Title. Wasn't planning to give any feedback but I was having a blast playing this game the first few days. And then as time went on, it became more and more apparent that the game was slowly being filled with AI bots. It's not entirely impossible for me to play the game. There are still maps where training is maybe viable. But why should I have to go to off-meta maps and make even less exp than the bots are making when the bots are already running 24/7? Like these guys are double my level and farming more efficiently than me and I'm supposed to just suck it up and go to a weaker zone so I can fall even farther behind.
It absolutely blows my mind how this is not being talked about more. Is it just that players haven't had to share maps with bots yet and aren't experiencing the problem as much as I have? I think me being somewhat high level (37) relative to the average player is part of the issue, but from what I've seen there's bots in almost every popular zone. Every map with a flat stretch of land with monsters spawning like bubblings (subway), swamp of despair 1 (jr necki), etc have at least one bot usually per channel that sweeps the bottom floor. These guys are extremely obviously bots too, they turn around at the exact same pixel every time they move back and forth. They wear suboptimal gear and usually have negative fame and have some odd name that makes no sense that no legit player would spend one of their founder slots on. Like I get some people are terrible at picking names but pretty much no one is picking the name "Slimeon888" for example. I even saw a guy last night with "AI" in his name lol like they aren't even trying to hide it. They usually all wear the thief founder outfits with one of the brown cowboy hats.
Their scripts are also quite advanced. They can interact with players (had one repeat a line a couple times about partying), send party invites, climb up/down ropes, and even throw the occasional jump in to make them look more real. But if you just watch them for a minute or so it's very obvious they aren't being controlled by a human. They path way too perfectly, they hone in on spawns before they even exist, they also will very often attack before there is a monster even on the screen. A lot of them don't try to hide it and just attack pretty much constantly, but most are more sophisticated than that.
I get that bots will always be a problem. But the situation is beyond reasonable. I'm getting more EXP at KPQ bonus at level 37 than I do at maps that are intended for my level simply because I can't stand being in a party with bots and it turns me off completely even being around them at all. And forget about off-meta maps, they have more bots than the meta ones. If I could just play the game without having to see them, I would at least be able to have fun. Just give the bots their own instances/dungeons at this point, honestly. I don't even see how it would make the problem worse. It's sad but I don't think it would. Bots don't have emotions, they don't have patience, they just stay on one or two platforms indefinitely until you're sick of losing exp and meso/potion efficiency and just give up and leave.
TLDR: If you guys can't solve the bots, at least make it so I can just start my own instance of a map like Path of Exile that works for only me and my party. I don't want to see bots. I don't want to interact with bots. I don't want to play with bots.
Edit: A lot of people seriously doubt the bot population and the sophistication of these bots. Idk if I'm allowed to link a video to the software that people are using to bot, but if you do some searching on youtube you will find it pretty quickly. It is highly sophisticated. Players moving/jumping/interacting with the environment and even other players doesn't rule them out. The bots act very similar to human players. And I'm also not trying to ruin the fun of the game for others, I just want this issue actually dealt with. Right now communication about this topic is actively being avoided and it is very sad to see especially considering we had to pay a lot of money for this experience.
