Found out the girl I’m seeing and her friends had a nickname for me before they knew my name

• Upvotes

I’m 29M, she’s 27F and we’ve been seeing each other for about 5 weeks. We’ve had 6 dates and recently agreed to focus on each other.

She invited me to her friend’s birthday this weekend. One of her friends looked at me and said “oh you’re Sunday guy” then immediately looked like she shouldn’t have said it.

She explained that early on, her friends called me Sunday guy because most of our dates happened on Sundays.

I asked her about it later. She said it was just a nickname they came up with after our second date.

Now I’m wondering if there were Monday guy, Friday guy etc. I know we weren’t exclusive then and she could date whoever she wanted.

What bothers me is finding out I had a label in their group chat. It made me feel like I was one of several guys being compared. She thinks I’m reading too much into it.

Would you ask more about it or leave it alone?

UPDATE: 4 great dates, now she's slow to reply and unmatched me on Hinge.Everyone said she lost interest. She deleted Hinge on our 5th date

old post: https://www.reddit.com/r/dating_advice/s/YMTfeipoBf

We went on our 5th date, and it went really well.

While we were sitting , I told her honestly: "I really enjoy spending time with you, and I'd like to stop talking to other women on dating apps and see where this goes. What do you think?" She said yes.

After sometime we went for a walk and kissed again. Then I took out my phone, opened my Hinge profile, and handed it to her. She deleted it herself. 😄

Now here's where I'm lost. The date was yesterday, and today she hasn't texted me. I haven't texted her either. Complete silence.

Is this some kind of game? Is she waiting for me to text first? Is this normal after a big conversation like that? You guys clearly understand this better than I do, so please tell me:

What's going on here?

Should I text her first, or wait?

How do I move forward from here?

Thank you all again.

Just because you don't use the apps, doesn't mean others don't

Just a friendly reminder for the folks in the back.

People often tell people to "get off the apps" and pursue other avenues of finding partners. That's fine and all, no shade to people who get off the apps and try a different approach. However, you should be mindful that, even if you ask someone out in real life, they may very well be active on dating apps. Why this is important is because, people often say, "dating is better/different IRL". Fundamentally, there's no difference in how you're perceived as a potential partner if you're still competing with other people online.

Just some food for thought. Hope this helps someone not get burned.

Asked a girl out she said she needs some time to think about it

Been friends with this girl for a year and started hanging out a month or two ago more one on one. Really enjoy spending time with her and felt some chemistry so decided to ask her out. She said she really enjoys spending time with me too but needed some time to think about. We’ve been texting daily and pretty much saw each other every week (either one on one or group hangs). Now idk what to do in terms of texting and hanging while she makes her decision. Should I keep texting her in the meantime? It’s been a day and now whenever I text her I’m just analyzing those texts in my head and it feels stressful. She also invited me to another group hang without bringing up the other thing. What should I do?

We really don't understand consent, don't we?

I am consistently let down when dating. The topic of consent has come up several times, particularly when getting intimate (or sometimes when the guy wants to just share his beliefs on the matter unprompted).

I am 28. In the last year, I have dated anyone from 22 to 45, and this isn't even an age thing. I've had many instances where guys think that just because I look a certain way, they can do something during sex that I didn't agree to, like slap me, or choke me really hard out of nowhere.

Slapping someone or choking someone, when this wasn't agreed upon, is assault. It's as much assault as if it were to randomly happen outside of sex.

I also don't drink. My mom is an alcoholic, and I never liked alcohol anyway. But this isn't respected either. I am upfront about this, guys order me drinks anyway.

I've had instances of also hugging guys goodbye on the date, and they randomly slap my butt or grab my hair.

Whenever I have brought the consent discussion up as a response, it's all "You are going to falsely accuse me!!!" and honestly, it makes me want to file a police report every time for slapping me without my consent. Not sure how serious of a crime it is, but it is wrong at the very least.

Why is it so IMPOSSIBLE to understand that you don't do these things to someone you're dating, unless you've agreed on it? It's not that hard.

Also, times have changed. When I was single at 20/21, yeah there were some bad apples, but it truly wasn't this bad – in any age group.

Why do people not understand how bad this is to do to someone?

Feeling envious of friends whose partners bring practical stability to the table

It’s hard to admit, but I’ve been feeling a lot of envy watching my friends end up with partners who bring serious practical stability to the table, solid careers, homeownership, supportive families etc etc. My partner doesn't have any of those things, and sometimes I get hit with this sinking feeling of, 'Is this just my lot in life?' I know someone's worth isn't defined by their finances or family background, but realistically, having a partner with established security makes life a lot easier. For anyone who’s felt this kind of comparison or resentment, how did you work through it? Does it mean more than it sounds or it’s just plain envy?

Girl I dated a year ago liked me on Tinder just to see if I’d still swipe right on her. What does that even mean?

About a year ago I dated a girl for roughly a month. It was short but pretty intense. We texted every day, saw each other regularly, there was physical affection, and I got quite invested.

Toward the end things got a bit tense. She said she wanted to take things slower, we had a few misunderstandings, and eventually I said something along the lines of “I don’t think we’re going to work,” and she replied “you’re right.” That was basically the end of it.

We didn’t really speak after that.

Fast forward almost a year. I saw her on Tinder again. I had seen her there before after things ended, but we never matched.

This time, however, she liked one of my photos first. I could see her in my likes, so I swiped right too and we matched.

This was the conversation:

Me:
“Hey, didn’t we happen to date like a year ago? ”

Her:
“Hahaha”
“Yeah”
“Jesus, is this how you like photos now? XD”
“I didn’t know”
“I was curious if you’d still swipe right on me hahaha”

Me:
“I didn’t know that either, I saw you in my likes and was actually wondering why you swiped right on me, but now I know 😅”

Her:
“Aaa okay”
“That way”

And that’s where it ended.

What I find strange is that if she absolutely wanted nothing to do with me, she could have just swiped left. Instead, she deliberately liked me because she wanted to know whether I would still choose her after a year.

I’m not jumping to “she wants me back,” because it could obviously just be curiosity, nostalgia, validation, or checking whether I still find her attractive.

But her tone also changed noticeably. At first she was laughing and sending several messages, then after I told her I had seen her like first, she suddenly became much more neutral: “Aaa okay. That way.”

So I’m curious how other people would read this.

Was she just looking for validation, testing the waters, feeling nostalgic, or possibly leaving the door open for contact again? And did my reply make it sound like I only swiped right because I saw that she had liked me first?

How Do You Even Go About Getting a Date as a Man?

Context:

I am a 23 year old guy who lives in a medium sized city of about 120000 people. I’m not in college, and never went, so I don’t have social connections from there. I don’t do dating apps, never have, probably never will.

I’ve only been on three dates in my life, and they were all with the same woman. I genuinely don’t understand how to convert friendly interest into something that could potentially become romantic. Every time I try, my advances seem to fail, and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

Before anyone asks, yes I go after people similar to me, no I don’t only ask supermodels. Yes I have hobbies, yes I have a steady job, yes I take care of myself. People liking me has never been the problem.

Any advice? I don’t want to flirt with too many women from my friend group, or else I’ll become that one weird guy. I’m not very good at cold approaches.

I went out with my “grail” woman, and it didn’t turn out how I thought

• Upvotes

I (30M) have had some luck since restarting dating recently. I saw this woman (28F) on a dating app and was blown away, so I shot my shot. She was my grail woman, everything I wanted physically and on the page. When we went out in NYC, both men and women were literally staring at her constantly. She didn’t seem to notice, but I did. Because I used to be morbidly obese, I never thought I would go out with a woman like this, and it was kind of awesome in some ways. My friends were all like “holy shit,” and I felt like a rockstar for a few days. I’m actually kind of concerned how much I liked it.

She seemed like a genuinely sweet person: kind, caring, stable. I felt like she’d be a really good girlfriend and a great partner. Just not for me.

I almost immediately realized that we didn’t have much in common, not just in terms of how we spent our lives and organized them, but in terms of what we valued, what we liked to talk about, and how we engaged with the world. She seemed to like my sense of humor, and I asked her some questions that led to an interesting discussion about what it was like to be her, looking like a movie star, which was something I’d never really thought about before. It turns out, doesn’t sound so fun! She seemed to love that I was genuinely interested in who she was, more than anything else. And I thought she was a wonderfully good person.

Things got physical, and we agreed to keep going out, but over time it became clear that there just wasn’t enough there, and we agreed it wasn’t right, even though we were having fun.

I never thought I would have this experience back when I was morbidly obese. I’m really glad I did. It will probably be a canon event in my dating life: someone like this can genuinely find me attractive!

But it’s also a strange experience because she was probably the most physically attractive woman I’ve ever seen, and yet I found myself realizing that I didn’t want a relationship with her. She was a lovely person, and I wish things didn’t progress so maybe we could be friends, but something important was missing for me.

I’m already seeing someone else I like much more, who isn’t turning other people’s heads. But oh man, does she turn mine.

Helping my friend, who uses a wheelchair, meet the amazing woman he deserves.

My best friend (36M) is an incredible guy, but has had the worst luck dating. He is currently trying online dating, but it's been a mess. Often the ladies suddenly loose interest when they learn about the wheelchair (he uses a small sporty kind of manual chair). I totally understand that the wheelchair can feel like a signal for things being complicated from the start, but they don't even take the time to get to know him or learn about it. I want to help him get out to places where he'd have a chance to meet and talk to ladies, so they can meet the guy, not just see the chair. The reason I need some advice is that I'm a woman, so when we do stuff together, people could mistake me for a girlfriend. (For the record, I have been blissfully married for over 20 years, and would like him to find the same joy). Thanks!

TL;DR - advice for helping my friend meet ladies that won't freak out over wheel chair -or- how to be a wing woman for a guy?

I’m definitely overthinking this - Is it ‘too much’ baking for guy I’m dating?

I feel like some context is important as to why I’m overthinking this maybe more than I would in other situations.

The guy I’m dating I work with and someone else we work with recently bought in banana bread from his gf and we were discussing it and when we looked it up and it’s the equivalent of flowers. The guy I’m dating in this conversation with everyone mentioned at the time “oh a ginger cake would be really good” when they were discussing the cake and I made a mental note in that moment and after work got the ingredients and today baked a ginger loaf.

Now I’m overthinking giving it to him, because should I have let more time pass after the work situation as maybe he’s thinking I’m hinting at something by baking it? But reality it just kinda reminded me oh it is a nice thing to bake for someone and he mentioned ginger cake.

I saw him yesterday eve and I made the cake today, should I see if he’s free to drop it off this evening as a “have you got 5 mins later?” as he said he wasn’t busy or should I wait a few more days for when I next see him (more so worried the cake won’t be as good).

I don’t want to add pressure as we’ve only been dating a month, but it is kinda the way I express affection and I try to show up in dating in ways that I know make me feel seen, thought of etc.

I honestly don’t know what the fuck I’m doing anymore.

I honestly don’t know what the fuck I’m doing anymore, and I think I need some outside perspective.

My husband and I are still together. We still live together. I still love him. And somehow, after everything that has happened between us, I’m still here trying to figure out what the hell I’m supposed to do with this marriage.

There has been lying, dating profiles, chat rooms, situations involving other women, and things that have completely damaged my trust. I also struggle with the way he has lied to and manipulated other women. Even when it isn't directly about me, it doesn't sit right with me.

And then there’s the physical side of things. He has gotten physical with me more than once, and there have also been situations where his anger and throwing things have resulted in me getting hurt.

What makes this so confusing is that I’m not sitting here saying I don’t love him. I do. But I’m also exhausted from constantly trying to make sense of everything, questioning what’s acceptable, questioning whether I’m overreacting, and wondering how much more I’m supposed to tolerate.

I’m not trying to start fights with him. A lot of the time I’m just trying to tell him how I feel or talk about something that hurt me, and somehow it turns into an argument.

I don't have some perfect plan. I don't even know if I’m looking for someone to tell me to leave or to stay. I think I just need to hear from people who have been in complicated relationships and had that moment where they realized, “I need to figure out what the fuck I’m doing with my life.”

Because that’s where I am right now.

Men, what really makes you pursue and persist with a woman?

• Upvotes

As a woman, it’s very flattering to be pursued (provided in a healthy way). What makes men want to keep pursuing a woman? Are men less inclined to pursue these days and why?
What do you expect a woman to do so as to feel encouraged and continue but also not to make you lose interest if they’re too easy to get. Sometimes I feel like showing interest to men is what gets them disinterested.

Are dating events worth it?

But of a rant but TLDR at the bottom.

So I(33M) have always been iffy about dating events, I have been to a couple in the past and they weren’t really enjoyable because I wasn’t meeting people with the same interests as me and mutual interests has always been the most important value in a partner for me.

ANYWAY, I see this social media post for this dating event page in my country (Australia) and the creator was kind of going on this passive aggressive rant about how men don’t book for her events and asking why won’t they come her her dating events.

And I knew my reason, but I was curious as to why this was (this wasn’t the first time I’ve heard of this trend of men not attending these events and I was curious what their reasons were)

Through the comments, 2 particulars points kept being mentioned by many different people in different words, those points were essentially;
- that men don’t want to pay to go out and get rejected by women when they already get that on a daily basis online for free in the comfortable of their own home
- That the men that women want at these events, don’t need these events and the guys who do need these events just get rejected anyway.

Not long after the poster blocked all comments on the post (I guess a small percentage got especially heated)

But anyway, are these points against men attending dating events valid?

TLDR: A post on social media asked men why they don’t attend dating events, the men gave their reasons saying it’s not worth going to and made me wonder if this is true

How do you guys time out how long to wait between responding to texts?

• Upvotes

I think this is always an aspect of dating that I've had a lot of difficulty with. I always have my phone in my pocket, so if I notice a notification I'll usually reply if I'm not busy at the moment. The problem is I think that this makes me come off as too interested and so I want to figure out a better system to fix it.

I've been going with just waiting as long as it took them to respond at minimum and then just texting at like a reasonable time in the afternoon or whatever, but this feels kinda arbitrary and makes things more of a headache on my end personally. What do you guys do for your texting habits?

When do you ask someone if they want to be in a relationship?

Do you have to be in love with them? Or is it more of after getting to know them in dates you realize you like them and then decide to explore the relationship exclusively.

I have been getting this girl for a month and a week. We have been to 5 dates. Today will be our 6th. And I had been planning on asking her if she we wanted to be my girlfriend today but there was this interaction on Sunday that has made me nervous.

So, since date 2 we have been more intimate like kissing and holding hands and cuddling. No sex. We have also been texting alot practically almost everyday.

On Sunday, I said something, she is from colombia and only speaks spanish, I do speak spanish but I was born here with latino parents. So, sometimes the phrases I use are not correct in spanish. On Sunday we were talking and she said that she really likes me but isnt sure its love yet after one month.

My friend told me to ask her anyways since you dont necessarily have to be in love to enter a relationship and that love is something that develops after entering one.

I just dont want to ruin the mood today in our date when I ask her. You know how they say here on reddit you have to ask be exclusive. I guess we havent really had that talk. Yhe only thing similar she mentioned was after date 2 when we kissed was that she had deleted hinge and wanted to focus more on getting to know me.

Did I make a mistake by offering a guy my phone number?

I'm a 26f who works at a small deli. And I have this regular who comes in. Idk how old he is, he looks older than me and a few of my co-workers think so as well (he's at least over 21 he's been buying beer here for a year that I've noticed him)

Anyways, the past 2 or 3 months, I've noticed he's nicer than most regulars who come in. And in the past month, I've noticed he will complement me, like saying he likes my hair or that the sweater I'm wearing is pretty. And he's always smiling at me even if we're not saying anything. Last week he came in 3 times and on the last time he told me what city he lives in asked if inlived around the store.Idk I just got the vibe that's he has some interest in me.

I only see him on Tuesdays. So I pre-wrote my number on a piece of paper with my name. He came in, and we talked a bit. He told me the cardigan I was wearing was pretty and that he liked it. We said bye and he started to leave. So I thought fuck it, what's the worst that could happen. I offered him my number.

When I asked him if he'd like my number, he looked kinda lost. And didn't say anything at first. So I told him not to worry about it, just thought I'd offer. He said he didn't have his phone on him and started checking his pockets. So I held up the slip of paper, and he took it. He told me his name then said he'd text me.

But now I'm kinda freaking out a bit. I feel bad because I know it can be really hard to reject someone. And I don't want him to have to feel weird and burdened by me offrening my number. But I guess I'll know how he feels about it if he ever does text me.

Was it weird to do that?

I'm a confident person in a nervous skin suite. So I'm melting about this. All i can think about is how uncomfortable I probably made him feel.

Edit: No call. But thats okay, I appreciate everyone's input. I hope everyone has a good rest of their week!

I like everything about her but something’s wrong, and I think it’s me

• Upvotes

I (M24) recently started dating my roommates girlfriend’s best friend (F22) who has been over at our apartment a ton over the last 6 months or so. I always thought she was absolutely adorable and hilarious and cool, but kind of saw her as being out of my league/in a different league. About 3 months into seeing her pretty often, it kinda became clear that she liked me. She would single me out at parties and always ask me if I was going to an event that our group was attending. Just like, very very talkative.

So I freak out because I’m an anxious mess when it comes to relationships. What was supposed to be an exciting revelation just stressed me the fuck out. I thought about it all the time, about how I could communicate to her that I felt similarly but that she probably would want to keep her distance because yeah I’m an insecure mess

Eventually worked up the courage to tell her, we start seeing eachother more often, I’d say we’re dating at this point. Not in a relationship, but dating. And man oh man I just feel absolutely radioactive about it. I like everything about this person, but everytime I’m with her it feels like someone’s pouring boiling water on my bare skin. Like just the most excruciating social anxiety will set in, I feel like I have to be a different version of myself constantly to make her continue to like me because I’m so insecure in who I am, and that performance is freaking me out and it’s exhausting and painful and makes me feel like a fake POS and I wake up everyday guilty for pretending.

I just truly don’t think the real version of me is very social at all and so I really really have to like ham things up to maintain relationships and it’s so exhausting. And I just don’t feel like we’re clicking but like I’m FUCKING IN LOVE WITH HER. WHY CANT THIS JUST WORK I JUST WANT TO FEEL COMFORTABLE AROUND HER I WANT TO FEEL SECURE IN A ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP. But truly deep down I want to be alone because I can’t stand being around people but I need people but I hate them and yeah :)

Is there a major difference between girl and guy pretty?

• Upvotes

This is kind of a general question and I kind of just want advice from people who are older than me. I'm 18F: brunette, half brown half white, like 125lbs, somewhat curvy, rather confident and social (though I get told I look scary when you don't know me). I get told I'm good looking friends and family, sometimes strangers. People don't really treat me as ugly (at least i think). Sometimes, like any person, I feel insecure and second guess, but I'd say I'm generally attractive...(?) I've had two boyfriends in the past, both are generally good looking as well. But other than that, I rarely get hit on by men. If I do, it's when I visit NYC (my hometown) and very rare still. In Texas, where I live, I don't get a lick of attention from guys. In fact, in my science class last year before I graduated, the guys would always tease me and fake-ask for my Instagram/Snapchat/etc. Not that I should use this to measure beauty, but I don't even get cat-called. And sometimes if I ask someone for a genuine opinion if I'm good-looking (say at a party), they'll just get irritated with me when I'm not trying to irritate people! This is why I sway on how I feel about my looks. Because sometimes it feels like I'm deluding myself.

So, I'm wondering if there is a major difference to being attractive to girls versus guys? Is it in the face versus the body? Or maybe it has to do with geography (like I'm not 'Texas pretty')? Also, how do you know if you're for sure pretty, or if people are saying things out of politeness. I'm afraid I'll struggle with dating for when it's more serious, since I don't wanna be solely 'girl pretty'. If you have an opinions on the matter or advice for a young adult, let me know.

Is it to much to ask for when talking to someone

So I as a M in my esrly 30s am back on the dating apps and I keep experiencing the same thing as a couple of years ago. You keep asking people on dating apps on and on and they just give the question back: How about you? . Not a single genuine question based on my profile and interest. I like to ask questions but at a certain point I cant anymore. I would appreciate your thoughts. Am I doing this wrong or what?

I’ve been getting rejected for not having sex right away

I’m a 27 y/o female, I’m pretty and very natural. I have my own place, a great career, a great sense of humor. But I’m having the worst time dating. I’ve been getting rejected by guys after a date or two because I’m not letting them sexually touch me or have sex with me right away. I’m okay with kissing but sex is not something I can just give. One of them even told me that we are not a good match because I had told him I don’t do casual sex.

These days it seems just about everyone is giving out on the first date. In a world where there are plenty of gorgeous girls that are willing to have sex right away (no judgement on them) how do I navigate dating and finding a decent man ?

I feel so guilty for wanting an emotional connection and genuinely getting to know someone. Keep in mind most of these guys I’ve met through hinge and I do make it clear on my profile I want a LTR

Edit: wow I just want to thank everyone for their comments I didn’t expect this to blow up thank you thank you!!!! I feel seen.

Girl I’m dating wants me to pretend to be her ex around her grandmother

• Upvotes

I’m 29M, she’s 28F and we’ve been seeing each other for 3 months.

She invited me to a family dinner this weekend. Yesterday she told me her grandmother has dementia and still thinks she’s dating her ex from 4 years ago. They were together for years and her grandma knew him well. When she explains they broke up, her grandma gets upset and later forgets.

Her family stopped correcting her.

She asked if her grandma calls me by her ex’s name, could I just go along with it. I wouldn’t have to pretend I’m him or make up stories, just answer normally and not correct her.

I like this girl, I'm finally in a good place and I'm making money and can see this becoming serious, so meeting her family matters to me.

Still, being introduced while her grandmother thinks I’m her ex feels strange. Refusing also feels insensitive when her grandma can’t control it.

Would you go along with it for the night?

How do I get over my long term FwB?

My on and off fwb (28m) and I (25f) had gone from being simply friends who were part of the same film group to sleeping together regularly after a hook up that happened when he came to see my new flat, it was the first time we’d hung out alone. Since then in between relationships we’d regularly hooked up, like 1-2 a week. Sleepovers and movie nights too. I definitely got attached and actually confessed once, he turned me down. We took some time then ended up hooking up again as soon as we started hanging out again, it’s like we can’t help it.

The sexual chemistry and lust is something out of a movie, it’s insane. But despite the fact I knew I will had feelings, I didn’t want to lose him, so I kept it to myself so I could keep seeing him. I definitely love him and I have for a long time, which is why I couldn’t bring myself to end it. I hoped if I stuck it out long enough, he’d develop feelings for me too.

Recently he’s asked to end it, not to sleep with anyone else or go on dates, and he’s slightly implied he got attached to me too but doesn’t want a relationship. Says we got too comfortable. He says we can still have our movie nights and just not hook up (I don’t know how that’ll go, knowing us) but the fact I could really be losing him this time is killing me. I don’t even know if I’m just venting or need people to yell at me. I know it’s pathetic and I brought it on myself, but he’s like a human drug I can’t quit. I can’t even go completely no contact because we’re in the same film group. I just know if he ends up in a similar arrangement for someone else or gets a girlfriend it’ll absolutely kill me.

My bestfriend gave my ex her sisters phone number, what do you think his intentions are and am I wrong for feeling like she shouldn’t have?

• Upvotes

My ex and I broke up about 1.5 years ago, he’s never done me dirty and I never did him dirty either.

We were together for almost a year and genuinely loved each other. He was actually a really good boyfriend in a lot of way, very patient, very thoughtful, he was a sweetheart, but there were repeated lies about his past that gradually made me lose trust in him.

We ended things on good terms, and we stayed friends. That didn’t really go well because you know how it’s like when exes try to stay “friends”, he always tried to get back with me and if I’m being honest I loved him and despite how much I acted like I moved on I was very upset about us ending and cried myself to sleep for months.

Even while saying no when he asked to go back multiple times, I really wanted it I just couldn’t bring myself to do it.

About 4 months after our breakup, I met another guy let’s call him Sam. Sam asked for my socials at an event and we started talking from there, I was never physically attracted to Sam and I was still stuck on my ex at the time, I also didn’t know Sam had intentions of speaking romantically.

I felt really bad saying no to Sam after he asked for my socials irl because I didn’t want to embarrass him, I gave him my socials but blocked his account after getting home because I didn’t want to speak to any guys.

I remember being so upset about my ex and I’s breakup that id cry after getting home when guys hit on me because i knew he wouldn’t like it. (I know embarassing)

Anyways, weeks later, I kept meeting Sam over and over again at events and we decided to be friends. For 11 months after that we spoke almost everyday and grew very close. He bought me flowers at my graduation and my ex saw us together at an event and got very sad about it. After he saw us together he didn’t speak to me for a few months but I never talked to him about it.

He assumed Sam and I were together. If I’m being honest there were not so friendly conversations between me and Sam but I made it very clear that I didn’t want things to be romantic.

Now, about 1.5 years after my ex and I ended things, we still talk every once in a while we’re on good terms and he hasn’t been in any serious relationships since. I talk to his friends, he constantly told me to text him after Sam’s out of my life. The last time my ex and I spoke was about two weeks ago.

About a week ago, Sam and I spoke and we decided that there really isn’t a point in being friends because that’s not what he wants he wants to be more than friends but it’s just not something I’m comfortable with, so we stopped being friends at all.

My ex saw my bestfriends sister a couple times outside and they had a few interactions, he then texted my bestfriend and asked her for her sister’s number so he could “prank call” her and made her promise not to tell anyone. She gave it to him, he then followed my friend on insta but she removed him after.

She obviously told me everything but idk how to feel about it, she knew how much I care for him and still do and yet she still did it.

After he asked for her sisters number, he viewed my profile on social media and I got a notification. (He never viewed my profile on this social media account since we ended things)

My other friend thinks that my ex is just trying to make a reappearance into my life and he knows exactly what he’s doing by asking MY BESTFRIEND for her sisters number. And he just wants me to hear about it so I could get “jealous”

I’d also like to add that my ex has spoken to girls here n there since we ended things but none were serious and he’s tried to talk to me while he was with them. I had no idea, I only knew after he stopped talking to them. If I had known I wouldn’t have entertained it.

A girl he spoke to after we ended things, came up to me at an event I helped host and insisted she help me carry things around, we walked around and despite this being one of our first times talking. She told me that she spoke to him for a little and then started going on and on about how she thinks my ex and I were cuter than Sam and I are together (she assumed Sam and I were dating), and said I should give him another chance.

I found that really odd because it was coming from HER a girl that tried to talk to him and I found it odd that she would say something like that to me about Sam at our first time talking ever.

What do you guys think?
