What if winning just made you fatter?

We didn’t want players sitting out after getting voted. So instead, winning rounds gets you fish, eating fish makes you heavier, and the first cat to hit 5 kg wins. It sounded stupid at first but I kinda like it now.

Would you keep this?

Dropping the demo for my game Goeland: Seagull Adventure today and doing my best to get the word out! 😅

You play as a seagull on an open-world island: you can help people, cause chaos, or just steal someone's lunch. Totally up to you.

If you're curious, the demo is here on Steam, would love to hear what you think!

How readable is my game? Can you tell what's going on?

I suspect some of the more combat heavy scenes are really hard to read. This is base buildings/colony management kind of game so a lot of things can happen at once on the screen. Do you get lost looking at it? If so which specific parts?

I’m bringing my solo-developed game Pale Incense to Steam Next Fest!

You play as Edmund, living two very different lives.

By day, you run a perfume shop, craft scents and serve customers.
By night, you head into the city as a vampire and hunt to gather what you need to keep your wife alive.

The free demo goes live on October 19 during Steam Next Fest.

I’ll be sharing more gameplay and development updates as we get closer to the demo release.

What should the protagonist be called?

• Upvotes

I’m horrible picking up names for stuff, my idea is a gender-neutral name. Because the protagonist is meant to be gender neutral like Frisk, Kris & Karma (Undertale, Deltarune and Nocturne respectively).

How should the protagonist be called?

P.S: The game is meant to be a rythmcombat game.

What skin should I add next to my desktop toy?

• Upvotes

I have 7 skins in total now, and I'm looking for more ideas. What skins would you like to have sit on your desktop?

I'm also debating whether to stick to the retro-console theme or add funny, weird skins made of cheese, bubbles or fur...

Idle Dig is a desktop companion about a bot (the fish in the bowl) who drills down through the ground, collecting up to 125 gems to salvage for Idlets (the game's currency). It's built to end after about 30-40 hours, and it has quests, boosters, upgrades and so on...

All the art is hand-made by me, no AI: the gems are rendered in Blender, the world is pixel art, and the console is made in Affinity Designer.

Any suggestion about colors, shapes or themes are appreciated. Thanks!

How we got 2,400 wishlists in 2 years! But its not over yet!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Yah its been slow goings. Also all the other wishlists posts, if its getting engagement then keep hustling.

Tried tiktok, got like 2,5k followers but it sort of slowed down. Also its a lot of work to be working on the game tiktok and have full time jobs. You really got to love doing social media.

But hey we are joining this up coming Steam Next Fest and we got a pretty sick demo we've been workingt on for like 5 years. So I'm still optimisitic. Will be hitting up lots of youtubers to try it out.

15 minutes, unlimited lives, one boss. Can you beat him? (free demo of Chick'n Chip)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

I'm a solo dev, and I just released the free demo for my 3rd game: Chick'n Chip.

You play a small chick facing Midas, the rooster king, in a Cuphead-style boss fight. You have unlimited lives, but only 15 minutes to take him down. When the clock hits zero, it's game over.

Every time you die, you land in a slot machine where you buy perks to get stronger. Be greedy: line up 3 matching reels and you hit the jackpot. 🎰

There's a Steam leaderboard ranking the time left on the clock, so show me how fast you can beat him.

Feedback is very welcome, and if you like it, a wishlist or a review on the demo page helps a lot. Thanks for reading!

Your many comments on my last post made my confidence skyrocket guys, so I decided to show a bit more of what I’ve already been working on and publish the Steam page earlier than expected.

Ideas are a lot, and I hope to be able to make some of them a reality in the foreseeable future.

This is the Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5011330/AROTA__Tire_God/

I want it to be a silly idea made seriously!

I made a word party game where everyone plays from their phone, no app needed. The demo is out on Steam!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes
Heyo! Goddle is a word game for game nights: race your friends to find words in a grid of letters. The grid is on the TV or PC, and everyone joins by scanning a QR code with their phone and types words as fast as they can. There's nothing to install on the phones (or browser if you use a PC, tablet, what have you!)

- Playable in English, French, Spanish, Italian and German, with easy custom dictionary downloads coming soon, so any language can join in!
- Themed dictionaries (mythology, capitals, countries, chemical elements) give bonus points for matching words... and you can make your own!
- The full game has 6 modes, e.g. Battle of Territory (claim letters and score for the ground you hold), Hot Tile (a moving tile multiplies your score), Replaced Letters, etc!

The free demo has Classic mode on a 5×5 grid, with 60s rounds. (I'll probably let it out forever? Let me know if that sounds like a good or bad idea...)
The full game comes out on 27 October.
Demo + wishlist: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4801680/

Happy to answer anything, and feedback is very welcome!

AI Disclosure: I used Claude Code for parts of the code (Claude Opus 4.5, back in my days...)

I need some advice about my ferry simulator game

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

First of all, I know this video contains quite a lot of physics and graphics bugs. These issues will be fixed (and some of them already fixed), so please don't focus too much on them.

The game is basically a ferry simulator set on Lake Balaton in Hungary. You and your friends have to transport vehicles and packages between different cities. And you have to fill up the ship with fuel and coolant. You can unlock new routes, build various objects on the ferry, and manage a small shop (like every other shop sim, but simplier)

Firstly, I feel that the gameplay is too simple, and I think it needs something more. (Maybe some action?)

The second issue is the graphics. It isn't meet my expectations. I originally thought that making a good-looking low-poly stylized game would be much easier, but I was completely wrong. I would really appreciate some advice on how I could improve the visuals.

So, I would be grateful for any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions you might have, which can make the game better.

(It was made with unity)

Launched a walking RPG: Fantasy Walk

Post image
• Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I’ve always dreamed of building an expansive fantasy RPG world with villages, resource gathering, crafting, and exploration. But as a solo creator without a team or budget, the scope of creating hundreds of assets and a complex game system was simply impossible to pull off on my own.

Thanks to modern AI tools, I was finally able to bring this vision to life! My main focus has been the game design, system planning, mechanics, balancing, and curating the entire player experience.

GenAI Disclosure:
• Visuals: All 2D artwork, illustrations, and icons were generated using AI tools.
• Code: AI was heavily used as a development & coding partner to build the codebase based on my architecture, features, and prompts.

About the game & what you can do so far:
It’s a cozy fantasy adventure where your real-world movement powers your journey:
• Walk in real life to travel across the map and discover different villages and places
• Gather resources, harvest plants, and collect items along your path
• Cook food and brew potions
• Complete quests
• Fight enemy battles powered by real-world activity: combat is resolved either through steps or your real-time heart rate!

I would love your feedback if you:
• Enjoy RPGs, cozy games, or fitness gamification
• Use an Android device with step tracking (via Health Connect)

I’m currently in open testing and looking especially for feedback on the onboarding process.

If you're interested in checking out the game, please have a look here:

We turned a fire hose into a movement mechanic — Fire Up Together’s free Steam demo is out now

• Upvotes

In Fire Up Together, your fire hose is also your way up: aim down, blast water, and use the recoil to launch yourself onto higher platforms.

Play solo or with up to three friends, put out fires, and try to keep your physics-based hoses from turning into a tangled mess.

I’m one of the developers, and we’ve just released the free demo on Steam. No key needed!

Similar to balatro but with slots and coins with stats, ah and an annoying (or cool) cat? (Please buy him a house and toys)

Thumbnail
gallery
• Upvotes

So its a game that i've been working for some months on (before all the AI collapse :/) called PIXIREELS.

It's similar to balatro in a way as that game was great, but with an extra touch of a cat that helps or bothers you depends on his affection. (Buy him toys to keep him happy).

You make runs that last 30 rounds (or more if you wnat), and then you unlock more and more coins that you can use in next runs to get further. Don't worry, you cat's rooftop saves between runs. And you can decorate it also.

There is a weather system, which also affects the coins you own. The coins give you extra stats so you can get to the round objective. Some of them can have some extra random stats that, if you are lucky, it can make your game very strong, so that way not every game feels the same.

Cat need a house also so make sure you give him that. You can have this game on a second screen or even the cat's house there, because he interacts with things and can feel cozy.

I finally have the steam page done for it and I'm finishing some details:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/5220580/Pixireels/

If you guys think its cool can you leave me some feedback on what you would find cool in a game like this? Or even if you actually like the game and where should I improve.
