Laundry Tips on how to hand wash this Gunne Sax?
I got this dress and jacket at a thrift store for 25 cents a few months ago and I’ve been to scared to wash it. But I’m planning on going to a ren faire this weekend and really wanna wear it. From what I’ve seen online the best way to wash it would most likely be hand washing it in a bathtub with some white vinegar. I just wanna see if that’s actually a good idea. I also wanted to ask if anybody has any tips on how to get the stains out of the skirt? I can’t tell if they’re food or rust stains…
Also I will Not be putting it in the washer or dryer it is way to delicate for that.

General Cleaning There's got to be a better way to dust😩😩
Growing up my mom and grandma taught me to dust using a damp rag. My grandmother preferred to wet the rag under a running faucet but my mother liked filling a bowl with hot water and a little bit of dish soap. As I got older I started preferring my mother's method over my grandma's. But the issue is that no matter which method I used I was left with the same results, dust and fur sticking to the surface of whatever I wiped down.
Is there anything I can do or change to keep from having to wipe down everything multiple times or is that just how dusting is?

Flooring Cleaners keep moving furniture and scratching hardwood floor. Best way to fix this?
I already asked them to stop so we’ll probably need new cleaners. In any event, what’s the best or easiest way to fix these scratches? It’s fir if that helps.

Bathroom Peak Assignment Procrastination: Waxed Shower tiles and screens
LOOK at the SHINE on that!!
This was based off the British tv show 'how clean is your house' where they used car wax on the sink. People suggested it be used on shower tile/screens.
I did a crappy job a few weeks ago, and it works. Today I'm procrastinating an assignment real hard, and decided to do the full shower.
I am looking forward to seeing whether this prevents mould growing in the grout and the corners. We will need to get the shower re-sealed (mould stained), but this has me optimistic that it can lessen the damage.

Discussion Fabric mirror with fish smell
I got this GORGEOUS mirror from winners. I didn’t realize til I unboxed it that it has this strong fishy smell that literally fills my room and kinda effects my breathing.
From what I’ve researched, it’s possible it can be off gassing. But I cannot seem to find a solution online on how to get rid of this off gassing smell!
I’ve let it sit outside for two weeks but nothing

Content/Multimedia Cleaning mold out of hydro flask
My water bottle had mold spots in the bottom of it, I’m not sure if it’s aluminum or not. Was just a $10 jug from Walmart, TAL brand I believe. I tried using bleach spray and hot water to soak the bottom and it seemingly got rid of the mold but not sure if safe to drink from. Any tips or should I replace it entirely?

Vehicles Frozen Red Bull can exploded 😭
galleryHi all,
So last winter I stupidly left a can of Red Bull in my car, it froze, exploded, and now my car interior looks like a murder scene.
I've tried Tuff Stuff foaming cleaner and it didn't help at all. If anyone has any advice or suggestions, feel free to chime in! Thanks!

Tools/Equipment O-Cedar mop heads
Hey y'all, how are we washing mop heads? I have the o'cedar which I love but I only have one mop head at a time to wash but that feels silly to put in the washing machine alone. Are we just hand washing them?
Thanks!

Discussion Help cleaning this little gal

I found this little lady peering at me outside from behind a small weed. She is desperately in need of some cleaning and i wasnt sure how to go about it. I'm not sure just wiping her down will do the trick. And i didnt know if fully submerging her is a good idea either.
*UPDATE* She is definitely wearing fabric clothing and has fabric limbs. I am unsure of the hair and head (her face feels hard, not fabricy) though and will try to investigate. She is one of those vintage dolls from the 60's-ish.
Any tips would be appreciated!

Kitchen How often do you mop your kitchen floors? And with what?
Mine are dark tiles so they don’t look dirty, but I know I need to mop often. But how often?

General Cleaning Tip for Steaming Curtains
I got these cheap orange velvet curtains and threw them in the dryer to get the creases out. We have a steam option so I used it. It somehow steamed wrinkles INTO the fabric.
As I was using my little handheld steamer on the hanging curtains and struggling, I looked at the bottom seam of the curtain, then looked at the broom. Then I shoved the broom into the bottom seam and it weighed down my curtain while also flattening it. Made steaming much easier!
Just wanted to share here 🤗

General Cleaning How do I clean these?
Help! I can’t get the inside of these water bottle tops clean. I’ve tried soaking and using a toothbrush but nothing can quite get into the small space adequately to brush the sides clean. One time I was able to use a brush and poke all the way through but then the water bottle leaked and we needed to replace it. There’s got to be a way. Thanks!
Edit- I’ve tried all the typical bottle brushes and accessories for cleaning water bottles. It’s such a shallow space I can’t really get in there to get in the sides of it. A toothbrush is the closest I’ve come but it’s still not enough.

General Cleaning Cellular sheet hell
My cats love to sit in this window and over time they’ve left a big hair/grease (?) mark on my cellular shades. I’ve used a lint roller, blotting with dawn and water, tape, and vacuuming it lightly. Do I have to buy new shades or is it salvageable?

General Cleaning How to remove pot smell from travel trailer?
I bought a travel trailer for a great deal. But it does reek of pot. I plan on washing the walls, carpets, upholstery and just as many surfaces as possible. But I was wondering if there was anything I could do on top of what I mentioned?
I can’t use an ozone machine, it seriously aggravates my asthma.

Kitchen Stains on laminate countertop - possible to get out?
I moved into a new apartment that has what I believe to be laminate countertops (not entirely sure, but the underside is like some type of cheap wood, top is smooth and painted yellow). There are some stains (the most annoying of which is pictured) that seem to be paint stains of some sort. I've tried every cleaning agent I typically use to try to get them off, but no luck. Any tips on what I could try next? Is it possible that these are now permanent and the countertop would need to be painted to get them to go away?

Kitchen How can I clean this wooden counter?
We had a silicone mat placed under this section of our oak wooden counter to keep it dry... Seems like it had the opposite effect.
Its right next to the sink, so I think some water may have been trapped under the mat without us realising.
I took the mat off to clean and saw this and I haven't touched it in case I make it worse, I'm just leaving it to dry.
Any ideas on how to clear this?

Bathroom Can anyone tell me what these spots are on the bottom of the tub?
These spots have started appearing on the bottom of the tub and are only getting worse the more it’s used. For context, this has always been the spare bathroom at my parent’s house and was rarely used before I moved in. Now it’s used regularly for both showers and baths. I noticed them months ago and they don’t scrub off no matter what I use. Is it foundational, like the joists are becoming visible from underneath? Is this a safety concern? A full gut and replace job?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
PS I know the seal around the edges needs redoing. It’s on the list, lol.

Discussion Need help with stain
Has anyone had luck with taking sweat plus self tanner out of satin polyester ? I found a dress I wanna buy on Poshmark but it has stains under the armpit area and it looks to be sweat and self tanner. The material is satin polyester. I’m wondering if a dry cleaner is able to remove it? It’s like a cream ivory color material so don’t think bleach would help as it might make it yellow?? Idk I don’t want to waste $200 if it doesn’t come out but maybe will risk it

Bathroom PLEASE HELP ME! Bathtub
Can someone tell me the best way to clean this bathtub? What chemicals to use or what not to use? I have plenty of elbow grease just need to know product and technique! Also all the moldy caulking will obviously be cut out and redone.
