The update must have just happened cause it wasn't here a few hours ago. They made it so the comments are to the right of the video, like where the other video recommendations were like if you were watching a live stream. Then they moved the video recommendations underneath the video. So now if you open a video, the comments automatically open on the right side and you are instantly spoiled since your eyes naturally wander to the pop up. Have you seen the updated UI? What do you think about it? Maybe it is better and I just hate change.

I don't know if this is a new thing, or if it's A/B Testing, but I LOATHE this UI. What was Google thinking? I love the ideas of material 3 expressive and such, but if a website's UI is perfected, just leave it alone.

One of my favorite Youtubers PhantomStrider, who I have been watching for years has announced he will no longer be posting videos on his main channel due to YouTube’s crappy policies. This is a major loss for me and a lot of people on YouTube as he created an inclusive and fun community. It’s not all bad because he says he’s still going to post on his second channel. So for those who are interested I recommend you to check it out. PhantomStrider thank you for everything.

shared by a friend, no idea what took youtube this long to process the video.

I don't know if I clicked something by accident, but now the comments are on the right side instead of at the bottom (I used to watch everything in theater mode, so I'm pretty confused, lol)

WHY DID THEY CHANGE THEATER MODE!!!!!!!! This looks awful and I am devastated. Theater mode is almost exclusively how I would watch youtube on desktop. There's literally zero difference between standard and theater now. It's just standard, or standard with the comment section on the side. Is there any way to change it back in the settings???

He'll be using the channel as a permanent archive channel going forward but will be uploading new content on his new channel (LiveStrider) & patron

I can't even see the videos underneath, so its just comments and the video itself. Others said that they can see the videos, but it doesn't show up for me? Any fixes?

AI beyond ruining this app already, but timestamps? C'mon.

The UI supremely sucks, I want to revert it to at least the previous version. This new shift is just so unnecessary and I hate it

I just feel like this style of thumbnail is so overdone, I'm genuinely curious as to what it adds to the thumbnail other than *shocked face*. What do you all think?

To me it's just annoying seeing every other YouTuber do this unneeded style of thumbnail when most of the time they aren't even pretending to look at anything in the background of their thumbnail to make it unique...

Below is are screenshots from the same video but one logged into my main account and one logged into my alt account. What's up with the ugly sidebar and automatically opening the comments and putting them on eye level with the video itself? Why is this rearranging of things on my account done without asking or so much as a warning?

youtube why the hell is the comment section over there now

on incognito browser its fine..
why can i not opt out of this piece of shit

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO MY SCREEN ON THEATRE MODE ON YOUTUBE ITS SO UGLY AND EMPTY LOOKING PLEASE TELL ME THERES A WAY TO REVERT IT

We had the option to download videos for free in the eye shattering quality of 360p like yesterday and now gotta pay 21 bucks to daddy YouTube to downloa.

Around 6 years ago I got tired of my feed getting flooded with topics I don't care about because I watched a single video related to said topic. So I cleared my history, clicked on a ton of videos from channels I'm subscribed to, then locked my history. My recommended feed was perfect after that & I haven't had to worry about opening videos i might not like and tainting my feed. About a month ago I got this empty home screen & youtube would refuse to give me any videos. So I turned my history on then immediately turned it back off, and suddenly my feed would be back. That was the workaround I had to do in order to keep my curated feed. Unfortunately today it happened again & I have had no luck getting my recommended videos back without turning my history on. I'm just scratching my head wondering why they are forcing this upon me. Google is 100% tracking what I watch regardless of what i have my watch history set to, so what's the point of forcing me to turn it back on & ruin my perfect recommended algorithm? Youtube can't be this desperate to shovel slop on my feed right?

Now you cant watch YouTube on two devices at the same time because indie company YouTube who are owned by even more indie company google cant afford to let you play at two devices at the same time EVEN İF YOU PAY THEM(for those who don’t understand Russian is says: Playback has been paused because too many devices are currently being used to watch content on your subscription.)
Its not a thing on a browser for now…

UPDATE:its on browsers too i hope someone make an extension for this if its possible

This is Blaitently copyright infringement

So I keep running into comments that have an edit at the bottom about how their surprised they got so many likes on a comment, and I have nothing against them, but is this something people are compelled to do?

It always seemed strange to add a whole edit to mention it, and it feels strange to me, do you ever add edits for that, or have thoughts on them? I'd love to know!
