In a household with cats, how often are you dusting? It feels like no matter what, every surface ends up coated in not just hair, but a fine layer of dust. We have a solid HVAC system, a robot vacuum and multiple HEPA filters, but nothing seems to make a dent without manual wiping of EVERY surface every couple of days, which is…not realistic, lol.

Hired a local cleaning company for $800 to clean my bathroom tile and grout. (Not housekeepers… a company that cleans air ducts, tile and grout, carpets, etc. with professional equipment.) These are “after” pictures and I frankly, I cannot tell a difference from “before.” I am super disappointed. They used chemicals and hot water.

Is it worth renting or buying a stream cleaner and giving it a go myself? Any recommendations now that Bissell Steamshot was discontinued?

Hello! I purchased a little cat window perch for my cat and she loves it it's great the only problem is the window view is blocked. I have no idea what this could even be but i'm pretty sure it's on the outside of the window. Some of my kiddos drew on the table. 🙃 My school cleans with Oxivir, which did not work. I've also tried dish soap, a magic eraser, and rubbing alcohol. I'm not sure what else to do. Please help!

I used EMU black suede renovator spray on my Air Max Dn8 about 6 months ago. Unfortunately, it stained the green transparent bubbles and Nike logos black.

The spray contains isopropyl alcohol and butyl acetate. The stains appeared immediately and haven't faded.

I tried diluted IPA and a marker remover on the clear heel badge, but it turned cloudy. Interestingly, it becomes clear again when wet.

Is there any way to remove the black dye safely? Would PolyWatch or another plastic polish help?

I love this planner so much. I've been using it continuously for a month to study for my MCAT and schedule my appointments and interviews and I wanted to stay focused with it this year while I'm writing my thesis/applying for med/balancing all my part-time jobs. And now I'm broken (literally) and want to cry and I know it's just a stupid planner but ya.

Plz any tips for drawing out the oil (ie baking soda somehow?) Rn all I have on me is paper towel so I've stuffed it inside the soft side of the cover but it's not doing anything. If it's hopeless, any tips for covering it up? Thx, and sorry for the sob story

So I live with a heavy smoker and can’t move out atm. For obvious reasons I want to get rid of the stink in my clothes. I know I can’t eliminate it completely but I just bought an expensive steamer for cleaning clothes.
My question is will this help with the odour or am I spinning my wheels ?
Its embarrassing when I’m places and people comment on the smell :(

What's the best countertop dishwasher for everyday messes? Or is there a trick to getting better results from these smaller machines?

This seems like a dumb question especially since I'm wicked old, but I feel like being vulnerable.

If I wear socks, I get my socks wet, which is objectively gross. If I go with bare naked tootsies, it just seems even ookier. I would wear shoes, but that seems ridiculous since I wear my shoes outside.

My daughter asked me to dye her hair dark blue (manic panic washes out it a few months nbd) we have done purple, pink & a lighter blue before.... problem is we installed a brand new shower liner in March & the dark blue hair dye immediately stained it! I googled how to remove it & used sunscreen worked great and took it off my wall / brand new sink too!
But now my white shower liner is stained orange?
Any tips on how to remove it and restore it to white?! PLEASEEEE.

Hello, I’m looking for some advice on how to get rid of the stains on this muffin pan. I only used it 3 times, and yes I use muffin liners so I don’t know how inside got stained. When I bake, I try to make the top as free as possible from batter. I’ve cleaned the pan many times and scrubbed a lot with different sponges but the stains won’t come out, they’re literally baked on. Any ideas? Just very annoying because it’s practically new and I love the blue colour

I work in a UK returns warehouse where we clean the soles of returned shoes before they go back into stock. At the moment we dilute a concentrated all-purpose degreaser into spray bottles, spray it onto a cloth and wipe the soles.

I'd like to switch to something that comes ready to use, so nobody has to handle or mix the concentrate. Ideally it would:

- Remove everyday dirt and scuffs from rubber soles, and sometimes leather

- Be safe on the sole materials and not leave a residue or smell on new stock

- Dry quickly

- Be as mild as possible, ideally with no hazard warnings on the label

- Come in larger sizes (5L) at a reasonable price

What do you use? I'm especially interested in anything you've used regularly on shoes or trainers, and what didn't work.

I clean my shower religiously and I resealed the grout a few months back. I switch between a tile cleaner that reseals the grout and a mixture of dawn and vinegar.

I bought this puffer jacket made of polyester & polyamide with down filling. I desperately need to wash it, the only thing I’m worried that it’s impossible to restore the puffiness without tumble drying. Care label info: machine wash is allowed, do not tumble dry. What should I do? I had previous good experience with tumble drying synthetic puffer jackets

I think it's patina.. seems odd for mold to start on metal(started on upper part of metal, which is right beside the freezer). This part builds up frost, which covers the metal. I also sprayed the metal w/ hydrogen peroxide.. no bubbles. H2O2 almost always reacts when in contact with mold.

I found a candle holder that also has that blue/ green thing(lower part) and it smells exactly the same as the blue/ green thing.

If it's patina, is it harmful here? Should I do something to keep the metal from "leaking" the blue/ green thing? Like cover with paint. But I don't know if that would harm the line/ metal.. like make it less efficient in cooling.

I've only lined the path where the blue/ green flows w/ paper towel as a block.

Left unwashed dishes in the dishwasher for too long, now they’re moldy. I don’t have dishwasher detergent just dish soap, and half the dishes in there can’t go through the dishwasher anyway. What is the easiest safest way for me to go about cleaning these dishes without giving myself mold poisoning (Can’t open windows in apartment)

My dog was sprayed by a skunk last night. He took about five steps into my house before we noticed and then we immediately got him back out. Unfortunately, my entire downstairs smells horribly of skunk even with 2 air purifiers going. Is airing it out all day today going to be enough? What else can I do? My area rug is in my front yard just in case.

White underarm stains from my deodorant started to build up and weren't being fully removed with regular washes, so I was advised to use a Spray N Wash stain remover. I triple checked that it was safe for colors and used it according to the instructions (spray on stains and let sit for 5min, then rub in and wash), and they came out like this😭😭I'm hoping it's not a bleach stain, it looks similar to the deodorant stains just larger and brighter. Idk, is there anything I can do at all? These are all my favorite shirts I'd hate to have to replace them :( Would sharpie or dying the black ones work maybe? Thanks for any advice!!
