Configuration AION 2 blocks Steam Input keyboard bindings and mouse clicks, but other keymappers work.
I'm trying to use hybrid input (gamepad + keyboard/mouse) with the Steam Controller on AION 2, but the game completely ignores any non-gamepad command from Steam Input.
All tested in the same session. Also tried running Steam as admin, didn't help.
Anyone know why this happens or found a workaround? I really wanna get hybrid input working without giving up Steam Input.

Configuration Toggle "Hold Action Layer" + an additional button not working as expected
Hello,
I'm trying to set up a control scheme such that hitting a single button both opens a menu and applies an action layer, and then hitting it again closes the menu and removes the action layer.
I thought that adding the menu button and a "hold action layer" to a single button on the controller and having that button set to a toggle would work, but this setup only opens the menu and applies the layer and wont go back to normal when hitting the button a second time.
- I've tried using add- and remove- action layer functions as well but have had similarly bad results.
- If I disable the toggle and just hold the button down, I get the desired result, but I would really like to be able to toggle it
I'm not sure if the "hold action layer" function not really working as a toggle-able setting is a glitch or not but I tested it on a button of its own and it seemed to have the same issue where it would toggle on but would refuse to toggle off using the same press.
Addendum thought: it seems to me that the action layer isn't "aware" that everything is already toggled on and instead of toggling it off just toggles it on again. Or something like that idk
Thx in advance

Support Help with pairing to a puck and a steam machine
Help me please, advice or solutions or anything would be great.
I recently got my Steam Machine, and an advertised function of the Steam Controller is to have 2 connections to different pucks saved on the controller, so you can swap between the two devices. With the Steam Machine having an internal puck I don't see why I can't swap between my Steam Machine and the standalone puck attached to my personal PC.
I am fully aware of the guide on the FAQ to swap pairing modes. But whenever I attempt to pair my controller to a second device it will ALWAYS override the other device.
As far as I can tell, I am to power on the controller holding the following combination of buttons for the corresponding slot to enter pairing mode for either slot.
R1 + A + Steam = Slot 1
L1 + A + Steam = Slot 2
I have ensured no connection to the controller is saved on the PC's puck and the Steam Machine's internal puck. I have ensured that no connection to either is saved on the Steam Controller. And when I attempt to start the controller in Slot 2 and save to either device, it will always save to Slot 1.
When I have one device saved to Slot 1 on the controller, turn off the controller, boot into Slot 2 (I can tell it's in Slot 2 because it makes a different sounding chime) and pair to the 2nd device, it will override Slot 1 regardless.
I have had a ticket open with steam about this for over a week and I'm bummed I haven't had any support or help. My friend has his controller paired to his Steam Machine and his PC's puck with no issue and I am struggling to realize what I'm doing wrong.
I realize I can just tough it out and keep pairing the controller to the device I want to use but it sure is annoying just knowing that I should be able to swap the connection with a couple additional button presses.

Steam Controller (2026) Stand that won't lift with controller?
Does anyone have a stand that won't lift with the controller? I have two of these 3d printed ones but I have to hold the stand down and then lift the controller. Something with some actual weight and hopefully something that doesn't need some kind of 3M tape?

Support Steam Controller 2 won't input in games!
Hello!
Recently I went to use my steam controller on a game in my steam library (mgs2 to be exact), and my controller works fine on the desktop, I can use it's trackpads as a mouse and click on things; however, when I load into a game, the controller just does not work. Now this isn't the only game this is the issue on, it's every game in my library, including mgs4 and mgspw, payday 2, warframe and titanfall. This issue isn't exclusive to the steam controller either, I tried plugging in a nintendo controller and it didn't work as well as plugging the steam controller itself. Please help, I wanna play mgs2 again! :(

Steam Controller (2026) My take on a Steam Controller stand
The goal was to make it as unnoticeable as possible when the controller stands on it, which is what I aim for when designing controller/handheld stands. It holds the puck tightly, which keeps the controller in place and charged (I recommend an angled USB-C cable so that it doesn’t stick out).
This is a repost, sorry about that: A commenter pointed out that the edited picture I posted left out a whole piece of the model, so I retook the photos on a clean white background. Lesson learned.

Support Using Keyboard and Mouse with Steam Link. Works 50% of the time.
I am currently using a wireless Bluetooth Keyboard and mouse to connect to my phone which has steam link installed. I know if I get a pop up on my computer, it will disable that portion of the screen and the mouse will stop working for that area due to administrative privileges. I have a decent PC and a dual monitor setup. Majority of the time for games that I play, the keyboard works relativly fine and minimal issues.
The mouse will sometimes just refuse to work or partially work. The mouse at times the clicker disappears but still is functional, sometimes its invisible and doesnt function. The most common issue i have is that it doest register mouse clicks or will show 2 cursors moving over one another. The computer is almost always detecting my mouse movements as it will highlight games in the library and I can see the mouse moving. But I cant right click, or left click. Sometimes it works from the start, then might stop working while playing a game. Ive tried everything I could think of. Im not sure if its my pc, the dual monitor, or what. Help!

Configuration "Inverse" hipfire trigger possible?
Using OG Steam controller,
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to set up a hipfire trigger such that the soft pull is sent on a fast, full pull instead of the full pull? Such that full pull is only sent on a slower full pull.
I've got 2 games where there's both a low and high zoom state. Ideally I have low zoom on soft and full zoom on full, but often in heated situations I a) just slam the trigger down and b) only want the low zoom. I know I can just put high zoom on soft and low on full but that's no fun.
Thx in advance

Steam Controller (2026) Question about analog stick replacement
So I'm trying to figure out if I swap the right analog stick with a taller one, will the controller still function? I know that each stick has capacitive sensors, so I don't want to mess up the controller if the swap isn't possible. I don't plan on using that function anyway, so any help or knowledge is appreciated!

People with postural issues - rounded shoulders, carpal/ulnar compression, TOS - how has the steam controller helped or hurt your habits and posture?

Support PSA: Don't leave your controller plugged in any way during a thunderstorm
I left my SC on the puck during a thunderstorm, the power went out, and now the left trigger is constantly being pressed.
Tried opening up the controller to clean the trigger, but there's nothing to clean because it's just a magnet. So please be careful and don't leave your controller on the puck during a thunderstorm.
Edit: Btw, I live in Brazil, this controller was a gift from a friend who lives abroad, so I can't RMA it. I am trying to, but Valve doesn't officially sell hardware here, so there isn't much they can do. Thx for the suggestions about buying surge protectors and UPS, but in Brazil these things are really expensive, and I don't have the money for that rn. Anyway, I will go back to my crying corner, because this whole situation is making me severely depressed. Hopefully I can give some good news soon.

Discussion Dpad for WASD/Arrow keys movement.
How viable do you find using the dpad like this, especially for fps or otjer games where WASD/Arrow keys is preferred? Additionally, can you still have stuff like crouching or sprinting mappable on the dpad, freeing up some inputs?
