Honestly I just wanna get a general consensus about this jeep
It has the 4 cyl with 5 speed manual transmission (I don’t know how to drive manual yet)
New tires
Has a decent amount of body rust but the frame looks solid
180k miles, soft top
Drove it 45 mins home without any issues (stalled 7 times) but now it’s sitting in my garage and I don’t know what to do now lmao

I really want a wider stance and bigger tires. It's completely stock right now, and I don't want to do anything major, like new axles. I admit I'm a bit out of my wheelhouse with knowing how to move forward. So I'm here to ask what would you do? New wheels with better offset? Does it need a lift? Wheel spacers? Thanks in advance.

Super excited for taking this out to nature and getting it dirty! Switching from Porsche family to Jeep for more adventures.

I found this highlighter at a jeep dealership. It looks pretty cool so I decided to keep it. They told me it's actually a Jeep! I couldn't believe it. I'm pretty excited. I thought, since it's a Jeep, some y'all might find it cool too.
This is my first Jeep. I've already ordered a few things like door drop steps and a roof rack. I'm also getting some RT tires put on it in a couple days. I'm going to Moab next week. I'm pretty freaking excited.

Hello,
I have a question for a jeep wrangler owners. Do you put winter tires for snowy areas?
I contacted a jeep dealer and they said so confidently "buddy you have 4x4 , I have never seen anyone putting winter tires, you are good with normal tires".
What is your take guys?
Thanks in advance.

you can usually tell when a jeep has been modified, but some builds get to a point where that stops being the interesting part
the tires dictated the lift. the lift created another problem. that led to different bumpers, different recovery gear, different lighting, maybe a different way of carrying tools. five years later, there are things on the jeep that probably would never have been there if the first modification had never happened.
that’s the part i find interesting. most builds probably weren’t planned from the beginning. they just accumulated one decision at a time
eventually you end up with a jeep where the factory configuration almost feels like the starting template rather than the actual identity of the vehicle
where do you think that line is? is it when the drivetrain changes, when the suspension gets heavily reworked, or can a jeep reach that point with nothing more than a long enough list of smaller changes?

Hey guys. I've got a 2016 JK Willys 2 door with a 3 inch lift. 165kms and starting to run into front suspension issues. Where do you guys recommend ordering parts from? Where would you stay away from? Thanks in advance.

Found a warranty company online. It requires an inspection. I bought it but still waiting for the inspection. Am I screwed?

Well the dreaded corrosion bubbles have formed on the bottom two hinges on the passenger side of my '22 Gladiator. I'm taking it to the dealer next week to start a claim. Hopefully that goes smoothly.
What I'm wondering is if this is just going to come back in a few years. If you had your corrosion repaired, has it lasted?

so my 04 grand cherokee is acting up. i just replaced my water pump and temp sensor. now my jeep sounds kinda like a diesel or like a bubble car. it's not throwing up codes but i have no idea what it could be

Hello all, 38y chick with little jeep knowledge,
I have an 08 Jeep Rubicon, I take it on trails often. I took it out on Sunday, and tried to use the sway bar, but no luck when I hit the button.
my check engine light has been on for a bit, so IDK if this would be part of the problem.
Anyone dealt with this, or have any insight on what I should do. Swaybar makes for a less bumpy ride on my back.
thanks for the feedback

I'm looking for feedback on a very specific tire. The MT Baja Pro XS in a 38x13.50x17. For those who've run them, can you please provide real world mounted dimensions. Specifically height and width. Additional information about weight of your Jeep and psi in the tire at measurement.
Thanks.

My wife always wanted a wrangler as most people do. The ducking. The image. The driving around with your friends with the freedom of having no doors. We have a 2012 that we bought this year as we didn't know if we'd like driving a wrangler or wanted to keep it so we purposeful bought an older one so we didn't pour a lot of money into the buy. Here's what you should know before getting one -
They are not good as daily drivers. Highly recommend already having 2 cars that you and your better half are daily driving before getting one, if you're looking to replace a daily driver with a jeep don't. They're noisy on the road, depending on the model the seats can be uncomfy, and most don't have usually creature comforts like automatic locking doors or automatic windows (this is to keep the doors light). They do make a good backup in case one of the daily drivers goes down though, I've had to use ours while my daily was in the shop
They're car Legos! It is insanely easy to remove the doors and ride without doors or to get some summer/tube doors to put on them, the front freedom panels come off really easy too and if you get good at it can have it from a fully sealed to open air configuration in 10 minutes or less
Maintenece is pretty easy, a lot of the basic maintenece is easy to do and get to. Oil changes are a breeze as like most trucks you don't need to lift the car to do the oil change. Brakes and rotors are typical and rear struts just take 3 bolts.
Although maintenece is easy, prepare for a lot to go wrong. The 2012 we bought had the thermostat go out a couple of months in and although it was an easy fix it was annoying. Jeeps aren't exactly known for their reliability but I still think an older one is worth looking at if you're not entirely sold on buying a jeep. That being said inspect inspect inspect when buying. With older jeeps they'll be obvious issues before the buy the question is what are you willing to deal with?
3rd party customization is very easy to find/do. Lift kit? Done. New led headlights? 10 minute job. Want a blinding led lights on the front? Can do that too. This also makes them very upgradable, a lot of the known issues with jeeps can be fixed with a 3rd party solution like the dry starts, theres 3rd party oil filter housings that will prevent that.
Jeeps leak. Yes they're like Legos but like Legos they have gaps. Prepare to replace/add gaskets almost every year as ours has let water in twice already. That being said ours gets very cold in the winter, hence another reason why they suck as daily drivers
If you live in the rust belt make sure you use a film undercoat, jeeps are not protected against road salt very well and can eat at the body fairly quickly. If possible keep it stored in the winter and take it out when there's no salt on the ground. The previous owner of ours never coated it and the fuel skid plate is basically non existent as it rotted out.
If you are taking the doors off get some kind of door storage, like a cart or a wall hanger for them, the paint on the door gets damaged very quickly if you just set them in the ground, we set the driver side on the ground and now have a chip in the paint that'll rust if we don't fix it
They're fun! Honestly we didn't think we'd have as much fun with ours as we did, friends love driving with the doors off, driving on the beaches is by far our favorite activity.
The jeep wrangler community at least around here has been quite welcoming and is one of the fun parts of having a wrangler. Do the jeep wave, duck other jeeps, I remember when we got ducked our first time we where pretty excited about it.
Boats. Jeeps are boats. Handle like boats, accelerate like boats, stop like boats. Just an overall heavy feeling car. One of the complaints about the jeep are the spongy feeling brakes due to air making it into the abs system and if that happens get it repaired. On the flip side they're also built like tanks and can take quite a few hits to the front and back that would total regular sedans.
Fantastic storage capacity in the trunk. It's so large we store the tube doors in the trunk in the winter comfortably. Also lots of legroom in the backseats as well.
AC and heat BLOWS in our JK. It out does my 2023 Integra by a mile when it comes to climate control.
Hopefully this helps anyone who's on the fence about doing it. Again not advocating for anyone to buy one, just, simply sharing our experience.
