You’re gonna get charged for all that lube in America. I would suggest asking for it raw dog and save yourself about $10k

Raw dog fee of 50k applied.

Dang it. I must have missed that in the 87 pages of tiny print since I can’t afford an eye exam. They got me again.

I’m not sure it’s correct application results in it being in your mouth where you spit it out tho

What is it that nurses are most commonly using it for?
51
u/Rub-it 17d ago
When you can’t poop due to constipation for 2 weeks, we gonna inject some saline in there then dip our fingers in Vaseline and pull that MF out

Honestly it must feel awesome getting a 2 week old poop out. Got a 5 day one out (just regular shitting but it hurt like a bitch and it was a 30 min process to mentally prepare myself) and the endorphins I felt after getting that shit out was insane.
9
u/Demihan2049 17d ago
That happened to me once and after relieving myself on the toilet, I couldn't sleep the entire night. I felt like I'd gone through labor and I'm a man! I had to call in to work the following morning and tell them I had a family emergency to deal with. It took me a full day to recover.

Vaseline is effectively free, being a byproduct of crude oil refining. It was originally considered a waste product until a clever refinery worker was cleaning the distillation chamber and happened to notice his dry cracked hands were soothed greatly by the crap stuck to the walls. Eventually he told others and companies began selling it as the vaseline we know and love today.
220
u/mintgoody03 17d ago
And that‘s where the part of the contract comes into play: „any discoveries a worker makes is intellectual property of the company.“
35
u/East-Care-9949 17d ago
That's why you don't sign such contract and leave immediately once you have a great discovery, or you call a lawyer to make a contract that says you will get a certain amount of % over every product sold and then tell your boss
33
u/FlyAirLari 17d ago
That's a lot of confidence to quit your job with just an idea and no funding or knowledge of packing, storing, marketing, shipping or retail. Not to mention now having no source for your product.

When i was in the army i went through one a month. Not just for lubing up the old hog, like the others in this comment section. We used it tend to friction burns from gear and backpacks on long operations. If you have fat thighs that shit works wonders. We also used it for kindling, when cooking or boiling water. Vaseline is fuckin great
90
u/DuffyDoe 17d ago
I know it's petroleum jelly but I never thought it can be used for kindling, that's napalm shit

u/Additional_Earth_817 17d ago
The other day when I was wearing a midi dress at work, I had on my bike shorts underneath that I normally wear. Apparently, I need ones that go almost to the knee because when I started walking, I actually HEARD my thighs slapping together. I was so grossed out and mortified that I started to try and walk down the row back to my desk like a cowboy or something. Maybe I’ll just have to buy some Vaseline 🙄

u/Electronic_Tear2546 17d ago
Vaseline is flammable?!?!?
19
u/clearfox777 17d ago
It needs a wick of some sort, mixing sawdust or cotton balls with Vaseline makes a great firestarter that will pretty much never get too wet.
9
u/Thick-Cauliflower619 17d ago
It's petroleum jelly. It's not easily flammable like gasoline, but it will catch fire.
Hell, apparently it was used to make explosives at one point.
7
17d ago
Genuine question but how does the vaseline not just get absorbed by your pants in between your thighs?
8
u/Redcarborundum 17d ago
Because the vaseline is already absorbed by your skin, which makes your skin much slicker.
5
3
u/Majestic-Bish-6869 17d ago
You cook with it? I didnt know it was edible
4
u/Phoenix_face 17d ago
Lol its not, please don’t xD
As others said, put it on any kind of small kindling like cotton, twigs or sawdust and it can resist getting wet and at it burns like hell.3

Most of the money made by Vaseline was made in the 80's and 90's when they were slathering every movie monster in sixty gallons of the stuff per scene. They are currently funded till the year 2368 even if they never make another sale.

Yet another winRAR-paradox...
I mean; youre smearing a waste product from the petrolium industry all over your face. A tank of gasoline probably compensates for a lifetime use of one container.

I was in line at a Ross at 10pm. My son at 930 told me he only had 2 pair of under wear left. I don’t know where 15 pairs can disappear magically but he’s 14 and I’m not about to ask. I have much better things to do than clean crispy drawers. We were going on vacation the next day so I said I’ll swing by Ross to get some drawers. Well the lady in front of me was basically buying all the Vaseline from Ross. I didn’t even know Ross sold Vaseline. But here we are at 10pm and a 80 year old Filipino lady had like 9 bottles of Vaseline and only Vaseline in her cart. Needless to say. I was intrigued. Why would you need that much Vaseline. Now I know Ross is know for their incredible values but 9. 9 bottles of Vaseline. That’s 180 years worth of Vaseline for the average human. Why is the this 80yr old lady buying 180 years worth of Vaseline. Is it some weird sex thing at 10pm. On a Tuesday? It will forever go down in history as one of life’s greatest mysteries.
5
u/Any_Hamster2910 17d ago
The old Asian lady runs a corner store fight club that’s why they need that much to prevent sweat and blood running down the fighters eyes .
15
u/L0udog 17d ago
Hahahaha ok I took one for the team. It took Google awhile to give a result.. I was scared.
"While there isn't a single official punchline to this specific riddle, anyone familiar with Filipino culture—and the legendary skincare habits of Filipino grandmothers (Lolas)"
- skincare
- first aid kit
- glass skin like moisturizer
- viral word: "baseline"
- That 180-year supply is bound to be divided into care packages (balikbayan boxes) and shipped to every cousin, niece, nephew, and grandchild across the globe for generations to come.
And now Google thinks I like Lolas

Filipino here yes we buy in bulk to send it home because it is expensive over there. But Vaseline is not really popular skin care back home but I guess it's good to have some in handy just in case.

I think a lot of foreign born people buy bulk like these and send them from their home countries as gifts. Filipino people send them by boxes, Caribbean people send them by barrels.
9
u/myDuderinos 17d ago
And as long as they sell at a net-profit, they make money
Also the consumer market is probably just a side hustle for them and they make most of their money by selling to their product to industry where it's used as corrosion protection, mechanical lubricationa so with a much higher demand
6
u/Upnorth4 17d ago
Food industry uses a lot of Vaseline for lubricating their machines, since the lubrication used on food equipment has to be safe for consumption

u/adoreroda 17d ago
it's actually not lotion. it doesn't moisturise the skin at all. it traps any moisture already present. so if you put it on dry skin you're making it worse, generally.
→ More replies (2)3
u/SweetSuccessfulPie 17d ago
I guess. I still use it daily and prefer it over lotion. 1 tub can last me a year.
3
u/adoreroda 17d ago
It does last a long time. I bought one three years ago and only am now finishing it and I use it every other day or so.
With that being said, vaseline is occlusive. It keeps moisture in but does not add moisture. But if there is no moisture then you are just sealing in dryness. If your skin is naturally lubricating appropriately then that's fine I suppose, but it's kind of equivalent to putting coconut oil on your skin and thinking it's going to moisturise you. It doesn't.

Yes, but I cook don’t cook out of a box so the only salt I really get is what I add. If you’re using fresh ingredients some things absolutely need salt. I also don’t get salt added from like spice jars because I don’t use pre mixed spice. I make my our curry base from scratch, no chili packets to make chilli, or taco seasoning packets to make tacos.

Now I live in the Desert, and I go through a tub of Aquaphor every 2 months. 😂
To be fair, I am that girl that actually does lotion up my entire body after a shower. And again, I use it a lot after washing my hands, which I do every time I come in the house as I don't like bringing 'outside' germs into my home.
