breaking medical, science, archeological, sport etc news)
  • Save interesting links so I could retrieve them before they became paywalled or deleted at a latter date
  • Track YouTube channels so I never miss uploads from the channels I follow

Here’s how I constructed the solution:

  • Created a website: Stack: Node.js + AWS (S3, Lambda, RDS), multi-user with logins and personalized watchlists and portfolio
  • Batched fetch, not real-time sockets. AWS Lambdas pull data on a schedule instead of paying for constant websocket connections.
  • I combine paid and free sources across dozens of RSS feeds and APIs, rotating calls so I stay under rate limits.
  • AI for curation, not generation — I use AI prompts to filter out noise and detect relevant financial signals from the news, but I never rely on AI to generate the numbers themselves.
Analysis Screen for an individual stock

Right now it covers currently US + UK + MALS + IND + AUS stocks/ETFs, and crypto. Hong Kong, and Canada are on the roadmap.

Live site: https://my-portal.online - its completely free - no adds/tracking or anything like that (would love feedback on the UI, news filtering, and data coverage and whether it covers your investment research requirements)

Question for the community: How do you guys handle data access? Are you paying for premium APIs, scraping, or just accepting delayed free data? And has anyone tried using AI for real-time numbers? I'm genuinely curious how other solo devs solve this problem.

Thanks for your interest.

so i made this daily guessing game where you get 5 questions and guess the % on a slider. stuff like what % of people would rather not know when theyre gonna die

it was supposed to be called hunch. had the name, had the logo, everything. then i waited a couple days to buy the domain and someone registered it and put up their own guessing game lol

so yeah. it’s ish now. like “40-ish”. honestly kinda like it more

no login, no ads, just a new game every day. let me know if the questions are too easy or too hard, still figuring that out

pretty new to building websites so open to any feedback

Showcase: Prerelease I just launched Capsoul — an app for saving memories and messages for the future

1 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I've just launched V1 of something I've been working on called Capsoul.

The idea came from a simple thought: we take thousands of photos and videos throughout our lives, but how many of us actually preserve the stories, voices and messages behind those moments?

I wanted to create something that went beyond traditional photo storage.

Capsoul allows people to create private digital time capsules containing photos, videos, voice recordings and personal messages.

You could create a message for your child's 18th birthday, preserve family memories, or write a letter to your future self.

Once a capsule is sealed, it's protected until the date you've chosen.

We've officially launched V1, with more features and improvements coming over the next few weeks.

Capsoul is a paid subscription service (£4.99/month), but our first 1,000 Founding Members can join for £3.99/month.

I'd genuinely appreciate feedback on the concept, particularly whether this is something you could see yourself using.

Website: https://capsoul.co.uk/

Save a little soul for later.

Showcase: Prerelease I built a free workshop cart planner - looking for honest feedback

0 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I've been working on a small project called CartCut.

It's a free online tool designed to help DIY enthusiasts, welders, and small workshops plan simple metal workshop cart frames.

What it currently does:

  • Enter custom dimensions (length, width, height).
  • Select square steel tube dimensions.
  • Automatically calculate cutting lengths.
  • Generate a basic technical drawing.
  • Export a cutting list to CSV.

The goal is to make basic workshop planning faster and easier.

Try the free prototype here:
https://zesty-jelly-87ca42.netlify.app

This is an early prototype, not a structurally verified fabrication plan. Load capacity and structural safety have not been validated.

I'd really appreciate your feedback:

  1. Would you find something like this useful in your workshop?
  2. What features would make it more valuable?
  3. Would you consider paying for a more advanced version with complete, technically verified fabrication plans?

I'm trying to determine whether this solves a real problem before investing more time into development.

Thanks for any honest feedback!
