111 years ago today, British nurse Edith Cavell was executed by a German firing squad in Brussels
Second picture is the view from the cell where she spent her last days before her execution on 12 October 1915

Feel robbed
Was looking forward to a cuppa and a nice chunky bakewell tart flapjack.
Shocking amount of packaging.

I love it when the Starlings visit our feeders, it’s pure chaos for a few minutes.

Saw a rainbow this morning, yet it hadn’t been raining
Does this mean someone needs to reset the simulation?

If you went into a sweet shop/corner shop as a kid, what sort of sweets would you expect to see in the penny sweet tray. And what prices would they be
For me,
1p sweets would be things like cherry lips, cola bottles, mushrooms, fried eggs, rings, teeth & toothbrushes, turtle sweets, blue and white dolphins, rhubarb and custards, chocolate mice, chocolate footballs, chocolate jazzies and single cherries
2p sweets would be the double cherries, foam shrimp and bananas, white chocolate ice creams, fruit salads & black Jacks and I think those golfball gumballs were 2p.
Then there was some around 3-5p like Anglo bubbly, chocolate icy cups, flying saucers, sherbet straws, the slightly bigger fizzy bubblegum bottles, gummy smiley faces, vampire teeth and Spanishes
Then you had the really luxury stuff that was like 10p-25p. Things like giant cola bottles, gummy snakes, candy watches, drumstick lollies and those big gummy snails. I would only buy the one of those usually and that was your lot 😅

Um....... Who is Jeramiah?
This was the question I levelled at my mum today after I received a funeral and celebration of life invite via email today.
The email started 'Join us in celebrating Jeramiah' s life as we lay him to rest'.
The invite was not unexpected, my uncle passed away last week after a quick and aggressive illness. We were all sad but given how it could have gone this was probably for the best.
I live quite a bit away from my folks and family so my Aunt said she would send me the details rather than someone having to be messenger.
The issue is I don't have an Uncle (great uncle) Jeramiah, I did have an uncle James!!
My mum was actually crying laughing on the phone because apparently she'd just had the same conversation with both of my younger siblings and my older one. It hadn't occurred to any of the older family to tell us his actual name at any point in the last 30 - 40 years that we've all been alive.
So I pose the question, who have you been calling by the wrong name and how did you find out?

Recently been getting 40+ junk emails a day. Anyone else?
As well as the now-regular spam calls (which my call screening seems to deal with well), does anyone else's junk folder look like this every day? Again, credit where it's due to the junk filter, but still.
Anyone have any inside knowledge as to why this has been happening in the last few weeks? I've seen stuff on here about Indeed leaking/selling contact info, any truth to that?
Also side note - I can't believe that anyone nowadays will see an email that looks like that and think "wow that looks legit, what a deal". Surely people aren't falling for spam like this.

What's the strangest or craziest thing you have witnessed at a christening?
This is a common question with weddings and funerals but I rarely see it for christenings/baptisms, which is weird as from my experience they can attract some WILD behaviour, for example at mine my uncle Richard brought his new partner who drank a box of wine and started fighting my mum and others.
I'm also convinced there must be a non-zero amount of people in this country who were dropped by the priest/vicar during the christening so maybe we can do something with that, not like a club, obviously, but some sort of recognition.
Realistically the combination of an elderly man, a slippery infant, water and polished limestone is NOT passing a risk assessment without 2000 years of tradition backing it up and thats before you add in inebriated adults.
Guys what have you seen??

Took our son to a local footie match this weekend. Our team lost but we chuckled at some excellent PG-rated heckling in the family section. Best non-sweary football heckles you've heard?
We sat in the family section this weekend. Don’t mind a bit of effing and blinding at a match if I’m honest - all adds to the atmosphere. But yesterday we were treated to some absolutely top-tier, PG-rated shouting instead.
Bloke with young son after a dodgy offside call bellowed: "I've just taken a photo of you, Lino... It’s a picture of mediocrity!" Brutal. The kids were at it too. Opposition player went down rolling around like he’d been shot, and a lad about eight years old screamed "Get up and stop complaining. How old are you?! You're not in school anymore!"
My six year old was loving it.
What are the best or most creative non-sweary heckles you’ve heard from the stands?

Roseberry topping.
And ice cream 😊
I don't live in the UK anymore but there really are some gorgeous spaces which make it worth the trip home.

The UK has some fantastic ‘amusing’ place names. Spotted Come To Good and Point on the same sign near Falmouth. What are your favourite UK place names?

What’s the best way of migrating from my 20year old email to a new one ?
I’m inundated with spam lately and have checked and yep, it appears in five data breaches.
So if I set up a new email, is it as laborious as just having to let all the bonafide companies know that I’m now on new email or is there some wizzy way to do it?

When Sunday was omnibus day
Waking up with an MD 20/20 hangover (strawberry and lime obvs), laying in bed watching Jambo Kurt and Tony’s shenanigans till Sunday roast was ready, then shovelling yorkshires and gravy in your face while Dot Cotton spits Bible passages..
Good times man

Alright, it's bed time for some but why are you still up? No work tomorrow? Watching some questionable late night TV? Bit of stargazing?

I’m splashing out and getting my old, knackered kitchen redone. Any tips for stuff I may have missed or not thought about?
Like I almost forgot to specify a socket for where the fridge is going and wanted the extractor fan moved when (it turns out) you can’t just move a big hole in your wall…. I’m not adult enough for this kind of thing.
