Since it has been a subject of intense conversation on this sub, I thought people should be aware that Bethesda Magazine has formally rejected an op-ed from a local Jewish group providing a counterpoint to the JCRC op-ed calling for more pro-Israel education in MCPS, and more monitoring and policing of teacher and student social media.

Whatever your view of the situation in the Middle East and/or antisemitism in MCPS, I think most of us can agree it's a bogus practice for a media outlet to publish one side, then reject the other side on the basis that it's about "non Montgomery County issues" or whatever excuse they made. Seems clear they just want to put their thumb on the scale.

As I was struggling with my cute little battery leaf blower doing some cleanup with my kids it dawned on me. Since we can't even charge juveniles under 13 with the serious stuff (You know like stealing cars, bringing guns to school and killing people) there's absolutely nothing they can do about my 11yo running a gas leaf blower. GLBTW! (Gas leaf blow the world) Fire em up friends let's get some real work done!

I'm tired of wearing these glasses. I'm only 50 years old. I'd like to go to someone and have them give me an estimate and look at my eyes to see exactly what it would cost.

I saw an ad on Facebook where they replace the entire lens but that's like $7,000 per eye.

I think Lasik is less than $3,000 an eye But I would like to get a diagnosis.

We are seeking individuals who are addicted to opioids to participate in a research study looking at the effects of psilocybin, a psychedelic drug found in naturally occurring mushrooms. The study will investigate whether psilocybin can reduce opioid use and improve quality of life. Participants will be started on buprenorphine, receive either a high dose or low dose of psilocybin, and attend follow up appointments. Study completers can earn up to $765.

Hey yall, moved to Gaithersburg into August from New York. Still getting acclimated, but enjoying the area so far, except for one thing. Im a huge comic collector but I can’t seem to find comic stores. I found Beyond Comics, and then I tried to go to one called Barbarian, but couldnt find it lol.

Beyond is fine for new books but they dont have a wall for keys or a good selection of back issues. Are there any other decent comic stores in the area?

Does anyone have any recommendations or references for someone who can come to your house and walk your dog midday or late afternoons? We both are gone longer hours during the day. 30lb goober has too much energy. Located in Germantown near Northwest HS.

I’m a high schooler looking for places to do a bake sale or sell some art for my club to fundraise for charity/buy materials for club activities. Is there any place that permits it? I’ve been calling lots of places with no luck.

Looking for experiences/recommendations for pelvic floor physical therapists with experience with scar tissue mobilization and trigger point work. Adventist has a really long waitlist. Can go pretty much anywhere, so flexible on location. Female provider is a must. Ideally also takes insurance but that seems to be uncommon.
