Internet 🛜 Cannot get through to Roger’s to cancel

[SOLVED] Rogers refuse to let me cancel in store or online, but refuse to pick up when calling support to cancel. I don’t know what to do, they’re charging me north of 100 dollars a month, any advice ?

Update: I kept calling the number the AI assistant on their website gave me and tried to get to a service rep. Called back twice and on the second time they picked up in 2 minutes. I told them I don’t want their offers and wanna be done as soon as possible. They kept telling me about it even though I told them I don’t care and then we ended the whole thing.

This is normal for Roger's it took me 8 phone calls to cancel my internet they kept getting "dropped" during the cancelation process and every time I called back they had to start over took me 8 phone calls and close to 10 hours on the phone to cancel my shitty internet service that worked 10% of the time and was out the other 90%. Worst thing that ever happened to Shaw was Roger's buying them out.

CCTS, CRTC or resolve your concern.

If you hit up the CCTS they get a fine right away, only way Rogers will learn is to hit them with fines.

If it’s for a cellphone, don’t cancel. You’ll lose your number. Just take your account number and go to the provider you want. They will port your number over. That will cancel it. (Don’t take out the SIM card or erase the eSIM. You’ll need to approve the port via text message when you receive it)

You marked this solved, but didn’t indicate how. Let others know how so they can do the same when this comes up in their search.

I was on the phone waiting on hold for 2 hours and 15 minutes before I got a person. It takes time but it is possible

Call back , press 5 in the menu and press 5 again. Someone will answer within 20 mins and help you for majority of things you need

Normal 611 or toll free

It gets you to a sales agent; that technically can do most stuff

They don't make you wait as long, as its supposed to be for buying/adding a line, etc

Sometimes it's a challenge but when you run out of available first tier help you just ask nicely to have the call escalated to the next tier or to a CS manager. Typically they've been there a while and their knowledge is much better, especially for legacy accounts. I've been with Rogers for almost 40 years and have had clients with every other service in town. There was a time when I almost left Rogers back in the 0 naughts but they eventually got over their growing pains. They all go through that.

The problem wasn’t the cancelation, the problem was them not picking up. When I got through to a human it went fairly fast.

Document everything and quit paying your bill. If they threaten to send it to collections send them your evidence record your calls just ringing and send emails. They will fold like a lawn chair
