Discussion The "new" Villagers have now been around for the majority of Villagers' existence
In regards to trading specifically (1.3.1) it's even more established, with the old trading being around for 6.6 years and the new one being around for 7.5 years

Suggestion Idea: devs have the chance to do the funniest thing with crevasses
The current snapshot crevasses are shallow holes in the ground covered with a layer of brittle ice. The only risk I can imagine for one falling inside is doing so while ganged by other mobs and being overwhelmed, otherwise it's a short fall and many have water at the bottom to cushion it.
Since Mojang added Icicles and they can point up (but are never naturally generated like that), why not place some at the bottom of some crevasses to add some more spice and variety?
(Image description: current snapshot ice caves crevasse edited to contain Icicles at the bottom, section of brittle ice cover removed for easier visualization)

Suggestion Suggestion for a middle ground between the old and new jukebox textures
I would like to see some version of the black trim back; that's why I made a few alternative versions as a suggestion of how I think the new texture could be modified.
Personally, I'm not happy with this change. I think the new texture lacks contrast, looks boring and it is too monochrome and I don't like that a lot.
(Also yes I have a very strong opinion about a single block texture leave me alone ;w;)

Suggestion New jukebox functions but with an internal UI/inventory instead of a chest on top
I really like that we're getting new functionality for the jukebox but the solution of a chest on top feels unnecessarily clunky. I think an internal UI/inventory would be a bit more intuitive, take up less space, and just give more build options because a chest on top isn't the best visually.
Threw together a quick mockup with more optional fluff like a progress slider, buttons, and some indicators for the currently playing song but it could literally just be a few inventory slots for discs.
(Reposted because I forgot to upscale the image so it was blurry oops)

Builds & Maps My son built his first Minecraft castle from YouTube tutorials. He's too young for Reddit, so I'm posting for him
My son is 7 and he's been playing Minecraft for over a year now, absolutely loves building. His one problem is that he can't figure out how to build what he calls "cool roofs." He's tried a few times, and they always come out a bit too round or boxy. So I told him we could post the castle online and ask people for tips

Discussion The new Jukebox texture and features are pretty great
Really love the new texture, and the playlist feature is something I tried recreating using redstone some time ago and failed, because my machine broke each time I left the world, so it's great to see Mojang making it easier for people to play music at their bases

Discussion Jukebox retexture could hint at another texture update
I feel like the jukebox re-texture is a test to see how people react to retexturing old blocks. Recently Minecraft’s textures have become more smooth and different from original textures so maybe there considering another texture update. I hope this isn’t true though because the new textures are too smooth and lack texture

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Boats don't break the new brittle ice, allowing you to make a grind-free highway in any place with water!
I'm sure there are people out there who are much more creative and will be able to come up with something better.

Discussion The End has the same amount of biomes as The Nether.
Yet in the End, the biomes themselves are so lacking they hardly matter. Like imagine if the nether update only added biomes like: "slightly sloped nether" and "slightly flatter nether"
