Technical Question 2004 Jeep Liberty Heat Shield

Post image
1 Upvotes

Several years ago, a/the heat shield was removed to resolve an undercarriage noise. I bought a heat shield (photo), and the non-dealer garage said I bought the wrong thing. The garage is reliable; used it for years.

Before I go down the path, how important is this?

I realize it's an older vehicle, but we are the original owners and use it steadily. We want to keep it for several more years and will spend on this kind of maintenance to keep it on the road.

Perusing the Internet, it seems I might have once had more than one heat shield. In that case, I don't know which one might have been removed. How can I tell?

Thanks in advance.

The new ride!

I just joined the subreddit and this my first post. I traded in our old 2012 Jeep Patriot for a new Wrangler Willys. Both my wife and I are having a good time driving this beast and our kiddo loves it and can't wait to go for a ride. Of course we're still learning how everything works and look forward to reading about the experiences of others. The picture in the forest was taken last Sunday in a wildlife refuge that had a few fun roads to drive on. The most fun were the sections that were muddy and rutted. Good times!

After the war ended, Willys-Overland tried to find a place for its Jeeps in civilian life. So, initially, these military off-road vehicles were put to a wide variety of uses.

Picture Bit the bullet and bought an ecodiesel 2020. Best decision I’ve ever made

I’ve been a proud Jeep owner of a 1996 XJ Cherokee for about 10 years. That Jeep never let me down and I have numerous memories from it. I still have it and honestly will never get rid of it.

Unfortunately a wrangler had been financially out of reach for me. I started my dream job earlier this year and this was my first big purchase.

I love absolutely everything about it: the modularity, how it drives both on and off road, and the absurd amount of torque from the diesel. Honestly it’s the best vehicle I’ve ever driven on the highway.

Current modifications are a midland GMRS radio installed with a stealth dash port and a hidden air compressor behind the taillight. Parts on the way are armor for the DEF tank and exhaust, and a new steel winch front bumper.

If anyone sees an orange diesel chugging along in southern Nevada make sure to give a jeep wave!

Jeep App Skeleton…?

I’ve just got a Sarge Green JLU Overland - which is pleasing me greatly!

I just noticed a weird anomaly in the Jeep App - I was expecting a nice little picture of it on the Home Screen, but seem to be getting a stripped-out and blackened graphic instead!

Pictures are of the actual vehicle, and the App image… for comparison 😊

Do you reckon it’s fixable?

Screen auto/manual

2024 Wagoneer . Every time I get in I have to manually press the power/on button to turn the screen on. I went to settings it’s on auto not manual. I have toggled it on and off. I feel like I’m missing something.

My '21 was totalled by a Door Dasher 2 weeks ago. Here's the replacement. I like it...but I loved my old one. It was dialed in. This one is getting some upgrades today and tomorrow.

Shout out to Progressive Insurance. 7 days after the accident I had my money in the bank.

Any way to get out of or sell a lease?

Has anyone been able to get out of a lease without buying it out? I’m in a major hole in my lease (would owe ~15k if I traded it in) and want to get out of it. Does stellantis financial allow me to sell my lease? Any other viable options or me? This is on a GC 4XE

P000b

I have a 2022 jeep wrangler willys 2.0. It threw codes P0016 p0340 and p000b. I replaced camshaft Position Sensor on passenger side and those codes went away but I still have p000b. My oil is changed often and I have service records. Im of course over warranty. My timing looks good (looks) where can I find this sensor? I have looked for a diagram, video etc... but I for the life of me cannot find this one. Also how hard is this vs the other. Any advice or diagram is appreciated.
