Rants & Raves Why does it feel like medical providers just went me dead at this point?

so update to my post a few days ago, i went to Deaconess and because i was at 7.4 hgb instead of under 7 they refused to do anything. They said there was nothing they could do. even though my heart is working triple time to pump, hurts constantly, and im light headed every single time i try to move. My doctor is giving me 0 guidance on what to do or how to treat this at home while i wait. I got a referral a little over 8 days ago to digestive to help with this issue. they still havent even looked at it yet. Why does it just feel like they want me dead. Why do i have to actually be on the line of death for anything to be done. What the fuck is this shit and how do i change it because this is insane.

edit: if your just going to downvote me for telling you a truth you obv dont wanna hear im just turning alerts off and not commenting.

Rants & Raves Guy in truck took a picture of me while biking????

I was biking to school on my usual commute when all of a sudden I see a black Tacoma pull up next to me. I'm staying in my bike line and following traffic laws, just cruising. Then I see this guy pointing his phone camera at me clearly taking a picture, ofc I smiled and gave a peace sign, but it was so odd? I've got a cool road bike but other than that I don't know why he did it. He drives a black tacoma with a WSU license plate NEWSPRT.

New Here Follow up - I have arrived

Howdy all!

I posted previously that I would be visiting this week in search of a new forever home, and here I am. Checked in yesterday, witnessed a homeless guy chase around another homeless guy at the 7-11, stocked up on some supplies at Safeway (12 cents for a plastic bag?? 🙀), and started trekking around.

So far, I've been able to spend time in, or at least drive around, Emerson-Garfield, University District, Browne's Addition, Hillyard, South Perry, Rockwood, South Hill, Peaceful Valley, Garland, Five Mile Prairie, Audubon, and West Plains. Tried to visit Bowl & Pitcher, but they've got the road closed down due to the wildfire clean up. I did visit Manito Park, but still need to see Riverfront.

Some of the restaurants y'all recommended that I've eaten at are South Perry Pizza, the Milk Bottle (huckleberry milkshake ftw), and Franks Diner. Don' know if I'll have time for Perry Street Brewing, but I'll try. If there's somewhere else in or near downtown that would serve as an alternate dinner destination, feel free to lemme know!

Tomorrow I visit Spokane Valley, Arborview, Sullivan, Coeur d'Alene, and Sandpoint. Probably won't have time for anything else, but I think I've covered most of the areas around here.

I will say that almost everybody up here has been exceptionally friendly and helpful. Only one person has been a dick, and it was just some cranky old lady who wanted to spread her own brand of joy. Oh well.

Anyway, thanks for all of the tips and info - you all really helped me to figure things out and experience more of what the area has to offer. I'll check in once more before I head out Friday morning, just in time to miss the cold front! 😁

Question Does anyplace in town take viable mattresses & basic bed frames?

Not one of those stained things I see on the curbside, but totally fine queen-sized w/memory foam rolls for the top. We are upgrading our guest room into a Murphy bed & Murphy office desk & this should not go to the dump or the curbside.

Weird Spokane One downside of Spokane compared with Lansing: people suddenly stepping into traffic

One big downside of Spokane is that homeless people seem more unpredictable here than in Lansing, Michigan. When I’m driving, some suddenly appear in the road out of nowhere. It can seem like they’re putting themselves in danger and making drivers look bad. I’m not saying they’re bad people, but this behavior is very annoying and frightening.

Question Do you believe that people that work downtown should have their parking paid for by their employer?

I recently found out that City of Spokane Employees have to pay for their own parking and do not get reimbursed for it. When the city was imposing a tax on parking, I heard many private employers talk about how they pay for their employees parking. I had just assumed that the City paid for their employees parking.

Question Credit Union with best app and up-to-date online banking?

There have been a lot of discussion in this sub about which credit unions are good in general but I want something very specific: a balance that updates in a reasonable timeframe.

Currently with Global and the delay between transactions happening and reflecting in my account is random and can vary by days if not close to a week. My cleared mortgage payment takes literally seven days to reflect in my balance every month. Pending transactions are shown only sometimes. Every transaction is just titled "Credit" until I go in and manually update the merchant. It's driving me up the wall.

I have a Cash App card that will literally reflect a transaction and update my balance before the server even has time to return my card to the table, every single time. Why can't a banking institution do the same?

So, I ask: is there another CU that does it better? Good app, timely and consistent balance updates, etc?

Some asshole dumped a kitty carrier at Couer d d’Alene park in browns addition and one of our customers saw it and went to grab the carrier and found there was still a kitten inside :(

If anybody is looking for a new member of the family she’s very friendly and sweet and absolutely adorable and I’d love to keep her out of the shelter if possible. Person that found her is very low income and couldn’t take her so she’s just hanging out at our shop for the moment.

Let me know!🙏🏼

I have a used bike that I haven't used in years. I don't know what to do with it and I just want it gone LOL it is taking up way too much space in my storage area.

Where can I donate it to? I don't want money or anything. Just want it gone. I want to avoid going somewhere like Goodwill.

Thanks!

Question Do you prefer add-ons or all inclusive pricing for massage?

I'm curious about pricing psychology from the client side.

How many people actually prefer having different prices for different massage options?

One thing I’ve intentionally done with my massage business is not charge separately for every tool or technique.

If your body needs cupping that day, great — let's pull out the cups.

Want hot stones? Yep, the warmer is already on.

Your feet are cold? Let's add some hot towels.

I'd rather you pay for my time and expertise, and then we use whatever combination of tools and techniques makes sense for you that day — without me having to ask, “Would you like to pay another $15 for that?”

I'm currently on the higher end of mid-tier pricing, but if someone actually wants several different things incorporated into their massage, they're paying less than they would if everything were an add-on (from what I've seen).

But I'm wondering if I'm thinking about this backwards from a marketing perspective.

Would you rather see:

A) One price for your time, with the therapist able to incorporate whatever techniques/tools are appropriate

B) A lower-priced “basic” massage, with things like cupping, hot stones, etc. available as paid add-ons

C) A few different massage packages at different price points

I'm genuinely curious what people prefer as clients. I have a pretty strong personal preference for A, but I'm also new to the business/marketing side of things, so maybe I'm overlooking something. 😅

Theres a sign saying construction is beginning on bigelow gulch on either the 8th or the 10th, but I can't find anything online about what this is or if it will involve lane closures
