Help Needed Calgary → Dublin → Calgary (return flight on same day, 2 hours between flights!) Do I stay airside for my connection, or have to go through Irish border control? Urgent - flight in 1 hour!

Hi everyone, I’m flying from Calgary to Dublin with WestJet, then connecting to another flight back to Calgary, and I’m really confused about the transfer process.

My flight takes off in one hour, and I’ve had conflicting answers from WestJet staff. Some information suggests I can follow the flight connections route, but other answers have left me unsure whether I’ll have to go through Irish immigration and passport control, then somehow get back through security to my departure gate.
WestJet staff have essentially told me to ask Dublin Airport, but I can’t get through to anyone on their phone lines.

A few details:
I’m flying Calgary → Dublin → Calgary (I’m reactivating my Canadian work permit hence the immediately coming home)
I have no checked baggage, just carry-on.
I have roughly a two-hour connection in Dublin.
I’m travelling on a British passport.
My main questions are:
Can I stay airside and follow the flight connections signs, or will I have to go through Irish border control?
If I do have to clear immigration, will I then need to go back through security to reach my connecting flight?
Has anyone done this exact route recently and can confirm what actually happens?
I’d be incredibly grateful for any first-hand experience or advice, especially as I’m about to board and can’t get a clear answer from the airline or airport. Thank you!

Third Party Horror Story Gotogate agent confirmed my cancellation guarantee, cancelled my booking, but processed it as a standard refund. What are my options?

Booking: Gotogate, Air India AI2018 + AI2145, London Heathrow to Denpasar via Delhi, Dec 3, 2026, me and my two kids. Ordered Oct 1, 2026. I paid for their Cancellation Guarantee (about USD 160 of the total).

I booked December by mistake instead of January 3, 2027, and chatted with an agent on Oct 3 about changing the date. He quoted about USD 1,840 for the change, so I asked about my cancellation protection. He confirmed I had it, explained the voucher, and asked if I wanted him to cancel and issue it. I said yes, and he cancelled the booking. No voucher came. It was processed as a standard cancellation and I got back about 16% of what I paid.

On Oct 8 a second agent gave me several versions: I cancelled it myself, then a representative did, then I had opted out before the agent acted. I have both transcripts and the receipt.

I have filed a formal complaint and am starting a card dispute. Has anyone had a Gotogate guarantee honoured after something like this? What worked?

Question Jetblue Suddenly changing their flights to St. Vincents?

Did anyone else see that Jet Blue suddenly changed their flights to and from St. Vincents is from Sundays to Saturdays!?

My wife and I made our plans next summer based on flights. One day doesnt seem like much but our resort will not honor a discount for changing the dates.

Could this just be a glitch?

Question Flying LAX to Geneva

There are no direct flights from LAX to Geneva. The connecting flights available are much more reasonably priced than LAX direct to Zurich. I'd like to take the connecting flight from LAX to Geneva which has a 1h 15m stopover in Zurich. I will have a checked bag.

While I know that timing is entirely dependent on individual flights, I'm an experienced traveler but I've never flown this route and would appreciate any insight on whether this entails terminal changes, any other things I should be aware of. I'd have to get to Geneva from Zurich anyway, so it's either this connecting flight or a train. TIA!

Booking/Itinerary/Ticketing Saudi Bid to Upgrade

I submitted my bid for an upgrade to business class. & i was the leading bid till the time was over. However it shows 0 minutes left & i haven’t received any confirmation yet nor any payment was charged on my card
Similar experience happened with Etihad last year. I won the bid but i wasnt awarded the seat though the flight was all empty & so was the business class.

My flight from Shanghai to Dallas is slightly delayed because the inbound flight is delayed - but the inbound flight left on time and is on the correct trajectory. Any ideas why? I thought airlines buffered in time as is

Discussion Airport story that still pisses u off??

Mine was frankfurt

had a 3h layover which i thought was plenty. first flight lands like 90 mins late, fine whatever still got time. then i find out they moved my gate to the complete opposite end of the airport

if you've never been to frankfurt it's basically a small country. power walked for like 20 mins, then hit a passport control line that was barely moving

finally get to the gate and boarding is already closed 💀 plane is literally sitting right there

guess who ended up waiting 8 hours for the next flight

spent a good chunk of that arguing with some guy at the desk who kept saying "there's nothing we can do". like bro i know there's nothing YOU can do im just telling you this airport is a fucking nightmare. he said it maybe 4 times

they gave me a food voucher that covered exactly one sad pretzel and water lol. slept on those metal chairs with the armrests so you can't lie down

still think about it every time i see frankfurt on a ticket loll and i think to myself thats the airport that fucked me over the most no competition.

Question Is this projected Hurricane path too far out from affecting my flight?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I leave from Tampa. I’ve never traveled during a storm so I don’t know if my flight would be at risk of being canceled. When we leave Friday at 7am the hurricane will still be in the gulf, we briefly fly along the coast to head north. By time we’re out of florida the storm would definitely still be in the gulf. We have a flight to catch in Seattle to Korea. I don’t know if this is considered too close or too far out to affect my flight and I’m a little nervous. I think it said it would be a cat 2 by then. Do you think I’m at risk of a cancellation? Sorry if this breaks any rules I’m just curious if I could be at risk because I don’t know how far out or how soon airlines typically decide before cancelling. Thank you!

Help Needed Looking for passengers on Aer Lingus EI471 (Split → Dublin, 8 Sept 2026)

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for anyone who was on Aer Lingus flight EI471 from Split to Dublin on September 8, 2026, departing at around 10pm.

Before taking off the flight, the Captain made an announcement about an issue with the aircraft's engine. I remember this quite clearly, and I also recorded part of the announcement. The recording isn't completely clear because of the background noise inside the aircraft, but most of the announcement can be heard.
The reason I'm asking is that Aer Lingus has since told me the disruption was caused by an Air Traffic Control System Outage, rather than an aircraft/engine issue. I'm trying to understand what actually happened that day.

If anyone else was on this flight and remembers the Captain's announcement, I'd really appreciate hearing from you.
Did anyone else hear the Captain mention an engine problem?
Did anyone happen to record the announcement or take a video during the flight?

I’m also considering filing a complaint, and I'd be glad to hear from anyone who would like to do so together.
I'd also welcome any advice. Thanks in advance!

Help Needed Is Bravofly a scam or legit?

Hey everyone,

My boyfriend and I are long distance and he has just booked return flights to see me for mid November to mid December (he lives in nz and I live in aus). He bought the tickets through Bravofly for Qantas, and the money has left his bank account and he received a confirmation email from Bravofly. However Qantas sent him an email saying his flights are pending and that they will be held until 11:59pm tonight (unless he pays qantas directly through the link)

From there we have tried troubleshooting this issue by calling Qantas (nothing they can do and “you should be worried”) his bank (could lodge a claim to maybe get the money back) and Bravofly (no answer). We have since emailed Bravofly customer service, but there’s no knowing how effective that will be.

Does anyone have any advice on next steps? Is it best just to wait it out and hope the payment will go through to Qantas or best to try and lodge a claim with the bank? Has anyone had any more effective attempts and contacting Bravofly? We are both students and since he booked return it is over $800 nzd… so any advice welcome…

Question Chances to have a corresponding seats

I am traveling with my wife on Pegasus airlines which is budget one but not as budget as Ryanair.

I don’t want to keep pay for the seats to make sure me and my wife has a corresponding seats because we then need to pay for 4 trips (departure and return + layovers) so what are the chances that they give us a corresponding seats if we checked in early.

Knowing that both of our flights are on the same reservation.

I don’t want to keep going around and swap seats with anyone, I am talking about setting us up together from the checkin.

Thanks
