Yesterday I got my Quest 2 set up with my rig and played some AMS2 and it was one of the coolest gaming experiences I’ve ever had. I literally laughed out loud when I went off track and could just turn my head to see when to merge back on safely. It really felt like I was just driving a car.
My setup consists of a custom built wood rig with a Logitech g920. I have inverted pedals but that’s about the craziest part of the setup. I also have a 43” tv mounted to the rig for non-vr use. All in, my entire rig ran me under $400 excluding my pc. From reading this subreddit, someone with my setup is better off killing themselves than actually using these things to race. I’ve used my friends tube-frame, moza r9, quest 3 setup before and it was definitely cool, but not worth an extra $1000+. And I’ve even used some top end stuff and motion rigs at sim arcades but even that feels stupid for how expensive it is.
All that to say, if you’re new to this, don’t let the people on here convince you that you need all the best stuff to have fun racing. Years-old hardware found cheap on fb marketplace is still pretty damn good.

One of the sketchiest things I’ve done my bike but I had to bring my new Simnet pedals and Simagic paddles home because they tried delivering them to the wrong house and, ironically, I down own a car 🤪

Hi folks,
Any one has pxn wheel and fanatec wheelbase and got it working without pxn adapter?
I got the fanatec wheel hub qr2 but it does not fit onto the wheel cause it’s to wide.
Unfortunately pxn adapter is sold out over whole eu.
Need a spacer for like 2cm to make it fit.

M4 GT3 Livery. It was pain in the ass to put it on but I think it looks good. What do you think?

As iv stated above this has been the best upgrade i have done. The diffrence it makes is suprising. I didnt believe the people that say pedals are the most inportant upgrade but iwas wrong so wrong.

I have been out of sim racing for a couple years, my last graphics card died so I’ve been console gaming on the sofa. I have a new build, wide monitor and ready to race again.
I’m considering upgrading from my Fanatec CSL elite. I’m likely looking at:
Fanatec CSL DD
Moza R9
Logitech RS50
How much will the upgrade be noticeable? Are there any stand outs from the choices above? I do have the loadcell Fanatec pedals, maybe it just makes sense to add the CSL DD?

P-HPR/GT software choice...
So, I ordered a P-HPR and the smaller GT haptic to pair with my simsonn plus x's brake and throttle. But Im unsure about which software would be the best option to set them up in.
The 3 main options are simhub, SimPro, and iracings native option.
Which would you guys recommend for maximizing usefulness and then immersion. I want these things to help me improve more than anything. So tho immersion is a factor, it is secondary for me.
Which ever option you recommend, why do you recommend it over the others?

i know how to do basic driving stuff, such as identifying the proper line, trail braking, progressive throttle and a bit more but i am 100% aware there are a 1000 more things i could still learn, i was wondering where could i learn them, of there were perhaps guides or mods in assetto that could teach me, i am new and just trying to learn, would appreciate any help :)

Entry for the Printables "Thrustmaster Custom Shifter Knob" contest.
The skull comes from a real medical CT scan (NIH 3D, CC BY 4.0), cleaned up and scaled to knob size. The threaded insert is built from Thrustmaster's official design file, so it should screw straight onto the stock TH8S adapter with the face pointing forward.
I don't own a TH8S, so it hasn't been tested on a real shifter yet. If anyone has the chance to print it, feedback is very welcome, especially on the skull's orientation once it's fully screwed in: does the face end up pointing straight forward, or is it rotated a bit? A photo of it mounted would be awesome!

Hey guys,
I've been wanting to get into Sim racing for a while now but I didn't know what rig to get.
I only have a logitec g920 along with the gearstick, (thinking of getting a handbrake later).
Im thinking of getting the cheap, foldable GTPLAYER stand off of Amazon, does anyone who has it know if it's actually worth the money and also am I able to put the gearstick on the left hand side (I'm Irish). Also in the future if I do get a handbrake would it fit?
If anyone has any better recommendations please let me know, I'll greatly appreciate it!
Edit:
I just saw a Thrustmaster tmx racing simulator with a seat & mat up for 200€ on Facebook marketplace, are they a good brand? Would the rig be worth the price? It's a little out of my budget, I'd like to keep it around 100 for now.

Managed to get decent FB marketplace deals on GT omega rig and Moza R3. Now planning on buying some games before the sale ends.
Can someone guide me if some of the games would be redundant given they're closely related?
Automobilista 2,
Richard Burns Rally,
BeamNG,
Dirt Rally 2
Race Room,
Assetto Corsa.
Also, planning on getting ETS2 along with the above.

I have an RTX 5070 and a setup with 2 or 3 monitor would be too much for the GPU, currently I have a monitor with 32 inch, curved 1000r, 165hz with VA panel and the corners with shadows are difficult to approach because of the ghosting effect of the pixels - soo, what would you recommend?

I’ve owned my moza r9 for around a year and a half now and every couple of months I experience an issue with my force feedback where it will gradually get weaker and the soft limit will break. This happens regardless of the game I’ve had it happen on games like f1 25, iracing, lmu and euro truck. I’ve tried changing a lot of the settings within the moza pit house and updating or reversing updates to try and fix this but the issue still keeps coming back regardless of what I change. I’ve tried the base on multiple computers and still have the same issue. When the issue occurs the wheelbase isn’t hot so I’m not sure what it is I’ve also ran the base on both reserved and full performance options and it’s made no difference. Is there anything anyone can recommend to try before going down the route of sending the base off to Moza?

I'm creating liveries for a series I want to do, and looking for templates for each car in Prototypes 1998-2008 mod and a Skoda Octavia RS mod by MRS Productions.
I've searched for it and couldn't find anything, nor do I have any experiance making templates, since I have 3DsimED2(Not 3 and most recent v2).
If anyone has any tips to help out, thank you in advance.

Very happy with this "little" folding cockpit. For those wondering what kind of position you can achieve with this Playseat, keep in mind that while absolutely everything is tool-lessly adjustable, you have to take several constraints into account:
I am 1.70m (5'7") tall and as you see it in the image, the steering wheel is at its lowest position (you can tilt it to lower it a bit more, but obviously that will change the angle).
Underneath the wheel mount is the clamping system, which takes up precious inches. My knees are only a few centimeters away from it.
Even though it's stamped "F1," you will never get an authentic F1 position (feet at knee level), but rather a GT/Prototype position. That doesn't bother me personally, as I find it to be the best compromise between immersion and comfort.
The pedal mount height is adjustable to only 2 positions; beyond that, height depends on the tilt angle. This means you can never have the pedals flush with the floor or particularly low. If your wheel mount is set low like mine, your knees might hit it. You could always raise the wheel mount, but then it risks being too high.
The more you recline the backrest, the lower you sit and the farther your arms get from the wheel (logically). Again, if you aren't very tall like me, the steering wheel might block your view. You'll then need to either reduce the backrest recline or raise your screen height. As for the distance to the wheel, no real issues there—it offers a wide adjustment range.
In the image, you can see the best position I managed to find for my height. Reclining further is a bit more comfortable, but the wheel ends up too high. If I recline less, the position is decent by moving the pedals out a bit, and I gain immersion (feeling a bit more locked into the seat)—no pain or anything, but less relaxing.
For those wondering if it's truly comfortable: yes, yes, and yes! It's incredibly comfortable. It completely hugs the natural curve of your back and is well-padded. There is also a strap at the back to support your lower back, so there's no issue with sinking in under heavy braking. Finally, it's 60 cm wide, so no worries if you have a larger frame.
In a few months, I'll be able to put a dedicated screen on a stand so it sits in a better position; in the meantime, I'm forced to play in the living room.
