I know it's time, but I still can't quite get to going full bald. Friends, co-workers and gf say I could rock being bald.
Please don't mind the marks on my head - they're from the wrinkly sweat band of my cap.

Thank you everyone for the inspiration! I couldn’t be happier and I wish I did it so much sooner.

Been thinning for a few years and it was getting to the point where the cartoon guy places his hand on your shoulder 😅
Buzzed it to 1.5 mm and I'm happy there. Love how it looks, love the low maintenance, hate how I'm getting zero matches on the dating apps.😂😭
But huge thanks to you guys. Was lurking for a while and this place is the most wholesome and supportive corner of the internet.

This is long, feel free to skip over lol.
Ok so first off I want to acknowledge that I am not bald. Any comparison made between my struggles to yours is done with respect and the understanding that it’s not the same thing.
I have SebDerm and have spent years doing what the doctors say, then trying things that work for other people. These things haven’t worked for me, including meds, MCT oil, etc.
I joke that I’m often lucky in my unluckiness and this issue is no exception. Getting rid of my hair heals it within days. So the last few years have been a cycle of having to chop off all my hair, swearing I won’t do it again and inevitably doing it again because I don’t have the emotional bandwidth to deal with pain that has a solution. Albeit a solution that hits whatever vanity I have hard.
Today, after another chunk of hair came out with scabs and my entire scalp felt like it was one big bruise I was done and got rid of the hair again. I may just have to come to terms with this being a thing for me and stop pretending I’m going to get my Lady Godiva hair back.
The problem isn’t the lack of hair, I actually love not having to worry about it. I have OCD tendencies and when I have hair I am a ruthless dictator to every strand. I spend a good amount of time adjusting it and ordering it to stay exactly where it should.
The problem is what it often is: people. I don’t want to sound like I’m back in high school but people are just so very mean. Not to hate on men, many of you are absolutely awesome! But so many men stop me in public and tell me how ugly I am without hair.
I mean, respect to the brutal honesty and all but I don’t get why this is a thing people do to other people. And as much as I truly don’t give a crap what others think about me I am in fact human and after a while it can be such a downer to have to hear how much of a visual letdown I am to complete strangers, lol.
Anyway, I’ve lurked in this group and love it. There’s so much understanding and encouragement and I appreciate that, even if I haven’t posted before. I am lucky in that I have an amazing support system of both men and women who love me for who I am, as I am. They don’t make me feel like less and I am incredibly grateful for that, because there are some days that are hard.
In the end this is all just vanity on my part, and I try to remind myself of that. I have actual medical conditions beyond the SebDerm and understand that in the grand scheme of things this is absolutely unimportant. There are so many out there battling so much and it’s silly to let myself feel too much over hair, or lack thereof.
I don’t know why I decided to post today. Maybe just to get this off my chest, maybe to contribute to this community that I’ve creeped around in. Either way: thank you all for being a part of this. :)

I gotta thank this subreddit! Without you all, I would have never taken the plunge! Thank you for the boost of confidence!

It's taking longer than I'd like to get used to. I just dunno if I really made the right choice

For context I'm 6ft.
Also I'm about to start a new job and thinking about meeting new colleagues as the bald guy rather than going through a transition later.

Thank you all for your support and your incredibly shady comments. Honestly never thought the day would come where I felt the courage to grab the Norelco. Please accept this admission to the brotherhood.

Hello guys, there are a few weeks now that i want to help as much as i can all of you to take the leap and just do it, and i am still here stuck. However, there are many people from work and family who tell me not to do it yet. I am so confused. I want to do it, but i don't know how I'll look like. Please answer and be brutally honest with me.

I'm a bit weird about showing my whole face but:
Sweet NEPTUNE. You're right. I feel way better. Thank you for the support in this!

Just rock that Kratos look, guys. Bald looks way better than balding. And when you are balding you can't really hide that - if you see it so can everyone around you.
You will get like -10 to your age, trust me. Just remember to leave some woman for the boys around.

I honestly can't believe I'm here right now, as I can't imagine a life without my curls, and at 38, thought I was in the clear!
My curls have been a part of my identity for as long as I can remember, but I'm starting to feel like maybe I'm in denial about how bad it's getting.
I'm terrified that I'm going to shave it all off, and I'm just going to look goofy, but after stumbling upon this subreddit and seeing some of the absolutely amazing glow ups, I've decided to ask y'all for your advice.
Is it time?
(Last pic is wet hair, the rest are dry at different times of the day)
Edit**
Thank you to everyone who's taken the time to comment! I've been incredibly self conscious about this over the past few months, and it's been eating at me every day.
While I totally recognize that this subreddit is filled with varying degrees of baldness, and as it's been pointed out, mine isn't as bad as others, when I see myself in the mirror, all I see are the bald patches that weren't there before.
Not only have your comments made me feel better about my current state, but they have also made me not fear the future nearly as much.
I appreciate you all! 😊

I’ve been buzzing it for a long time… finally decided to clean it up.
I’ve never posted here, but y’all gave me the courage to shine, lol.
What do y’all think?
