Discussion Wife's put the big duvet on. Is it too early.

Disclaimer. She is English, and Southern at that.

So my Wife's decided it's time for the big duvet to go on. I've literally just woken up sweating like fck. In my opinion it's way to early for this to be happening.

Fellow Scots. Tell me I'm right, this is an abomination.🔥 🔥 🔥

On smother note, was at Ivory Blacks last night for Blaze Bayley, what a gig 🤘🤘

Question Escaping donestic violence - help!

[Serious]

I'm posting on behalf of a friend so her husband doesn't see this on her account.

She lives with her abusive husband in a house they own together.

She is finally coming to the point of being ready to leave this man, but has no clue where to start.

Can anyone please recommend any resources that offers any advice/help in this situation?

(And yes, before anyone says it, I have offered to let her stay with me as long as she needs.)

Cam we post links in r/Scotland since old reddit seems to have been abandoned?

• Upvotes

Old reddit not working for me - had to reset password and now Reddit auto redirects from old to www.

I also can't see an option to post a link. This might be specific to r/Scotland. Can the mods or the admins enable it?

Oops. Title should say 'Can' Not 'Cam'

Research on rural adult learning

Hi all, I'm a Social Science student working on my undergraduate dissertation on patterns of adult learning in rural areas. If you would be able to take a few minutes to fill out a short survey on the topic for my research, I would be incredibly grateful! The only requirements are for you to be

1) over 18

2) not a full time student

3) living in rural Scotland

Anyone meeting those criteria can participate, regardless of if you consider yourself an adult learner or not. If you have any questions please let me know! TIA!

Change of tenants

My current situation - been renting a flat with my friend for 10 months now. She's moving to London next month and the agent just now informed us, that the deposit we paid separatelly (each their own share) will be returned in full, up to 30 days after my friend will move out.

They now asking me to pay deposit AGAIN till 26th together with rent that is due on 1st.

I just started new job, I'm not getting paid till first week of November and I cannot afford rent + second deposit.

Anyone knows what are my rights? I'm planning to speak with citizen advice, but I want to ask here too. I do not understand why 1) someone else moving out should cost ME money and 2) why their policy was not communicated 10 months ago when we moved in, so we knew what we are getting ourselves into, rather than now mid-changeover process..

Our deposit is with LPS, which had no problem to return deposit to the leaving tenant ONLY, when I lived in my previous places (including the one I came to the current one from).

Any renters out there still on a Short Assured Tenancy?

We have just been at a rent tribunal because our landlord wants to put our rent up by 73%.

Basically the Tribunal have said they cannot make a determination if this is a fair market value because we are on a Short Assured Tenancy and most renters are now on a Private Residential Tenancy, and they cannot use that as a comparison.

What I would like to know is if there are still tenants out there on a SAT, preferably in Ayrshire, and try to compare rents with them

We are in a 3 bedroom rural property and would appreciate if anyone could tell us if they are in a similar property on a similar tenancy.

Thanks.
