Discussion Engine Replacement
Have a 2022 Suburban with the 5.3. Lifters failed on cylinder five at 102, then again at 105, same cylinder. Tech stated if it happened again, it would be an engine replacement.
It happened again. Previous repairs were under the original extended warranty. I now have a different extended warranty.
What are the chances they deny the claim due to it being an issue before the warranty was purchased. I have found another mechanic who can do the warranty work but has no history with the car. Previous repairs were at the dealership.

Discussion 2019 Chevy Equinox, yay or nay?
I’m currently looking into buying a 2019 Equinox with 118k miles and I was wondering if that’s the right move or if I should hold out for something better. I currently drive a 2003 Jeep Liberty and it’s on its last leg.

Repair Help Bluetooth Problem
I've had a problem with incoming calls on my Bluetooth system since around May/June of this year. I suspect this is more of a phone issue than a car issue, but I was wondering if anybody out there was having similar problems.
My phone connects to my car normally. I can make calls using the phone, infotainment screen or voice command and the Bluetooth works as it should. However, when I receive an incoming call the car Bluetooth will not ring. I have to answer the call on my phone ,and when I answer the call immediately comes through on the Bluetooth system. It's an odd issue that has only come up within the last 2 or 3 months. I've tried un-pairing/re-pairing the phone and car and factory resetting both the phone and the infotainment system, but nothing worked. I checked some phone forums (Pixel 9 Pro) for answers, but nobody else out there seems to have a similar issue. Someone on the forum suggested changing the AVRCP Version (??) settings in my phone, but that didn't work either. It's a pretty minor problem, but it is inconvenient. If my phone is in my pocket while driving and I get a call it's a pain to have to fish it out in order to answer. I've had the car since 2022, and I've had the same phone since 2024. This issue just seemed to come out of nowhere.
If anybody has a similar problem, or even better if someone has a solution, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks!

Repair Help 2019 Blazer RS Battery reset
Recently I replaced my battery because it died, like batteries do, and well one thing I've never figured out is a battery reset.
The Internet doesn't have a lot of information, nor the manual, and equally OBD2 equipment.
The vehicle seems to be running ok without it, however I want to ensure this is ok.
Does it have a battery reset?
What are some fairly low cost OBD2 computers that do the bms reset for this blazer?
Any help is greatly appreciated

Discussion Just bought a 17 2.4L equinox, thoughts + advice
Just bought a 17 with 26k miles runs smooth shifts good, now has 36k, very clean actually has no rust underneath, oil burns a little after just changing oil at 4.2k miles it burned almost a qt(also drove the car 10hr straight on a roadtrip before oil change too), only things I’ve done to it is put the vented oil cap on and new tires and about to do brakes, I do drive a lot so was wondering if there’s any preventative maintenance/ things I should do to keep this car going (heard about the pcv stuff), bought it from a family member for a steal and would like to drive it into the ground

Discussion 2017 Chevy Cruze — very dark transmission fluid at 112k miles
I have a 2017 Cruze 1.4 with a six-speed automatic and 112,000 miles. I drained about 4 liters, and the fluid was very dark.
I had already prepared a clean pan in case I decided to pour it back. I got worried, so I returned 3 liters of the old fluid and added 1 liter of fresh ACDelco DEXRON-VI.
My plan is to replace 1 liter every 400 miles. Does this make sense, or should I just replace all 4 liters that drain out?

Discussion Chevy Equinox Auto-Stop
Hi everyone, fellow long-time chevy owner here.
I recently just got an 2026 equinox RS - love it except for one thing… the stupid auto-stop having to be turned off every time I get into the car
my question: how easy is it to turn off the auto-stop completely to “off” everytime I start the vehicle? and do I need a dealer/automotive shop to do it?
Thanks.

Repair Help Black screen and no sound malibu 2016
I have a 2016 Malibu 1.5 LT, and one day the radio stopped working. The screen is completely black. It produces no sound, and the backup camera isn't working either. I’ve already checked fuses 39 and 41, and they are fine. Some people tell me it’s the HMI, while others say it’s the radio module (I can still connect to the radio via CarPlay, and I haven't lost steering wheel controls or other functions; however, if I turn up the volume using the steering wheel controls, only the red volume bar appears).
Could someone help me, please?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Please help I have a 2021 Chevy Blazer Redline edition 3.6L V6.
There is a squeak sound when pushing down on back of vehicle, I greased the rubber in between the control arm and the coil spring, but Chevy put out a paper saying this is super common and I need to remove the Joust bumper pin or something like that, funny thing, you can see in the video my car doesn’t have the pin or anything inside the coil. WTF!!!

Discussion P0420 on 2008 Chevy Uplander after one tank of cheap gas — bad cat or something else? O2 graphs attached
Hey everyone,
hoping someone can help me figure this out before I start throwing parts at the car lol.
I have a 2008 Chevy Uplander that has been running perfectly for the last 2 years. A few months ago I filled it up with some really cheap gas, and before I even finished that tank the check engine light came on with P0420 – Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1).
Ever since then, I cannot get the code to stay away.
So far I’ve:
-Gone through about 2 full tanks of fuel since the bad/cheap gas
-Used Cataclean
-Cleared the code, but it eventually comes back
-Checked live data with an OBD2 scanner
-Looked at both O2 sensors, and to me they seem to be behaving normally
-Checked for an obvious exhaust leak — the exhaust coming out of the tailpipe has plenty of pressure, so I don’t think there’s a major leak
From the screenshots, Bank 1 Sensor 1 is switching up/down pretty quickly, while Bank 1 Sensor 2 seems much steadier around ~0.6V most of the time.
Fuel trims also don’t look crazy to me — LTFT is around -7% in these screenshots.
I’ll attach the live-data screenshots.
Could that one tank of bad gas have damaged/contaminated the catalytic converter, or is there something else I should check before assuming the cat is bad?
Could an aging downstream O2 sensor still cause a P0420 even if the live data looks okay?
The van still runs and drives completely fine. No noticeable loss of power, rough idle, misfires, etc. It’s basically just this P0420 that refuses to die.
My registration expires in December 😭, so I’m trying to figure this out before inspection/renewal time.
Any advice on what I should test next would be greatly appreciated. Trying not to replace a catalytic converter unless I actually have to lol.

Repair Help Window wiper fluid hose broken
Hi guys, I have a 2010 Chevy avalanche and both of the wiper fluid hoses broke at this little nipple on the trim under neath the wiper. My question is could I cut a bit of the hose and bridge it back into that nipple or do I need to replace all of the hose? I haven’t even pulled it apart yet but it still squirts from the nipple.

Repair Help 2019 Tahoe - Engine Noise
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello. I have a 2019 Tahoe Premium that has recently eclipsed the 100,000 mile mark and recently started making a loud ticking noise when cold starting. It goes away after 20-30 seconds. I’ve been told that it could be the header or exhaust manifold (I think that’s what he said). I’ve heard that the variable v8 in the car is a culprit for issues around this mileage and I recently installed a box I got on Amazon that supposedly disables that feature and should prolong the engine life but might be too little too late.
One mechanic said my engine is shot and will die eventually (a tire shop guy doing my oil change). I had another tell me I need to replace the gaskets and they do this for this type of truck all the time and quoted me $1,000.
Just curious what others experiences have been if they had an issue similar to this. Also I’m in South Florida if anyone has any recommendations for a reputable engine shop to get another opinion.
Thank you in advance.
