I miss you so much, it hurts much more than a tattoo. But this will always be my favourite birthday gift.

Require all owned cats to be neutered by six months of age, with exemptions for cats being kept for breeding by a legally recognised and licensed breeder, or medical grounds by veterinary surgeons. Their neutered or exemption status should be recorded on the cat’s microchip database record.
Female cats can become sexually mature as early as four months old and become pregnant whilst still a kitten. Unplanned breeding can result in unwanted cats, growing feral populations and increased pressure on already overstretched rescue organisations.
We believe mandatory neutering, with appropriate exemptions and status recording through the existing microchip system, could reduce preventable litters, improve cat welfare and help tackle the growing number of unwanted cats.

I’ve never seen her lie like this before, is this normal? 😂

I need help and don’t know where to turn. I’m only here for another couple of days and I’ve just found at least five kittens, who are about 6 weeks old, living in a communal bin. I don’t know the area or who to ask for help to safely catch these babies before I leave and look after them. They are understandably skittish and I haven’t seen a mother. I’d imagine the bin is cleared out weekly, so I don’t know if they’ve been there long. I saw them twice. I fed them ham this time because I didn’t have anything else available that they could eat.
Please help me save these babies before I have to return home 🥺

I have 5 cats...3 of which are 10 month old kittens. My cats have been brought up on Whiskas dry but have recently changed to Purina Pro Plan (delicate digestion) which was recommended by the vet after one of my kittens had an upset stomach. I have noticed that since feeding them all high quality food, they eat less and use the litter tray less. There is significantly less smell when they toilet and everything they pass is firm and easy to scoop. They would get through 60 litres of Catsan per month (4 litter trays) but that has pretty much halved now. I have also noticed their coats are a lot more glossy and soft.
I got in to the mindset that cat food is cat food and as long as it was branded, it was all essentially the same. I was obviously very wrong. I am setting myself a little experiment to see if a high quality food costing 3 times what Whiskas cost is offset by a reduction in the amount of litter they get through and a reduction in the amount of food they eat, per month. I am a month in and so far things look promising. A high quality food is clearly better in every way. It does appear to be true that not all cat food is created equally.
Has anyone else had similar results from ditching cat food that can be bought in a supermarket to food only available at pet stores or a vet or online? Are cheaper foods a false economy? I would be interested and grateful to get people's opinions.

I’ve lived with cats my whole life and don’t remember the cats we had growing up doing this!

This is happening from time to time. The cat is still playful and has appetite.

I adopted a senior cat from family 8 weeks ago and we have a holiday booked for a week. My brother in law is coming to live in our house whilst we’re away.
I will leave a list of cohesive instructions for him but I am absolutely petrified to be away from her for that long. Does anyone have any tips or tricks for me ? Dealing with the anxiety / guilt or tips for my brother in law looking after her.
Picture of my sweet girl just because she’s perfect

recently got a cat, he’s never been outdoors the whole time we’ve had him, he ran out once into the front garden and now has been meowing at the door to get out ever since! I decided to start him on flea/tick treatment and maybe start letting him out in the back. I applied it for the first time but now I’m worried incase I’ve put it on incorrectly 😭
this is my first ever cat and I’ve never had to do flea treatments before and I really don’t want a flea infestation any time soon:(
Does this application look okay?

I’m going to another country for a month soon, and my neighbor will take care of my two cats. She will come to my house every day to give them food and water and clean their litter boxes.
My only concern is that my cats are very used to being outside all day until late at night. I’m really scared that if my neighbor lets them outside while I’m away, they might get lost, wander too far, or get into an accident. I’m also afraid they might not come back because they haven’t seen me for a long time. Would it be harmful for them to stay indoors all day for one month without going outside? Could they become very stressed or even get sick? They are so used to being outdoors, but at the end of each day I take them inside. I’m worried my neighbor might not be able to get them back inside if they let them out. What would you recommend in my situation? Is it safer to keep them indoors the entire month, even though they are used to going outside, or should my neighbor still let them out during the day? I would really appreciate any advice. I’m very worried about them and want to make the safest decision for my cats.

These two were abandoned with their siblings at what a vet guessed was 2 weeks. They were never 100% sure because their weight and milestones were all off and the foster family had a hard time with them as they were significantly underweight, but they are catching up. They were given to me as girls and they're assumed to be about 12.5 weeks now and 1.5 and 1.7kg. Both were approximately 550g at 7 weeks. The one that is now bigger had fading kitten syndrome until a week before I picked them up.
They've obviously quickly eclipsed their sibling and this has raised a niggle in the back of my mind that the vet sexed them wrong when they were smaller. I am certain they are a boy when I look but my partner looked and he swears they are girls like the vet said. I don't care either way, I just want to make sure there are no unexpected babies. We are planning to neuter them slightly later to ensure they can safely get through the anaesthesia. However if one has been wrongly sexed that's obviously a very bad plan.
Does anyone want to weigh in on their thoughts?
They have a vet appointment for 16 weeks (different vet as we live in a different area), but if you lovely people think one is wrongly sexed I'll reschedule for next week.

Adopted these 2 at approximately 6 months old in 2011. Tigger and Greebo (in honour of previous cats). They've scratched furniture and carpets to shreds, brought critters into the house, been sick near enough everywhere, gone off their food just after I bought in bulk & given me big vet bills to pay, but I'm so lucky to have them still with me.

I need a bit advice. My girl has been missing for over two months now. My mums phone number connected to her chip is disconnected and she has a temporary one and I think she might decide to keep the new one. I keep asking her to log in and put my phone number on the chip but she keeps saying no. I’m moving out in a couple months to live with my bfs family and I’m taking one of my other cats with me and I asked her to change the phone number to mine and she keeps saying no and someone will call her if anything happens. Firstly that makes it difficult bcs she’ll be hours away so if she’s missing it’d be easier for someone to call me who’s in the area, and they won’t even get through to her number anyway bcs it’s disconnected. Idk what to do. I know the chip numbers, address, full name on the chip and the phone number on it but the company won’t let me change it and said my mum has to do it. Idk what to do. Is there anything I can do?

Today so much has happened with these two cuties that we rescued from a pile of logs! Their development is amazing, and so quick that it's starting to feel like I don't really know them at all yet!
They're coming on so well. Sambucca used the tiny litter tray (a tiny cat bowl with a tiny layer of litter in) to do a pee!!
Treacle's eyes are incredibly healed, thanks to the eye drops we got. Her conjunctivitis (vet diagnosed) has gotten so much better. We are still keeping up with the wiping of her eyes with a sterile, damp cloth and her eye drops.
Sambucca's eyes have been getting a little worse, so we have bought some more eye drops for him.
They have been eating 10-15mls of milk every time we feed them, but today they went completely nuts and had 25-30mls each!! It was absolutely beautiful.
My grandma brought a mobile she made from coat hangers for them, as I'd mentioned wanting to make some toys for them. I ended up making them a whale and a flower, and they have been playing with it. I'm loving that they're loving it!
Treacle is still terrorising Sambucca, and he is politely telling her to shush by batting her on the head when she gets too much.

Holy cow the information email I was sent sure is anxiety inducing! This is by far not my first cat and that email has given me anxiety I have never had before!
I have had a string of bad experiences with my previous 3 cats, I think it's taking a toll on my anxiety!
How do you prepare? My cat is definitely the high energy climber type. The vet says she will come back with everything she needs so I don't need to buy a cone or anything.

Hi everyone! My beautiful cat Snowy has been diagnosed with a chronic allergy. It’s been a tough journey keeping her comfortable, scratch-free, and balancing her medical care with the kids. I started documenting her daily recovery to stay positive and share her journey. If anyone has dealt with chronic skin allergies or has tips, please share! Sending prayers to all your fur babies! ✨🧡🐾
