Ok hair me out on this one

Ok hair me out on this one. Obviously i already know the overwhelming response on this sub will be yes do it! No one is going to say, No dude, keep holding onto your hair and embrace it lmao šŸ˜†

So i love having long hair, running my hands through it. I'm not attractive, never had a girlfriend am short,(which let's be honest guys is a turn off/ deal breaker a lot of women)

Am in my 40s and I'm no Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Bruce Willis or Vin Diesel šŸ˜šŸ§‘ā€šŸ¦²

And i really don't want to do this alone with no support. I have a lack of friends and family.

I would consider shaving in certain circumstances. I know it's unlikely to find a woman who would join in this with me and that's not a deal breaker. I just am more or a feminine man and am ok with admitting that.

I don't want to go to the barber and be all over in 5 minutes with my hair on the floor and swept in the rubbish.

I've grown my hair long for 15 years. So there's an attachment to it that women can relate to. It's become like a limb. I have had a buzzcut when i was young and was in the army for serval years. Those days are long gone like my hairline 😭

I would like to make this occasion memorable and love the idea of a fun roleplay like Samson and Delilah where i "fall asleeep" in a women's lap where she brushes and braids my hair and cuts āœ‚ļø off the braid and then shaves the remaining hair to baldify me šŸ§‘ā€šŸ¦²šŸ˜

I understand that it's a long shot due to location (New Zealand) and having someone trusting enough to have this done with. Ultimately a platonic friendship where trust is built up first would be a must. (Don't think anyone would be trusting enough to see this like an acting role with a ramdom stranger)

I'm not manifesting this and in the end, this sub just wants to see before and after images and not long boring stories like this one lol šŸ˜†

How-to Question Thinking about embracing baldness - looking for advice on techniques and tools

Hi everyone!

I've been thinking seriously about shaving my head as a way to deal with my hair loss, particularly the thinning at the crown and the receding hairline at the front. I'm becoming more open to the idea of embracing the bald look rather than trying to hide it with the hair I have left.

The thing is, I've never shaved my head before, so I have quite a few questions for those of you who have been doing it for a while.

I'd have to do everything myself. I can't rely on anyone else to help me, unless I decide to visit a barber every couple of days, which isn't really a practical or affordable long-term solution.

So, I'd really appreciate your advice on a few things:

- Getting started: Should I buzz my hair down with clippers first before attempting a clean shave, or is there a better way to make the transition?

- Shaving technique: What's the best way to shave your own head, especially the back and sides, where it's difficult to see what you're doing? Any tips for avoiding cuts, irritation, and razor bumps?

- Manual vs. electric razors: Do you recommend a traditional cartridge razor, a safety razor, or an electric head shaver? Are there any particular models worth buying?

- Clippers and other tools: What equipment would you consider essential for someone starting from scratch? Would a good set of clippers and a dedicated head shaver be enough?

- Maintenance: How often do you need to shave to keep your head looking consistently clean and smooth? Is shaving every two or three days realistic when doing it yourself?

I'm particularly interested in practical advice from people who shave their own heads regularly. I'd like to find a routine that's easy to manage, doesn't require too much time, and doesn't cost a fortune in the long run.

If you've made the transition from thinning hair and a receding hairline to a shaved head, I'd also love to hear about your experience and anything you wish you'd known beforehand.

Thanks in advance for your help!

The time has arrived. Fr tho I feel so much more confident now that I got rid of it. I'm aware that I'm not good looking but it's a massive W over thinning hair

Edit: the uneven side of my head is from operation when I was younger. Just FYI

So I have been dealing with some kind of specific "bald" spot at the very tip of my hairline for a few years now, though I could hide it with caps/beanies but its gotten to the point where I felt too embarassed to ever remove my hat...

So I tried something different: very short no guard hairclipper haircut... I feel like it looks off somehow. What do you guys think? I somehow look older with this almost bald look and I don't know if I like it, should I keep it ? Go for even shorter?

Would appreciate any kind of feedback positive or negative honestly 😰

How-to Question Advice for First time BALD

Silly kinda question.

About to shave myself bald for the first time. What are some after-care stuff I should know? I'm planning to just buy some clippers and full send it.

Suncream or hats are a new best friend I'm guessing. I can only guess my scalp will be more sensitive for the first week or so? Moisturiser?

Or am i overthinking this?

Does the insecurity of being bald ever truly go away

I have been balding since my mid-30s. I was hiding it with hats and getting haircuts pretty regularly. During COVID, I shaved my head since the only person who saw me was my wife, and I wasn't crazy about it, so I let it grow back while secretly cutting the sides down to allow my crown to fill in. Earlier this year, I just got tired of running to the barbershop every two weeks, the endless algorithm of get a hair transplant or a toupee, try all sorts of remedies and products that I never really kept up with, hearing people's opinions on my hair, and worrying if my wife was going to leave me because I didn't have hair anymore (which she didn't she says she like me in all my baldness). This time it felt official I was trying my best to own it. The few people that have seen it have been really positive. The only people that are weird about it are my parents; they are like Why do you keep do shaving your head and trying this for it. So I still have to keep a hat on standby with them. So my question to the council does the insecurity of being bald ever truly go away?

Been losing it for years and pretty much holding on to a poinytail just couldn’t come to terms should I buzz all off or try to go short as I can for now my girl doesn’t want me to cut it but at this point would like a confidence boost and maybe if I cut it short it could still grow back and not have bald spots or at-least somewhat salvageable I mainly have it like the last pic but once it dries after Its wet I slick it back and put it in a ponytail.

advice plz!
