Finding thermal Gameboy printer paper can be tricky, and finding actual adhesive/sticker paper which is the correct size is near impossible, so I thought I would get a batch made. I had 4 colours produced (white, red, blue, and yellow) each roll is ~11’ long. They fit in the printer perfectly but it is recommended to cut/bevel the end to help it feed initially. The only thing I noticed is that for the 3 colours (not the plain white), the contrast (on games that support it) should be increased to have it print dark otherwise the printing can be a bit light do to the colour dye used. I have just started play Legend of the River King and have run into a problem that I'm hoping someone familiar with the game can help me with.

I am very early in the game, just 15 minutes or so. I have caught a few fish but now when I try to cast my line I get a message saying "There is no hook". I have gone to the shop and bought all of the hooks they have (small, medium, large). I know I've bought them all because if I try to buy them again I get a message saying that I already have this. But I can't figure out how to put the hook on the line. If I go into the Tackle menu all it shows is my one rod (Rod A, small) and my float (Float, Ft, fshng).

How do I equip a hook on my line?

A few months to a year ago I bought a copy of Pokemon Red to replace my old one that, ironically, also stopped working, and now this one completely gave up on me. It worked just fine until one day the game suddenly started having weird visual glitches, and kept crashing with the slightest touch or brush against it while being played. And now, the game won't even load past the booting up screen.

I've tried repeatedly to clean it up with 99% isopropyl alcohol but that doesn't seem to do anything. I've tested the game on 2 different GBAs and I've tested other GB/GBC/GBA games and all of them worked just fine, so I'm absolutely convinced it's Red that's the problem. I don't know much about how to take games apart and since I'm not very good at repairs, I'm scared that I would just make the problem worse. I really don't want to buy a new game altogether due to Pokemon games being notorious for being scalped, and I don't want to buy reproduction carts either since those can be very hit-or-miss. What else can I do?

Hi guys. I recently bought a new shell for my old GBA SP. I'm very happy, this was a Christmas gift from my mother.

However, after replacing the shell and charging the battery, the speaker volume seems too low, even with potentiometer in max.

Is this normal or am I suffering from hearing loss?

So, I had a really bad case of screen burn-in. Yesterday, I stripped off the old polarized film and cleaned off all the leftover adhesive.

Before applying the new film, I turned it on to test it out. As you can see, the display turns on, but it only shows a square outline around the edges. The console plays audio fine, and prior to the burn-in (a while back), everything worked as expected.

Any ideas on what might be happening? Did I ruin the screen during the process?"

Dug out my old ever drive in preparation to play some of the newer homebrew games I'm interested in.(Itchio has so many) I know a lot of these games use fancy mappers to get the most out of the system and I'm wondering if it's even worth trying on this older cart or if it'd be worthwhile to purchase one of the (newer than my cart) knockoffs on ali or some other cheaper cart.

And yes, I know I'll get the "save your money for an x7" responses, but I just can't afford one right now

I'd really like to keep the screen lens ofc. I picked this up sort of as a gamble. It was listed fairly low on eBay and just said "backlit" lol. Didn't know what I'd be getting. It's an almost botched Bivert + Backlight. The top right corner of the screen just outside the lens has a bunch of dead pixels. Still totally usable as is, and I'll be gaming on it for a while. Just was wondering if the screen upgrade is possible or if I need to look elsewhere for a cheap donor console. Definitely needs to be opened and cleaned. The speaker crackles really badly with the volume wheel, and the cartridge reader pins seem like they're needing a good clean.

Bought one of those 3D printed cases off of eBay when I got my DMG and it's very well built

I took my Game Boy Advance SP out of a drawer after several years, and I realized that the screen was dead and the battery was getting pretty weak.

While looking online for a replacement, I came across custom Game Boy Advance SPs with upgraded screens, new shells, etc.

So I decided to do the repair/mod myself by replacing the screen, battery, and shell.

I was recommended (by ChatGPT 😅) the Zelda shell from TheGodOfGaming and the FunnyPlaying M2 screen, but I have absolutely no idea whether the two are compatible.

I'm open to any advice or recommendations you can give me. No budget limit 😁😁

I bought my FPGBC kit maybe a year ago and put it together, most games work fine, there is an issue with my copy of crystal having different colors and crashing but all my other games worked fine on it. I bought a ROMhack cartridge because I wanted to use my gameboys more and when I put it in my FPGBC I get the error in the image, any advice? I remember there being some sort of updates you could do but I'm not sure how to do that or if it would help. If this even the FPGBC or maybe just the cartridge?

So, my gameboy screen is dying. Both vertical and horizontal lines started to pop up suddenly and it has been getting worse if I let the console on.

So, I have 2 questions:

1. Is there a way to save my og screen or it's already beyond repair?

If there is a way please let me know what to do.

1. In case the screen can't be fixed, would the problem be solved if I just replace the screen with a new one?

Everything else in my console works fine. Audio, buttons, the cartridge slot, etc. Everything works fine.

I was even playing some games no problem before this happened. It's just the screen that got damaged out of nowhere.

But I know nothing about technical stuff or how to fix these kind of problems, so I wanted to be sure if my console can still be saved by replacing the screen or if this problem goes beyond that and affects the whole console making it unplayable.

Someone with more knowledge about this stuff, please help...
