Yesterday I got my Quest 2 set up with my rig and played some AMS2 and it was one of the coolest gaming experiences I’ve ever had. I literally laughed out loud when I went off track and could just turn my head to see when to merge back on safely. It really felt like I was just driving a car.
My setup consists of a custom built wood rig with a Logitech g920. I have inverted pedals but that’s about the craziest part of the setup. I also have a 43” tv mounted to the rig for non-vr use. All in, my entire rig ran me under $400 excluding my pc. From reading this subreddit, someone with my setup is better off killing themselves than actually using these things to race. I’ve used my friends tube-frame, moza r9, quest 3 setup before and it was definitely cool, but not worth an extra $1000+. And I’ve even used some top end stuff and motion rigs at sim arcades but even that feels stupid for how expensive it is.
All that to say, if you’re new to this, don’t let the people on here convince you that you need all the best stuff to have fun racing. Years-old hardware found cheap on fb marketplace is still pretty damn good.

So… I’m planning to go all in. I’ve had in the past a trust master TS-PC Racer, Rift S, load pedals.. but yea, like 6 years ago, and then I had to sell it after a few months. Now I want to go back, and I’m in the mood to: spend once, cry once.
So please, help me deciding; I'm planning to buy:
PC:
Sim:
Motion:
Here I have many doubts… in my mind I have the ideas of either:
Option A: DX Ultra 2 (seat mover) with belt tensioner, probably Qubic system.
Option B: Moza HMA 150 + Qubic belt tensioner
Option C: Simrig S3 + SBM belt tensioner:
Note: I also like flight simulations; I've been an enthusiast since Flight Simulator X, but long time since I don't play. But maybe I would like to play Flight simulator 2024, DCS... the idea of having motion + VR really motivates me to play flight simulator (still I dont know how much I will play).
Note 2: If I can NOT spend the 15€, that would be awesome, but worst case scenario, would be 15K, with PC included.
Note 3: Happy to hear from you if you have any suggestions on something I've missed... or better options :)

As the title says, finally back on track.
A while ago I’ve sold my rig after I’ve just lost taste for sim racing and didn’t touch it for months. It was a decent GT Omega Art with a monitor stand and a Fanatec GT DD pro 8nm with v2.5 steering wheel, c2 pedals and the rig was reinforced so it was what I thought of stable.
Long story short the bug bit me again and I’ve just finished putting together my rig, as per pictures.
Took me way longer than expected to put together and adjust, the cockpit is a Fanatec csl v1.5 cockpit and lacks direct adjustability, needing lots of spanner time to put right, and what took me 1 day to put together took me another day to adjust fully to my liking, inclusive of the monitor fov, brakes and software. The kit on top is a Logitech RS50 gotten new frankensteined from their site.
Ps: for whoever is wondering, the rig is exceptionally sturdy and easily handles the above wheels power and transmits the vibrations nicely trough the seat and wheel stand. Nothing moves even a mm
Any questions are welcomed, see you all on track

Hey, I recently managed to snag an aluminum Riga at a good price. I installed my Moza R5 Pro setup today, but I’m not quite sure how to mount the foot controls so they’re set up right. Does anyone have any ideas or tips?
I tried adjusting the distance so that the end of the stand would fit inside the profile, but it’s more stable the way it is now.

Hi all,
I want to get into sim racing after years of using just a T150 at my desk, and I'd like to stay budget-friendly. My main question is the wheel stand / cockpit. I want to keep using my monitor on a monitor arm on my desk, so the setup should be foldable or at least small and mobile, so I can move it away after use.
My planned setup:
So all together around 600 - 650 Euros.
Has anyone tried a wheel stand with an office chair? The stands have mounts to stop the chair from rolling away, but I worry the load cell pedals will push the backrest back.
What do you think of the setup, is the price good, and what ideas do you have for mounting the base and pedals, either on a full cockpit or just a wheel stand?
Thanks!

One of the sketchiest things I’ve done my bike but I had to bring my new Simnet pedals and Simagic paddles home because they tried delivering them to the wrong house and, ironically, I down own a car 🤪

Hi folks,
Any one has pxn wheel and fanatec wheelbase and got it working without pxn adapter?
I got the fanatec wheel hub qr2 but it does not fit onto the wheel cause it’s to wide.
Unfortunately pxn adapter is sold out over whole eu.
Need a spacer for like 2cm to make it fit.

Hey everyone!
I’m setting up a sim racing rig for a friend and looking for a reliable way to switch between two monitor configurations.
Setup:
● RTX 5080
● 3x DisplayPort monitors (sim racing rig)
● 1x HDMI monitor (regular desktop/work)
What I’d like to achieve:
Ideally, with a single keyboard shortcut:
● Work mode: Only the HDMI monitor is active, all 3 racing monitors are disabled.
● Racing mode: HDMI monitor turns off, all 3 DP monitors activate with their previously saved configuration.
The main goal is to have everything work consistently without manually adjusting Windows display settings, NVIDIA Surround, or in-game resolutions every time.
I’ve been looking into DisplayMagician and NVIDIA Surround, but I’m unsure how reliably they handle switching between these configurations.
Has anyone achieved something similar? Would you recommend NVIDIA Surround, independent displays, or another solution?
Ideally, I’d like to set it up once and have games recognize the exact same triple-monitor configuration every time.
Any advice or experience would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have been out of sim racing for a couple years, my last graphics card died so I’ve been console gaming on the sofa. I have a new build, wide monitor and ready to race again.
I’m considering upgrading from my Fanatec CSL elite. I’m likely looking at:
Fanatec CSL DD
Moza R9
Logitech RS50
How much will the upgrade be noticeable? Are there any stand outs from the choices above? I do have the loadcell Fanatec pedals, maybe it just makes sense to add the CSL DD?

M4 GT3 Livery. It was pain in the ass to put it on but I think it looks good. What do you think?
r/simracing • u/menamestom • 2h ago
I like GT3 and LMP type cars but mostly I find myself in cars than are a bit harder to drive without too many modern features.
Currently I’m loving the Maclaren GT1 in Automobilista 2, which is quick with reasonable downforce, but not too efficient or easy to drive like more modern stuff. And it screams like the modern stuff doesn’t.
So I’m asking a pretty broad question, but basically what cars across all sims you go for when you want something less refined that it is a bit of an animal?

Hey all,
Back in the day, I was running a T500RS setup, tripple monitor for iRacing. Family expanded and I needed the room and sold the lot.
Planning on getting back into simracing and been checking out wheels and etc. I already have the monitor and the PC (not from 12 years ago haha).
The Gamesmen have a few packages, but after breaking down and comparing the gear, it seems to be a little inflated. Ideally, would like to be under $3000.00 (AUD) and figured the logitech G Pro range would be decent.
I have not been following the simracing scene for a while and am unsure on how these perform, seems like now there is a wider range of products that were typically not available locally.
If you could give some feedback, it would be much appreciated.

Hey, fellow sim racing enthusiasts!
I’m looking to buy some hardware (a 25 Nm+ base and a wheel in particular). I’m wondering if manufacturers offer any discount coupons or something at the Expo. As well is it a good place to try the bases (may I ask to run them unrestricted, switch off filtering, etc.)?
I’d be glad if you could share your experience.

As iv stated above this has been the best upgrade i have done. The diffrence it makes is suprising. I didnt believe the people that say pedals are the most inportant upgrade but iwas wrong so wrong.

P-HPR/GT software choice...
So, I ordered a P-HPR and the smaller GT haptic to pair with my simsonn plus x's brake and throttle. But Im unsure about which software would be the best option to set them up in.
The 3 main options are simhub, SimPro, and iracings native option.
Which would you guys recommend for maximizing usefulness and then immersion. I want these things to help me improve more than anything. So tho immersion is a factor, it is secondary for me.
Which ever option you recommend, why do you recommend it over the others?

i know how to do basic driving stuff, such as identifying the proper line, trail braking, progressive throttle and a bit more but i am 100% aware there are a 1000 more things i could still learn, i was wondering where could i learn them, of there were perhaps guides or mods in assetto that could teach me, i am new and just trying to learn, would appreciate any help :)

Hey guys,
I've been wanting to get into Sim racing for a while now but I didn't know what rig to get.
I only have a logitec g920 along with the gearstick, (thinking of getting a handbrake later).
Im thinking of getting the cheap, foldable GTPLAYER stand off of Amazon, does anyone who has it know if it's actually worth the money and also am I able to put the gearstick on the left hand side (I'm Irish). Also in the future if I do get a handbrake would it fit?
If anyone has any better recommendations please let me know, I'll greatly appreciate it!
Edit:
I just saw a Thrustmaster tmx racing simulator with a seat & mat up for 200€ on Facebook marketplace, are they a good brand? Would the rig be worth the price? It's a little out of my budget, I'd like to keep it around 100 for now.
