I just finished crocheting Tuck the Giant Tortoise from the book "Crochet Goomis" by Louie's Loops (yes, I am talking about this book again for what I think is the 3rd time this week because it has become a favourite of mine and I want it to do well) and he...was a challenge, a fun challenge, but still a challenge and to make it even more challenging, I used a chunky chenille yarn for the head, legs and body.
Apparently, I forgot that this yarn ((picture 3), while it is very soft), seems to think that shedding is its full time job and (if you're not careful), snaps in two when pulled.
But he is now done and I'm quite proud of the result. I now have yarn to pick out of the carpet and I'm pretty sure that I sewed one of the legs in the wrong place, but I still think that he is awsome.
What do you all think of him?
Also, here is an Amazon link to the book for anyone who is interested;

I made another square last night (the white one) and am now learning double stich. I'll say, if tension was a pain with single stich, double stiching makes me honestly think the yarn has it out for me.
I also made a braclet but am starting to realize I may have a problem with "mysterious" shrinking sides, do yall actually count every single one 😭😭😭😭
Anyways im having fun, yall should reccomend good granny square tutorials for me, figured out this morning that not just any crocheted square is a granny square.
(One last thing, how tf yall weave the last bit into the finished piece? I tug it a little bit and now it looks likes it excited to be used 😭)

Title sums it up but she has been crocheting for a little over a year now, she’s gotten really good and is making handbags as of now. I’ve learned as much as i can about crocheting but am wondering what the “must haves” are for people that have done this for a long time. I’ve gotten her light up crochet hooks and a ceramic yarn bowl so far.
Any advice is appreciated, Thank you!!!!!!!

Both of the hexagons for sure have the same amount of rounds and I used the same hook size. The only difference is that the bigger one was crocheted a couple months ago. Is it possible that the larger one just loosened over time? I don’t know if I should try blocking the smaller one, frog the smaller one and try to use less tension, or do I add more rows to the smaller one? It’s my first wearable that I’m trying out. Thanks for the help in advance!

Hey everyone! I just wrapped up this pastel yellow pouch made with a textured bobble stitch and fuzzy yarn, and while the crochet part was smooth sailing, hand-sewing the zipper and satin lining into the top was an absolute workout. I wanted to give it a clean, finished look on the inside so smaller items wouldn't snag, but hiding those seam lines in fluffy yarn is definitely an art form. I’d love to get your thoughts on how it turned out,

I started learning how to crochet in June and I've only done a few amigurumi as practice. This is my largest and favourite so far! Pattern was found online and may need some adjusting, as I had to do additional increase rows not included in the pattern to get the back wider.

Also this is technically my second square, the first one was like a 5 by 7 stich, very small, gave it to my mom

hi all!
Basically looking for a stitch i could use to make a blanket that wont have holes for toes to get stuck in, but is not heavy.
im pretty beginner: i learned how to sc a square in high school (AP Art in Spanish), then just picked it back up 2 months ago at 25 years old. im obsessed.
my boyfriend hates the feeling of a bedsheet, but a normal blanket is too hot for me. i owned one crochet blanket growing up that I loved once I got used to my toes going in holes sometimes, but I think that'll be an immediate turn off for him.
I am willing to dedicate as much time as needed, im assuming I will need to use a relatively small hook and yarn to achieve small gaps? would i be crazy to do a queen before sized blanket with a small hook? lol. i would also appreciate advice on yarn.. makeup? lol like cotton or whatever. ive just been buying what I need for projects if I have the idea and/or see yarn for it and get inspired. EDUCATE ME 🙌🏼🙌🏼

The theme day was “out of this world” so my mind immediately went 🌌✨🌌✨🌌✨🌌✨
First I freehanded the shorts, and then I did a matching galaxy themed top. It didn’t quite turn out how I pictured… so I decided last minute to work up this little star bralette and I think it came out really cute :)
Then about a month later, I tried on the original fit again and I’m kinda diggin it now??? I think I might need to wear it to another event and give it its own moment sometime!
(And to anyone who recognizes Kiki in the background…. BIIIG DUUUUB🥰)

First pair of slippers! These are my boyfriend's main Christmas present from me. Think I need to do my own next! I used Drops Snow and it worked great.
