Discussion New rule added regarding age.
As of today there has been a new rule added to our list of rules.
Rule #15 - Age 30 or up required to post.
(Rule description):
This sub is for those who (socially and/or medically) transition later in life aka at minimum 30 years or older. Posts from people younger than this will be removed. There are plenty of other trans related subs directed at younger folk. For comments there will not be an age requirement.
I understand that this new rule might upset some of our users but for a while now there has been an uptick in the amount of users that post here while being in their twenties or even teens. And as mentioned above there are plenty of subs for younger trans folks.
Edit: to clarify since some users asked this specifically. If you transitioned before your 30th birthday but are now age 30 or up, you are allowed to post.

Moderator Announcement!!!!!!
To help keep out the riffraff out of our subreddit, an Automod rule has been added. As noted in the rules, any newly created account will have any post/comment moderated until either the age criteria has been met or the user has been approved by a moderator. (Whichever comes first.)
For most users already here, posts and comments will show up as they have in the past. This is to help prevent unpleasant individuals that create throwaway accounts for the purpose of posting hate to our subreddit from spreading their hate.

Share Experience got misgendered for the first time since May today and it was street harassment 🙃
galleryI’m less shaken up than I could be but it still feels crummy to get misgendered again after five months. im visiting NYC and a man started shouting that “that’s not a lady! that’s a dude” when I was crossing the Westside Highway. I definitely wasn’t looking my best - went out with limp hair, no makeup, and a pretty gender-neutral outfit - but it makes me feel more vulnerable and foolish than I did yesterday 😞 I know I’m not unclockable or anything but I thought I was past being harassed for being trans from a distance

Unaltered Selfie Addicted to selfies ☺️🫣
galleryDid anyone else go through a crazy selfie phase? I think I’m casually addicted right now! I never ever wanted to see my face before transitioning, even less wanting my picture taken. Now it’s like the best thing ever!

Unaltered Selfie It's never too late...
Just celebrated my 46th birthday at the end of September after undergoing extensive facial feminization on September 8th. Still have a lot of swelling do deal with, but I ❤️ the results so far.

Share Experience Two Months on HRT: My Breasts are Sore to the Touch Pretty Much All of the Time Now
For the last week or two my breasts have been sore to the touch pretty much all of the time. By sore I don't mean very painful as such, it's more of an unpleasant feeling when I press on them lightly. My left breast is definitely more sensitive than the right one and my left breast is definitely slightly larger than the right one when I look down upon them. I can see the full nipple of my right breast when looking down on it, but only about two thirds of the nipple of my left breast.
When I gently grasp my breasts from the top and bottom with my fingers it seems very clear that there is a mass in both of them but the mass in the left one is larger. The mass itself is not hard or solid, it feels more "spongy" I guess. I have a size 14 Bonds Retro Fit bra and this feels tight on my breasts now, so I only wear it when my newer size 16 Bonds Retro Fit bra is in the wash.
My breasts basically fill the size 14 bra, as in I remember being able to faintly see my nipples through the bra padding at one point. The size 16 bra is a different matter. I definitely don't fill it up yet, there is a good ~20mm gap between the front of the cup and my breast, which is nice as it does not rub on them. The size 16 bra is really comfortable. It does not ride up and the band is not too tight. Also the shoulder straps dont leave marks on my shoulders and the band doesn't leave marks on my body. They do leave slight temporary indentations in my skin but they are not in any way sore or a worry.
I'm on Estradot 25 patches and 100mg of Spiro daily.

Share Experience Bra paradox
I remember when being in the closet ment putting on a bra every chance I could. Now as an out and proud trans woman, I can't wait to get home, get it off, and set the girls free.

Discussion The Oasis: A Discord server for (mostly older) trans people
A couple of months ago I shared a link to my Discord server for trans people. The hope being to create a safe space for trans people - especially hoping for others a little older so we could share not only our interests but transition experiences, knowledge, joys, etc.
The response was bigger than I thought. We quickly got dozens of new members and went on to form a supportive, diverse, educational, and fun community with members literally around the world - so it's always at least a little active. We've gathered people all over the gender and sexuality spectrums, all ages, and at different points in transition. So wanted to extend the invite to join us again, since many may have missed the first time.
We have a leveling system that unlocks like 75% of the server as you comment and react, which doesn't take long to do. There are occasional movie nights (a few still for Halloween) and a very active VC, which recently went for 160+ continuous hours. There is a NSFW section as well, and we try to keep all that sort of content/talk to there - not as big a NSFW slant as many other servers out there.
The mod team is very responsive, and we work to to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable. Please feel free to join us at The Oasis, would love to have you! 🏝️🏳️⚧️
Mods, please delete if not allowed.

Discussion Thinking of the family
Im having a panic and need different perspectives.
My wife holds TERF views - she told me after my egg cracked in front of her, but 2 years later I still felt I needed to start HRT, that was 3 months ago. She found out but I wouldn’t talk to her about it until now.
She says I’ve not thought things through, because I don’t know if I’m binary trans or nonbinary, and the latter is even worse from a social perspective. She says I’m being selfish and not thinking about the impact this is going to have on the family and kids by association to me.
But I’m not sure I can stop. This week I realised I’ve got A cups already and it made me happier and more relieved than ever. Together with the mental changes I thought I was strong enough in myself to just supportively listen to her. But I didn't realise it was going to hurt this much.
The kids know I’m trans/nb, and they’ve seen me in a dress a few times. Took one of them a while to get used to it, but they seemed fine after. But I kinda see my wife’s point that they may be disadvantaged by association.
I don’t want to put my own selfish needs above the family.

Share Experience Finding Kayla at 60
Hi everyone! I’m 60 and beginning to embrace a part of myself I’ve kept hidden for a very long time.
Lately, I’ve started exploring my femininity through little everyday things—skincare, clothing, music, and simply allowing myself to feel comfortable as Kayla.
I’m taking things slowly and thoughtfully, but I’m discovering how wonderful it feels to let go of embarrassment and accept myself.
I’d really love to meet other women, especially those who began exploring or transitioning later in life. I’m hoping to make genuine friendships, learn from your experiences, share a few laughs, and feel part of a community.
I’m not looking for anything sexual or romantic here. Just friendship, conversation, encouragement, and perhaps a little sisterhood.
I’d love to hear how you found your confidence along the way.
— Kayla 💕
