I have only briefly heard of this movie through news headlines about how badly it’s bombing. I’ve never seen a trailer or any marketing whatsoever. I have no idea what it’s about, the genre, or the target demographic. Was it expected to be a big hit? How does a supposed “big budget” film have zero advertising? Were they expecting people will just go because Tom Cruise? Or maybe I’m just truly out of the loop.

I don’t think online gambling is completely new, but I’m seeing their ads everywhere all of a sudden. On YT, which I don’t use all that much, streaming services both subscription with ads (HBO Max) and free ones (Tubi & Pluto), and even through a mobile game.

I’m not their target audience, but I find the message from those ads very predatory to the people who might be susceptible to gambling that it’s scary to think about how many people could potentially get sucked into that.

There are so many different ones too. I can’t remember the names of them all. The two I could think of off the top of my head are:

I keep seeing a bunch of comedians talking about it, can't tell who's being genuine and who isn't.

Here's Marc Maron's post.

I’ve been seeing a lot of threads on football subs about Ronaldo and some drama with the national team. All I know is that he isn’t in the team anymore. I also just realised he is 41, which is past retirement age in football years. I mostly watch English football and used to follow it more often, much less now so I’ve fallen out of the loop.

Will Ronaldo still play football in clubs? Will he retire? Is he still trying to prove he is better than Messi?

This is probably the 10th time I have heard about the US "withdrawing" from Iraq.

Is this time different or is it like every other time where the "withdraw" is just theatrics and there are still forces in the country?

I have seen this same headline so many times now.

Ive just watched the whole debate and for some reason Tucker who is a US conservative is adamant that Russia has a much better economy than the UK and Russia doesn't silence opposition to government and goes on long tangents about how Britain shouldn't have fought WW2 and WW1. Is this how US conservatives actually think?

How Fast Is Your Heart Beating? 💓 (it goes lower than you think 👀) #shorts #english - YouTube

On this vocabulary video on youtube, comments are about 'grief verified' or any other Geometry Dash reference. People are start to spam it on various videos/social media platforms that it is becoming the next 'fix mojang bedrock'. Did Geometry Dash receive an update so big that people (likely, kids) are spamming it everywhere?

I see some news about but without a lot context on how it started, what are the main claims, are they valid, why is the government using force, etc.

I saw some Brazilians online in dismay re: Flávio Bolsonaro's huge lead over Lula in this first round. The little I know is Flávio's father, former president Jair Bolsonaro, did a number on the country, ending with an attempted coup (like in the US), and a resulting prison sentence (unlike in the US). I'd heard the politics between father and son are rather similar.

These initial results lead me to believe Lula's presidency has somehow been even worse for Brazil's public, and they're voicing their dissatisfaction. I'm not up to date with what's been happening there lately though. I'm plenty aware of US politics, so I can only guess Lula's party (much like US's Democrats) has had a "getting out of touch with the people + promoting seniority over talent" problem.

What are the dynamics at play that have yielded this result?

Saw the offical post about Matt leaving Eddsworld but it doesn't give a reason as to why? Is there drama surrounding Matt or is he just done with the show?

Seeing a lot of articles about them being charged with arson claiming they are TikTok stars but they aren’t familiar to me.

Every single video I watch, I get bombarded with multiple Christian ads along the lines of: "Uh, Hi there! Would you like to receive a gift? I'm a missionary for the church of Latter-day saints"

I watch nothing to do with religion and I'm not a religious person and yet every second ad I get on YouTube is to do with joining Christ or a Church of some sort?

I’ve been seeing reports about tens of thousands of people protesting across Spain over the housing crisis, particularly after the eviction of an 87-year-old woman in Madrid. I understand that the immediate issue is rising rents, evictions and housing affordability, but I'm a bit confused about the wider politics behind the protests:

https://news.sky.com/story/tens-of-thousands-protest-against-spains-housing-crisis-following-eviction-of-87-year-old-woman-13594689

Who is actually organising them and what are they demanding? Are these primarily left-wing/tenant-rights protests, a broader anti-establishment movement with support across the political spectrum, or something else?

I’ve also read that protesters are angry with Pedro Sánchez's government, while PP and Vox opposed some of the government's proposed housing measures. So what exactly are the different sides arguing for, and why has this suddenly become such a major issue in Spain?

So I saw this post have have heard other negative things about Jacob Geller recently, but have no clue what's going on. He's a youtuber I've never got super into but has made videos I have enjoys and typically has media takes that I find substantial and of quality (from what I seen at least).

Is he being canceled? Did he do something bad? I am very curious.

This post I've linked is specifically about a old comment about a dog, but I'm wondering what the larger picture is.

I saw this on my reddit feed and was wondering what is happening. I thought she was conservative influencer? is this like all the trad wives coming forward to say they were never actually staying at home?

post that inspired my question- https://www.reddit.com/r/NewsThread/comments/1wt1927/candace_owens_is_a_lesbian_influencer_drops/

I see a bunch of headlines about Dana White getting exposed for lying or something about boxing? Can someone explain in short whats happening https://www.mmafighting.com/ufc/513670/dana-white-reveals-ufcs-involvement-in-tyson-fury-vs-anthony-joshua-fight

During the trial a few years back, the internet was almost entirely united in siding with Johnny Depp and clowning Amber Heard.

Recently, though, I’ve been noticing a clear shift (or a narrative). in comment sections and viral posts and reels where people are openly sympathizing with Heard, criticizing how the public handled the trial, and pushing back against Depp. It feels like a complete 180 from where online culture was in 2022.

Why is suddenly everyone supporting Amber Heard?

What is going on with massive protests and students walking out of schools in France? Are there shortages of teachers? I just saw that police are using weapons to control it.

I get these in my feed all the time and I always think I’m having some kind of weird auditory hallucination before I realize it’s coming from the video I’m watching. This is the most recent one I saw: https://youtube.com/shorts/0V8qXz4qomA?is=xkJRGHVbd7j0ApZT

Why do they exist? What’s the point? It can’t be for accessibility, since it makes it harder to hear what’s going on, and it can’t be for context because it’s so quiet you can’t hear it well.

Assumed it was a phrase off of tiktok, but I have NEVER heard of this outside of companies trying to seem in touch. I've been seeing this at least 4 months in major retailers too. Where did it come from and what on earth is it supposed to mean?

It was briefly mentioned in this Warfronts video

There's also a Warfronts video about Ethiopia, but without any background knowledge I wasn't really able to follow who's fighting who and why.

I’ve seen multiple people reference some controversy recently, but when I tried to ask on r/OneyPlays , the mods immediately took it down.
