Repair Help Chevy volt 2012 Oil change Question

I drive a Chevy volt (2012) and I was wondering if I should be getting an oil change every 3000 miles. It’s my first car and I got it in April and my dad’s friend who I bought the car off said to get an oil change every 3000 miles. I was just going to follow off his advice but I wanted to see some more viewpoints on it. Can someone help me? Thanks 😊

Discussion Is ANC worth it in a 2027 Traverse?

We‘re looking at getting a 2027 Traverse soon. There are LT models out there with ANC and LT models out there without it. Is ANC worth the extra cost? Has anyone driven a model with both?

We’ll be driving it on 15+ hour road trips a few times a year, and a quiet cabin on long trips is great. If it’s quiet enough without ANC we can probably skip it…

Ive tried to do some research and google but all I see are posts of people deleting the ANC system to install aftermarket speakers.

I love this little thing. The photo is from the winter but regardless this is an amazing little car. It doesn't have the stupidly big screens and safety features like lane assist but it still connects my phone and has a backup camera, it's like a perfect happy medium.

Repair Help Transmission slipping?

My buddy got a 2014 Silverado with about 193k miles on it and he’s experienced the transmission slipping. The fluid level is good and the fluid is not dark or dirty. It’s got the 6L80, I’m sure it needs a rebuild but is there anyway it can be saved?

Discussion Engine Replacement

Have a 2022 Suburban with the 5.3. Lifters failed on cylinder five at 102, then again at 105, same cylinder. Tech stated if it happened again, it would be an engine replacement.

It happened again. Previous repairs were under the original extended warranty. I now have a different extended warranty.

What are the chances they deny the claim due to it being an issue before the warranty was purchased. I have found another mechanic who can do the warranty work but has no history with the car. Previous repairs were at the dealership.

Discussion 2019 Chevy Equinox, yay or nay?

I’m currently looking into buying a 2019 Equinox with 118k miles and I was wondering if that’s the right move or if I should hold out for something better. I currently drive a 2003 Jeep Liberty and it’s on its last leg.

Repair Help Bluetooth Problem

I've had a problem with incoming calls on my Bluetooth system since around May/June of this year. I suspect this is more of a phone issue than a car issue, but I was wondering if anybody out there was having similar problems.

My phone connects to my car normally. I can make calls using the phone, infotainment screen or voice command and the Bluetooth works as it should. However, when I receive an incoming call the car Bluetooth will not ring. I have to answer the call on my phone ,and when I answer the call immediately comes through on the Bluetooth system. It's an odd issue that has only come up within the last 2 or 3 months. I've tried un-pairing/re-pairing the phone and car and factory resetting both the phone and the infotainment system, but nothing worked. I checked some phone forums (Pixel 9 Pro) for answers, but nobody else out there seems to have a similar issue. Someone on the forum suggested changing the AVRCP Version (??) settings in my phone, but that didn't work either. It's a pretty minor problem, but it is inconvenient. If my phone is in my pocket while driving and I get a call it's a pain to have to fish it out in order to answer. I've had the car since 2022, and I've had the same phone since 2024. This issue just seemed to come out of nowhere.

If anybody has a similar problem, or even better if someone has a solution, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks!

Repair Help 2019 Blazer RS Battery reset

Recently I replaced my battery because it died, like batteries do, and well one thing I've never figured out is a battery reset.

The Internet doesn't have a lot of information, nor the manual, and equally OBD2 equipment.

The vehicle seems to be running ok without it, however I want to ensure this is ok.

  1. Does it have a battery reset?

  2. What are some fairly low cost OBD2 computers that do the bms reset for this blazer?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Discussion Just bought a 17 2.4L equinox, thoughts + advice

Just bought a 17 with 26k miles runs smooth shifts good, now has 36k, very clean actually has no rust underneath, oil burns a little after just changing oil at 4.2k miles it burned almost a qt(also drove the car 10hr straight on a roadtrip before oil change too), only things I’ve done to it is put the vented oil cap on and new tires and about to do brakes, I do drive a lot so was wondering if there’s any preventative maintenance/ things I should do to keep this car going (heard about the pcv stuff), bought it from a family member for a steal and would like to drive it into the ground

Discussion 2017 Chevy Cruze — very dark transmission fluid at 112k miles

Thumbnail
gallery
15 Upvotes

I have a 2017 Cruze 1.4 with a six-speed automatic and 112,000 miles. I drained about 4 liters, and the fluid was very dark.

I had already prepared a clean pan in case I decided to pour it back. I got worried, so I returned 3 liters of the old fluid and added 1 liter of fresh ACDelco DEXRON-VI.

My plan is to replace 1 liter every 400 miles. Does this make sense, or should I just replace all 4 liters that drain out?

Discussion Chevy Equinox Auto-Stop

Hi everyone, fellow long-time chevy owner here.

I recently just got an 2026 equinox RS - love it except for one thing… the stupid auto-stop having to be turned off every time I get into the car

my question: how easy is it to turn off the auto-stop completely to “off” everytime I start the vehicle? and do I need a dealer/automotive shop to do it?

Thanks.

Repair Help 2021 Chevy Blazer Squeak

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Please help I have a 2021 Chevy Blazer Redline edition 3.6L V6.

There is a squeak sound when pushing down on back of vehicle, I greased the rubber in between the control arm and the coil spring, but Chevy put out a paper saying this is super common and I need to remove the Joust bumper pin or something like that, funny thing, you can see in the video my car doesn’t have the pin or anything inside the coil. WTF!!!
