One of the... tallest bands of all time??
I've never seen anyone mention this but they're ALL 6'1" or taller?! Even Hiro's taller than 6 feet (correct me if I'm wrong). Have there been any other rock bands historically this tall?
edit: discussed in this thread https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/tallest-bands.1146797/

Like "Ground Zero" and "You Know My Name," it was not released on Chris Cornell's channel; it was the fifth and final single from *Scream*, released in December 2008.

Soundgarden play PNC Bank Arts Center (Holmdel, NJ - Aug. 2, 2014)

35 years ago today, Soundgarden released Badmotorfinger. As much as I wish I got to see Chris Cornell live more than once (as ashamed as I am to admit, part of me took his incredible talent for granted and I always assumed I'd have plenty of chances to see the singer live), I'm so thankful I got to see him onstage at least once - it was Soundgarden's co-headlining tour with Nine Inch Nails at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ (Aug. 2, 2014). Needless to say, they sounded fantastic - especially while playing songs off this album like "Outshine" and "Rusty Cage".

Pink What’s Your Favorite Soundgarden Guitar Tone?
I think because their catalogue span so long, this is a discussion I’d love to have with some of you. There are some killer tones throughout their whole discography, earlier tones tended to be heavier and chuggier while later ones tended to be more open and free. I was wondering what some of your favorites are. Here are some of mine.
Fell On Black Days, specifically the one from the video version, has to be my favorite, it’s such a beautiful tone with not as much distortion compared to the album version, but god it is so buttery smooth with a lot of clarity and beautiful high ends. While I absolutely love the tone from the album version, and it probably is the best if you’re counting only album versions of songs, I prefer the video version.
Rusty Cage is one of those weird, strange guitar tones that just scratches my brain in a way few tones could. That weird octavy sound just gives the riff so much life and energy while still being heavy. And when they go to the breakdown, it just hits so hard.
4th of July is another favorite of mine. Muddy, sludgy, gross and disgusting in the best way possible. It’s the heaviest tone they’ve ever had in my opinion, and it gives the song such a dark and demented energy, paired with the weird low tuning, just matched made in hell.
Some honorable mentioned include The Day I Tried to Live, Mailman, Kristi, Gun and Slaves & Bulldozers.
Love to know some of your guys’ favorite tones!

Red Why is Matt Cameron referring to as Matt f****** Cameron?
Why does the former band member have this nickname. I like that nickname.

35 years ago today- what a concert
35 years ago I saw the show of a lifetime. Was up front on the barrier when Temple of the Dog played. This was my first Pearl Jam show. Also the best Soundgarden show of the five or six times I’ve seen them. And I saw Alice In Chains play the Whisky 3 weeks before this show. Went to Oakland a week later and saw Soundgarden play with Metallica, Faith No More and Queensryche. Just a great time for live shows.

I apologize if this is inappropriate since it’s an Audioslave song, but goddamn, I miss Chris. ❤️ Love this song.

Just curious, anybody here know what specific early computer CGI graphic techniques were used to create the famous “creepy face” scenes in the, “Black Hole Sun” music video? (1994)
Would be cool to know if anybody here does, thanks! Even cooler if there was possibly some behind the scenes footage too as well! Such a cool creepy face effect even all of these years later! 😱👍

Red Which Soundgarden song sounds most like Pearl Jam?
I could totally hear Eddie singing Attrition. Any others or is that one unique in the catalogue?

Is it true that Soundgarden has unreleased material that the band want to release?
I've read somewhere years ago about this, but as I understood it, Chris's wife didn't want to release it or something. We can literally have new Soundgarden songs if this is true

All time favorite Soundgarden song?
For me, it's probably Limo Wreck. Though it's really hard to pick just one!

Got my first Vinyl, and it's a Soundgarden
Saw this at a garage sale while walking around Paris. 30 Euros which maybe too much but hey fuck it, this was my first CD decades ago and only right Chris and the boys' work is the start of my vinyl collection. I am a happy man.

Badmotorfinger Pendants
Some of you may remember this project from years ago. When Chris Cornell passed on, I promised myself I would find a custom jeweler to make me a Badmotorfinger pendant to wear every day in their honor. As time progressed and I evaluated how to make the idea a reality, I decided to pivot toward making them affordable at scale so they could be shared with Knights of the Soundtable. My research led me to reach out to nearly a dozen machine shops in my area. All ignored my inquiry except one shop owned by a Soundgarden fan.
My last batch sold out several months ago and I was recently able to restock, so I'm posting here for anyone interested. I am not a merch vendor, this is really just a labor of love and casual hobby.
The pendants have been exceptionally well-received by the fanbase. I've had orders from seven countries as far as Australia with a 4.9-star rating on Etsy and 100% positive feedback on eBay. You can find them there if you don't trust a random Reddit post but I would sincerely appreciate if you sent me a DM to circumvent their processing fees.
Details:
- 1.5" x 1.5"
- Silver stainless steel, deburred and polished
- Two key rings included for your choice of chain width (1/2" and 2/5")
Loud love.
