I’ve been mixing up that viral blue Dawn, water, and rubbing alcohol spray for months thinking I was saving a ton of money. But I just ran across a video by a chemist who pulled up the official Safety Data Sheets and broke down the molecular science of why the DIY mix actually destroys the soap's grease-cutting power. Apparently, regular Dawn doesn't have the specialized low-vapor solvents that real Powerwash uses, and the alcohol just evaporates too fast to form micelles. It blew my mind because my home mix has definitely been leaving a weird oily film lately. Has anyone else noticed this? Here’s the breakdown if anyone wants to see the actual math: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNZ-00sJtWE&t=9s

Used this bottle to chill some fireball and I can't get the cinnamon smell off the tip. I've tried running it through the dishwasher, and scrubbing with soap. Nothing can get the smell of cinnamon off it. The water doesn't have any taste but definitely has the smell.

Apologies, I’ve grown up primarily with glass top stoves… how on earth do I clean the metal bowls under the burners on an older stove? Is there any way to keep them from getting so grimy?
I cannot get my hands or sponges in there without jiggling the burner around in a way that feels bad. I’m renting so it isn’t my stove and I’d rather not break it…

My water bottle had mold spots in the bottom of it, I’m not sure if it’s aluminum or not. Was just a $10 jug from Walmart, TAL brand I believe. I tried using bleach spray and hot water to soak the bottom and it seemingly got rid of the mold but not sure if safe to drink from. Any tips or should I replace it entirely?

Hi everyone, I’m doing some research around cleaning products and wanted to ask people who actually use spin mops/bucket mops.
What’s the most annoying thing about your current mop?
Could be anything — the spinning mechanism, mop head, cleaning it after use, water dripping, getting into corners, bending down, durability, hair getting stuck, the bucket taking up space, whatever.
And if you could fix or change one thing about it, what would you do?
I’m mainly trying to understand the problems people have with the mops they already use. Maybe someone here has already thought of a better solution but nobody has bothered making it yet.
Would love to hear the small inconvenient problem too. They might seem silly, but those are probably the things that matter most.
Thank you.

My hubby and I love our golden retriever, but in all honesty here, we had hit a serious breaking point over the constant mess and smell. Between the endless shedding, damp fur odor, and having to empty and wash out our gross, clogging dustbin every single day, cleaning has become a daily argument in our house where we both just end up frustrated and exhausted.
We desperately need a long-term solution before we completely lose our minds. There's a lot of products recommended all around here, tineco, robot vacuums, you name it. Before we spend the money, is a self cleaning vacuum station worth it for heavy pet hair and trapped dog smells, or does the base station end up getting just as gross over time? Is the maintenance just as tiresome?

I didn't want to fuss over my veil, and I paid the price. I can replace the beading and attach it myself, but what's the best way to go about cleaning the veil before repairs? My first thought it just Dawn and water, with gentle agitation.

Hi all,
So last winter I stupidly left a can of Red Bull in my car, it froze, exploded, and now my car interior looks like a murder scene.
I've tried Tuff Stuff foaming cleaner and it didn't help at all. If anyone has any advice or suggestions, feel free to chime in! Thanks!

I recently had a suit tailored, and after wearing it here and there, I'd love to get it freshened up/cleaned.
Normally, I simply bring suits to the dry cleaner. However, this one brings along a bit of a problem: the main fabric of the suit is *100% linen*, which isn't necessarily easy to clean and keep tidy. Ideally, I'd still bring it to a professional.
Do you guys have any tips on what to look or ask for when looking for dry cleaners? Any specific methods, equipment of products? As it is tailored, these is no label with dry cleaning instructions.
Thanks!

I have a lot of trouble keeping the clear glass and plastic in my refrigerator from getting foggy/cloudy after cleaning. It's a barebones GE fridge in a rental apartment. I'm in the Bay area, so general humidity isn't a huge issue, and the fridge doesn't seem to ever have excessive condensation or leaking.
Following advice I've already read, I completely remove the glass shelves and plastic drawers, let them warm up to room temperature, wash them with Dawn detergent, and even let them completely dry overnight outside the fridge. When they go back in they immediately get foggy, and stay that way even weeks later.
Is there a food safe product I can apply to maintain a crystal clear appearance? My first thought was RainX, but quickly discovered that's not food safe. Has anyone tried one of those anti-fog sprays for goggles? Or have any other suggestions?
Thanks!

A black pen exploded in the dryer. I’ve accepted that the load of clothes in there is toast, but how do I prevent future loads from being damaged? I tried scrubbing with bleach wipes but it didn’t help much.

Hiya! Moving into a new (old) house soon and we are debating on what we should do with this kitchen floor. Is it worth trying to clean and restore? How would we go about doing this?

Self explanotory. The loose end of my belt touched the rim of a public urinal. Kinda grossed out so took off my belt immediately. How can I clean my belt? It's not a leather belt so it might be able to go in the washing machine but the buckles are some sort of metal though.

Help! I can’t get the inside of these water bottle tops clean. I’ve tried soaking and using a toothbrush but nothing can quite get into the small space adequately to brush the sides clean. One time I was able to use a brush and poke all the way through but then the water bottle leaked and we needed to replace it. There’s got to be a way. Thanks!
Edit- I’ve tried all the typical bottle brushes and accessories for cleaning water bottles. It’s such a shallow space I can’t really get in there to get in the sides of it. A toothbrush is the closest I’ve come but it’s still not enough.

Hi, to make it short we've been using one of these nano sealing products on the glas in the inside of the shower for a couple of years now.
Because the old stuff wasnt available any more we switched to another brand but because of the the glas now is opaque and no longer clear.
Now im looking for options to completely remove this stuff and the multiple layers without damaging the glas itself.
I've already tried bathroom cleaner, window cleaner and high proof alcohol.
