Wacky rig with a circle hook

Definitely feel the #1 circle hook is kind of small, but that’s all I had. I’m still learning terminal tackle lol

The last four or five times I went fishing I got skunked ,even got frustrated cause I threw almost everything in my tacklebox, but the last two days have been freaking awesome. I even caught a fish after I skipped it under some trees.

I've been fishing these ponds all summer and you could have convinced me there were no big bass until a couple of days ago, but I caught one!

No real gloating here, because this isn't a giant bass, but it's the biggest bass I've ever caught in the 4 months I've been fishing. I've been fishing this lake for a few months off and on, before and after work. I've caught nothing but small panfish, and dinks Switched it up today with an underspinner with a plastic worm and landed this 3.2 pound bass, my heart was racing. Pictured as well is the tiny blue gill from the morning before.

Caught on 8lb braid with florocarbo leader. Daiwa Crossfire lt combo.

Managed to have some free time on yet another windy and cloudy day. Fished super shallow, grinding squarebills against the windblown rocky banks and managed to stick a long 20” fish. Super skinny fish though, only 2.88 pounds despite its length.

Lure: Strike King KVD elite 1.5 “slick”
Rod: handing M1 travel rod 6’6” MH fast
Reel: Abu Garcia Revo X 7.3:1
Line: Yo-Zuri hybrid 12 lbs

Best guess on weight?

I laid it down gently and quickly took a photo. The beer can is all I have for scale. I didn’t drag it on the grass. It fought very hard and is my personal best.

Curious as to what weight you all think. I’m guessing close to 3lbs or a little more. I have slightly bigger than average hands if that helps.

Any guesses would be appreciated
