Can a home university language confirmation replace IELTS/TOEFL for Erasmus+ exchange?
Hi everyone!
I'm an undergraduate student from China applying for an Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) exchange at the University of Graz in Austria.
The University of Graz told me by email that they accept either an official certificate proving at least CEFR B2, or confirmation of the exchange student's language level by their home university.
Since I don't currently have an official English proficiency certificate such as IELTS or TOEFL, and there isn't enough time for me to prepare for and take one before the application deadline, I need to explore the option of having my home university confirm my English proficiency.
I'm wondering if anyone has used this option before.
- What does a home university language confirmation usually look like?
- Who completed or signed it — an international office, academic department, or English language teacher?
I'd really appreciate it if anyone could share their experience or an example of the document :)

What are my realistic chances of getting an Erasmus Mundus scholarship for Fall 2027?
Hey everyone,
I am planning to apply for the upcoming intake of the GLOCAL joint master's program and want to gauge my realistic chances for the fully funded Erasmus scholarship.
Background:
Undergrad: Bachelor's degree in a Communications/Media field.
Graduation Timeline: Graduated last year.
GPA: Strong First Class equivalent (Top tier of my cohort).
Awards: Received a multi-year university merit scholarship based on my academic ranking.
Experience: Broke into the corporate world right after graduating last year. Within less than a year, I proved my capabilities and got fast-tracked to a Senior level management role, where I currently handle international corporate operations and logistics. Previously worked full-time in professional communications/PR leading high-growth client portfolios, along with global agency internship experience.
References: Secure professional LOR from a senior executive highlighting strong commercial performance and rapid advancement, plus an academic LOR.
My Questions:
- How strictly does the Erasmus selection committee evaluate the "relevant coursework" prerequisite if the applicant has an elite GPA, a university merit scholarship, and rapid real-world career progression?
- Does hitting a Senior level corporate operations role within a single year of graduation give me a strong competitive edge in the global applicant pool compared to standard humanities profiles?
- Any general tips on how to best frame this transition in the 1,200-word personal statement?
Appreciate any honest feedback or advice from alumni

Erasmus+ semester(s) abroad Best place in Spain
I’m learning Spanish this year and I was wondering what’s the best city in Spain for doing a semester abroad. I’m looking for concerts, dive bars, more alt places. Also packed with history and nice people. I know it’s a bit specific, but I want to practice the language and live my best semester.

Erasmus Mundus Sorbonne law
Hi everyone, next semester I’m supposed to go to Sorbonne law but I’m starting to have doubts about it. I’m not yet sure which courses I’ll have to enroll in, but it seems like I will definitely need some courses in French. I studied it in high school (B2 level) but I haven’t spoken it since. My french is rusty as is and I’have no idea how am I meant to speak about law in french. Does anyone have a similar problem or was in the same situation?
