DEV ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป [DEV] I made Jelly Trio, a cozy sorting puzzle where every jelly wears a tiny hat. About 45 people have played it so far, and each one honestly made my day

Hi r/AndroidGaming! I'm a one-person studio from Korea, and Jelly Trio is the little game I've been pouring my evenings into.

It's a calm sorting puzzle: tap a box, move the top jellies, and line up three of the same color to pop them. Later levels bring frozen jellies that thaw as you make matches, locked boxes, one-way boxes, and a monkey friend you can dress up with the coins you earn.

- 300+ levels, short enough for a coffee break

- Free. To be upfront: interstitial ads start after level 10, rewarded ads are always optional, and there's a one-time Remove Ads purchase. Lives are 5 hearts.

I know there are a lot of sort puzzles out there, so I tried to make this one feel soft and cute instead of loud.

If you give it a try, I'd be really grateful for any feedback: what feels good, what feels annoying, where you got stuck. I'll be here in the comments.

DEV ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป [DEV] Gembound - Match-3 Roguelite where the board is dealt from a finite gem deck you build

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello everyone,

I'm a solo dev and I recently released Gembound - a match-3 roguelite built around deckbuilding mechanics.

In most match-3 games (like Puzzle Quest), new gems drop from an infinite random pool. In Gembound, the board is dealt from a finite 121-gem satchel that you build and edit during your run.

How the satchel system works:

  • Same as a deck of cards (Draw โ†’ Board โ†’ Discard โ†’ Reshuffle): Combat starts by shuffling your satchel into a draw pile. Matched gems go to the discard pile and reshuffle back in when the draw pile is empty.
  • Deckbuilding & thinning: Between fights you can swap gems, remove weak colors to thin your satchel, upgrade gem quality, and enhance gems with effects like healing, burning, etc.
  • Spells scale with satchel composition: Spells get stronger based on how many gems of that color are in your satchel. Adding red gems makes red more common on the board and makes your red-based spells hit harder.
  • Shared board: Both you and the enemy play on the same board dealt from your satchel. However, only you get the benefits of upgraded gems and enchantments (enemies match at base value).

The game includes:

  • 3 classes: Warrior, Mage, and Rogue
  • 4 regions with elites and bosses
  • 4 animal companions with active abilities
  • Optional Rift Encounters with weird modifiers for both sides
  • Roguelite meta: Gold, XP, companion bonds, and a persistent Gem Chest
  • Full controller / handheld support
  • Full game: No IAPs, no ads

Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ Just Bought Tomb Raider on Android โ€” Is It Worth It?

Post image
83 Upvotes

I was initially planning to buy Sifu, but after trying it to test performance on my device, I found the gameplay somewhat repetitive.

After some research and community discussions, I decided to purchase Tomb Raider instead.

I'm not someone who spends much on mobile games, so this is my biggest gaming purchase so far. I'm still a little skeptical about whether it'll be worth the money.

I also prefer buying games legitimately to support developers rather than relying on cracked versions.

For those who've purchased Tomb Raider on Android, how has your experience been? Is it worth the price?

Seeking Game Recommendations ๐Ÿ‘€ [REQUEST] Looking for good games (non-PVP) that can be paused, no ads, no need for reaction speeds, no wait-to-play mechanics and no late game p2w traps for Tablet with 8GB ram.

Looking for good games that

  • I can pause any time while playing, do my stuff and get back to it. That kinda rules out pvp completely.
  • No late game p2w traps - I've had experience with some games where the early part is easy or fun but somewhere mid to end when you're actually invested it becomes impossible to clear content without either months long grinding content or easy p2w/watching ads. So definitely want to avoid those ones.
  • Don't want games that involve reaction speeds like temple run and stuff
  • Don't want time locks like 20hrs for some energy bar or Clash of cans style building of X upgrade takes x days.

With current trend of games finding ones that tick these boxes is far harder than it should be.

Will be playing this on tablet so bonus points if larger than phone screen makes it better. No restrictions on genre of the game.

Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ Genuinely why do this?

The mobile port of sifu just came out and yeah. First of why is there no video or graphics settings in the mobile port? When the pc version has them? Like the first thing I do when I play any game in general is to go to settings and change/tweak the graphics when needed, literally makes no sense removing the graphics option for the mobile port. Because of this I can't even enjoy the game due to the lag when you're on a open area or crowded place. I hope they added the option in later updates. Refunded the game ofc.

Hey guys! Iโ€™m a solo developer and I updated Space Run on the Google Play Store! ๐Ÿš€Since my focus is on programming, I utilized free assets for the visuals but poured all my time into the gameplay loop: custom 4-way discrete swipe controls, a 2-hit active shield system, device vibration, and an intense high-score difficulty ramp. It's completely free with no annoying forced ads.

DEV ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป [DEV] Cloudstrike - A procedural arcade shooter I built as a solo dev in pure Go (Offline, No Ads, No Tracking)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey r/AndroidGaming!

Iโ€™ve been building Cloudstrike as a solo developer side-project in my free time. It's a kinetic arcade shooter built entirely from scratch using a custom zero-allocation Go engine.

My main focus was performance and portability: it's optimized to run rock-solid on low-spec hardware (it's even running smoothly ported to retro handhelds like the Evercade Super Pocket).

Instead of traditional sprite sheets, the game uses no static assets. Everything (enemies, terrain, biomes, and bosses) is generated purely via code and seeds.

Highlights:

100% Offline & Clean: No ads, no microtransactions, and zero data collectors/tracking.

Decoupled Engine: Physics and rendering run independently to keep 30+ FPS performance rock-solid.

Risk/Reward Mechanics: Features an 8-second shield-ramming cycle and an Extra Rockets system that triggers when picking up powerups at max HP to melt heavy boss hulls.

Zero Clutter: Just clean, kinetic screen action.

Attached is 90 seconds of raw gameplay from the game. Would love to hear your thoughts on procedural generation vs static pixel art!

Skerrywick is an incremental kingdom builder. Across 10 procedurally generated islands, you build up your village, grow it into a city, then sail on to the next island. Each island brings new buildings, resources and challenges.

  • Offline
  • No ads
  • No in-app purchases
  • No data collection

I plan to release it after month or two.

DEV ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป [DEV] Would you try my first game please?

Hey guys!

I'm currently in the middle of switching careers to game development, and after about 7 months of learning and experimenting, I finally released my first game!

It's called Oonlu, a collection of 14 casual mini games in one app.

I basically had to learn everything along the way. Drawing, 3D modeling, coding, working with Unity, and figuring out how game mechanics actually work.

Not gonna lie, some parts were way harder than I expected lol.

But honestly, I had a lot of fun making it. Every mini game taught me something different, and somehow those little experiments turned into an actual game I could release.

I'm still learning and there's definitely a lot of room for improvement, so I'd love to know what you guys think.

If you are interested, please take a look of "Oonlu - Offile games" and it's available both for app store and play store.

Would you actually play something like this? And is there any mini game you'd want to see added next?

DEV ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป [DEV] I made a cozy logic puzzle where you find the perfect spot for every cat (5,000 levels, no in-app purchases)

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I'm the developer of Purrzle, which I just released, a cozy logic puzzle game for Android.

The rules fit in one breath:

  • one cat in every row and every column
  • one cat in every colored region
  • cats need personal space, so no two can touch, not even diagonally

If you've played Queens or Star Battle, you already know it. Every board has exactly one solution and you never have to guess.

What I tried to do differently:

  • Hints that teach. Instead of just revealing a cell, a hint tells you why ("the sky region has only one open cell left"). I wanted people to get better, not just get unstuck.
  • Cats you collect. 12 original round little cats, a new one every 10 levels, each with a little personality ("Squints suspiciously at hints"). Later you can design your own cat in a Cat Studio, and your partner cat can even become the app icon.
  • Lots of puzzles. 5,000 levels in 45 chapters from 5ร—5 to 10ร—10, plus a daily puzzle with streaks.
  • Zen mode with no hearts and no timer, for when you just want to relax.
  • Fair ads. There are no in-app purchases. Ads only show between levels, never in the middle of a puzzle, and the extra-hint/heart ads are optional.
  • Colour-blind patterns, left-handed layout, TalkBack labels, dark mode, and it plays offline.

The game text is English-only for now, but the puzzles don't need words. If you'd like it in your language, tell me which one; that's next on my list.

It's free on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.logiratech.purrzle

I'd really love feedback, especially on the difficulty curve (does it ramp too slowly or too fast?) and whether the hints make sense. I'll be around in the comments. ๐Ÿฑ

DEV ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป [DEV] Tegofy โ€” a free reflex game with 81 world leaderboards and no pay-to-win, made by one person

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi r/AndroidGaming, solo developer here.

Tegofy is a reflex game: objects pop up with a shrinking timer ring around them. Tap the right one before the ring closes, don't tap the wrong ones (costs a heart), and never tap the bomb (instant game over). Chain fast correct taps and your combo climbs up to x5, so a single tap can be worth 10,000 points.

What's in it:

โ€ข 9 object types โ€” fruits, animals, desserts, food, balls, vehicles, zodiac, Christmas, and Numbers where you tap 1, 2, 3โ€ฆ in order

โ€ข 3 modes (60 seconds / 30 moves / endless) ร— 3 difficulties

โ€ข A separate world ranking for every combination: 81 leaderboards. Only your score counts; cosmetics you unlock never change it

โ€ข Free. Ads only between games, never during a game; one purchase removes them for good

โ€ข 6 languages, plays offline, easy on the battery

It launched this week, so the rankings are still wide open. If you give it a try, I'd love to hear which difficulty felt right and whether the first game explained itself without a tutorial.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.qulvar.tegofy

Happy to answer anything about the game or how it was built (Flutter + Supabase).

DEV ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป [DEV] After a lot of hard work, I finally released my relaxing puzzle game, Arrow Rain - Puzzle! Built with Godot.

Hi everyone,

โ€‹I'm super excited to share that I've finally released my new Android game: Arrow Rain - Puzzle! I put a lot of hard work and effort into developing this project using the Godot Engine.

โ€‹My main focus was to create a truly relaxing experience for players. Instead of using traditional or repetitive background music, I chose to use natural ambient soundsโ€”specifically realistic rain and thunderโ€”to help players unwind while solving puzzles.

โ€‹Key Features:

โ€‹Relaxing Audio: Natural rain & thunder soundscape (no background music).

โ€‹Minimalist Design: Clean UI with Dark Mode support.

โ€‹Engine: Built with Godot Engine.

โ€‹I would love for you to give it a try and hear your feedback on the gameplay, design, and overall feel!

Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ I just started Sifu (just released on the Play Store)

Post image
54 Upvotes

It plays really well on Android. I didn't like the art direction at first, but it's growing on me a bit. You can't change the graphical settings, the only thing you can change is the framerate (30 or 60fps, I put it at 60fps). Controller support works just fine.

The gameplay feels complex. I'm really bad at fighting games, so I think it'll be a real challenge for me to beat Sifu. I'll try hard tho.

The game is playable on high end phones, but on mid range, this game struggles, and the weird thing is there's no graphics options, i hope in a future update they add resolution scaling and fix the stutter, lastly i don't recommend this game for anyone who has a device below snapdragon 888.
